I've got to say, Luke looks and sounds like a different athlete to what he was before his injuries....like a man who has been forced to face his own ego and battle through tough times to recover both physically and mentally.
5:00 Very well said brother! You should be proud of your accomplishments, but we're all mortal and being a good man is far more important. I've had 3 surgeries and a bunch of injuries too, they're extremely tough mentally and require a lot of resilience. Keen to see you compete! 💪💪❤
Luke, the real strongman fans who watched you compete know you have what it takes to be n.1! You proven it. Take it easy on your body, train smart and leave your ego behind! We wish you all the best, sir. You are great and coming back makes you already a winner on my books.
Waoo impresionante. Siempre para adelante, para conseguir las metas tenemos que vencer a veces muchos trabas que se presentan en el camino. Y tú lo hiciste, eres un grande 💪💪👏
The potential this man has is unreal. Hopefully he can get and stay fit for a period of time and he could be a world champion no doubt. The clear change in outlook and mentality shows how he’s grown. Still young, a lot of time left 💪
How unlucky can you be ! It's a hard long rd to go from 1 to the next is difficult mentally . So to smile after all that is a start and through our hardest times we get split into the do or die category!. Well done buddy
Every professional sport in the world starts with your mental strength. The champions and the ones that always make comebacks no matter what are always the most mentally strong. Which I think is about 70% of sports because where the mind goes the body will follow ALWAYS!
Huge talent and a very likable athlete besides. The gods gave him much success early in life with his powerlifting accolades and his ESM championship...then the gods decided to test him. What a maddening time it must have been for these series of injuries to hamper him for THREE YEARS. But Luke is still a very young man yet and wise and mature beyond his years given the travails he's faced. A fit and healthy and motivated Luke is a banker's bet to be a podium finisher at England's, at Britain's, and a finalist at World's Strongest Man. Best of luck to him, and huge plaudits to Darren for helping Luke out with medical expenses and the like...
That's one of the most prominent issues with the current attitude of "don't just achieve great things, but as young as possible!". Lots of injuries, lots of stress, and never feeling satisfied. Imagine if Eddie had rushed his 500 kg pull and WSM win - maybe he would've done it a little sooner. But it would've probably killed him! We have to appreciate our achievements and not just compare ourselves to an ever-receding standard.
@@joescho you've got a lot to learn about reading comprehension. I did not ask 'what *are* they'. I called them 'added' sound effects, I clearly know they're not part of the original audio track. I said what's with them, since it's a shitty editing decision.
Mitchell hooper is the only cyborg in strongman that we know about ?? 😂. But we all think we're bullet proof until that day comes when you get slapped by reality!. But its those who get strong mentally from it benefit more
Mitch hasn’t been training that long and is still in his 20’s and just as with most other sports like basketball, football and baseball the injuries happen more frequently as you get into your mid 30’s. Serious injuries could also happen depending on how good you take care of your body. Especially the strengthening of the joints, ligaments and tendons and a lot of stretching.
Have to be more careful with lifting stones and barrels, cant just lift those weight while having straight arm, strongmen need to be taught how to avoid injuries

100%! He’s definitely a changed man
his ego wasnt bad before either.
He just knew his potensial, barring injuries and he get them - several bad ones. Hope he smashes it.
What a journey! Rooting for you Luke 💪
Fingers crossed!

Great insight to Luke’s journey and progression, will you be doing videos on the other athletes competing in englands?

Guys like Big Z and Brian Shaw are how it should be done. While they've had their injuries they've had a 20+ year career
Enjoy it Luke!
Ohh 💪💪
Increíble
The body can only endure so much...
I hope his can hold up so he can show case his potential/talent.
❤️❤️
Back to the fuxking future!!!
Taking too much gear at a young age has caused his injurys . Learn from this
Genial
Man what's with the added crunching sound effects
you’ve got a lot to learn about the film industry my friend. all the sound you hear are fake

@@EVO6- I added them because you can’t see the tendon ripping off the bone
I’m going to be real. None of those injuries seem worth it.. like in 10 years when you’re half immobile.. should be fun
Buena

We’re all mortals sadly
Mitch is still new and hasn't had many miles, he's had a torn hamstring, sprained ankle. It's just part of the game.

@keithdefreitas3399 and has won the top comps in strongman !! Hes not hunan ! 😂
@@keithdefreitas3399 Contrary to popular belief, stretching doesn't prevent injury, especially when it comes to strength sports.
