- 2D Plotter to Laser Engraver - DIY 40W Laser Engraver
Hi in this video i have shown how i converted my 2d plotter aka writing machine into a laser engraver using this 40W Laser Module.
i designed the new head plate, attached the laser, changed the control board to MKS DLC32 wifi CNC control board
after which i tested the laser on different materials

I have your plotter and will upgrade for laser engraving. What changes if using new controller so it can be used for both engraving and plotting? New video???

I'm considering performing the same operation on my DIY plotter. I believe the main modification involves is replacing the CNC Shield control board with an MKS DLC32 .. this imply better stability and a very important offline working mode.
But this board is designed to work with a CNC laser, and I would like to use it to control the plotter's servo .. as well-an option I currently find impossible. If you have any ideas how I can do it.

It cuts up to 3mm MDF board or 3mm plywood? I want to modify a DIY cnc router I have to laser cut thin plywood, I have a 10W diode laser engraver that hasnt been up to the task. Would this 40W laser cut it or do I need a CO2 laser?
it can cut 3mm in multiple passes at slower speeds, if you are looking for faster cutting, CO2 is the way to go
does aliexpress still deliver in India?
