Oh man, this brings memories. I was on a 1983 TE 510 and a 1986 just like this one back then. Now on a Husaberg 501 riding just for fun. Good job on the rebuild! And good kick stroke too. Thanks for sharing!
I bought this same model in Dallas for $350 all it needed was a coil. Great when you could get it started, inconsistent hot or cold. Ran extremely hot once you did but broad powerband.
nice bike. i had a 1984. 2 shock model you can use a water cooled bike piston only after you put an aluminum sleve in the barrel the original is steel but both are 92mm
I know how to search, and even build spares for my bikes. I'm building an '86 CR500R from parts found on ebay only. It's an ebay special :) Also restored a '82 XT550 and so on...
8 months late but I couldn't resist ro answer :) app. 48 HP at the rear wheel and 125kg incl. 8 Litres gas and 1,5 oil. The water cooled version was more common. Anyway, this engine have low rotating mass for a 4 stroke because they don't have oil pumpes, But this leads to engines death if you go full throttle for to long (170km/h) i.e. on german Autobahn. It also has a great torque on low end, fires up around the middle and no rpm limit...
Nice! I have the same motorcycle, too. However, a piston does not work with no use. Do you know whether you sell a piston somewhere? In addition, do you know whether a piston for water-cooled engines is usable?
@@scolapastas I'm living in Chile and I need the head of the motor. In 1996 one valve fell inside the motor and blocked everything. ....snif...since then my ex-husband left my machine and when I was able to get her back, it came without this part.....
@@patricialopezlimmer2982can you send me pics of the actual situation? I think a piston and maybe a hone job are mandatory. I will check for the complete head.
The cold start isn't the problem, its the hot start

Muy bonita y buen trabajo, felicidades.
Now that I think about it I believe there was an aftermarket bolt-on oil pump that spun off the transmission output shaft, lol.
Thanks a lot.
I like the 2 pipes.

Proper carburation e A LOT of practice!

The bike was sold last year to a guy in Belgium for 3000 euro.
If you want, I can build restore one and sell it, but needs a lot of time...
How did you get parts for it?....Do you know anyone that carries parts for them?
solid... I would pay over 3000 euros for that
my dad have the same ..... but he wont to buy your 1986 er husky ..... is that possible ???
I had some of those machines....wonderfull...may you help mi to repair mine? To find the missing parts?
Hello there. Why not. What you need, and where are you located?
