    Those legs are a brilliant addition. So many users have issues with tumblers and usually it’s because it’s not square! Awesome innovation!!

      Yeah. I truly wish others would follow suit. It's such an overlooked necessity. I have even seen company videos where I cringe at their tumblers if they are not spot on.

    Thanks for a great review. I was one of the lucky ones who got the enclosed model on the first run. You brought up all the great features of this machine. The quality and attention to detail of this laser is amazing. One feature that I love is that when you slip the honeycomb grid flush against it's posts, it is dead on with the measurements within Lightburn. I enjoy just how compact it is with all it's features. Very streamlined. Look at how much shop space some of these other lasers with enclosures, either bought or self-made, take up. I have exchanged a few emails with Leo the owner, and he has always replied quickly and with much detail. I know that it cannot last once more people become aware of this laser, but it has been very nice so far knowing you can actually reach out to the owner.

      The only shame of it all is that they came after everyone already bought the Xtool products & we are all buying the co2 & IR/10w blue F1 now. It is overbuilt, which is a plus in my mind. It is AWESOME, but I already have a 10w laser. It looks to me to be the best value in all of laserdom - enclosure, air assist INCLUDED, ducting, exhaust fan on the enclosure, big one, not tiny - great laser. Too late, though. 10w diode is obsolete, engraving only. THAT SAID: I want one. I would PREFER this to my 10w d1 pro. It comes with everything I paid extra for with xtool. It is awesome. It is overbuilt, again, not a problem; AWESOME! If it is your FIRST laser to get in, GET IT! It is the best value on the market right now - 899 on sale. BUT take note that their products are all sold-out other than the bundle; something to consider. It is an awesome laser, though. ALL IN package for 899, you CANNOT beat it. Depending on what you want to do, I would want to get my hands on it if I was not moving up in the xtool line as we speak.

      @@bestyoutubernonegraternumber1 Yeah, it's hard to compete when there are more powerful ones out there than this. I just like all the bells and whistles that they come with. I've had 3 lasers so far,5w a co2. I wish they had a 20w when they came out with it! If they do what the Ikier did, their features combined with the Ikier, that would be a beast of a diode, obviously with a higher cost. We'll see what the next diode will bring!!

    Hey Ryan! Thanks for the overview! I have one of these on pre-order. I was looking at the Jenmitsu LC-50 and the Xtool D1 Pro. I ended up placing an order for the D1 due to it's upgrade path. Then a day after I placed that order I saw another review on TH-cam and cancelled the D1. To me this machine is where the laser market should be in 2023 as far as price and the tech goes. Most lasers are just iterations on the same tech with no real improvements. (FDM 3D printers are in the same stagnate cycle) I'm really looking forward to this! I have that kid in the candy store feeling. :-)

    I too was fortunate to get the Roly 10w on the second wave. I agree with all the positive comments. I love the use of the led light and the rotary without lifting the frame like I had to do with the Ortur. One problem that I am having is that at random times, the machine goes into busy mode and it states that it is streaming. I wil call Leo and see if he is aware of this issue. What I have been doing is shut down the lase and restarting it. Has your Roly ever gone into a Busy mode?

    Nice review. I'm interested in the tile etching using NWT method. Your power scale test and 3-tile etchings seem to look pretty grainy and run at low resolutions (what line interval did you use). When you have time could you run then at smaller line interval - like 0.10mm/0.08/0.06? Thanks

    Thanks for the video. I am still on the fence about buying one of these. I have access to several other lasers (all CO2) at my local makerspace. This would be my first diode laser. I haven’t seen any reviews of this machines ventilation system. Any suggestions on this would be helpful. Also, no one has commented about the noise level of this machine. I would really like a machine that could be placed into a small home office environment. Noise, and fumes could potentially force me to place my future set up out in the garage. That means extreme heat, and cold. If noise and fumes could be controlled, the next concern I have would be the longevity of the laser diode. How long would this last before needing to be replaced, and how much would you expect that to cost? Then my final concern not addressed in any video is vibration. How stable of a table would you need? The big CO2 lasers I have access to are shaky beasts. They are big, metal, and very heavy and they all shake quite a bit while in use. Again, thanks for the video. Frank from Charlotte, NC.

    This thing is massively overbuilt yet, on sale at time of commenting, at 899, it is an insanely awesome value. Even at the 1099 non-sale price, since it comes with everything you need, it is an amazing & insanely awesome value as well. Is it belt run under those things? Why is the x axis complete replacement needed to replace the laser, though? :P It is an awesome laser. First one I saw that makes me wish I had that instead of my 10w xtool d1 pro. I have the p2 & f1 on order right now, too.

    So air assist is not automated with light burn? That’s unfortunate. I like that feature in the scuplfun s30 I have. That’s one of the reasons I bought that one. I’m still buying the roly tho but it’s good to know I’m going to have to learn when and how to turn on the air assist at the appropriate times.

    • @BusterBeagle3D
      @BusterBeagle3D  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The air assist will turn off and on in Lightburn. What I was talking about was the volume of air. I like to trickle the air even while engraving to keep the lens clean. On some of my more recent machines I could adjust that on the fly which was what I was talking about.

    As someone who is looking to start a business using a CO2 laser, what can you tell me that this can or cant do when comparing it with other lasers in the 20 Watt range? I have been looking into the Xtool as of recent. Anything i should consider before making a decision? Programs, material allowance, bed size, etc... anything notworthy that this cant do?

    • @BusterBeagle3D
      @BusterBeagle3D  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This is not a CO2 laser, this is a diode laser. The big difference between the two is the wavelength that they operate at. A CO2 laser can cut clear materials while a diode laser never can no matter what the wattage is. Wattage of the diode laser really comes down to strength of cutting and speed because many times the laser can work faster since the beam is more powerful. The trade off to that though is size of the laser spot. A 20W laser may have a much larger laser spot size then a 5W laser meaning you can get better detailed engraving with a 5W laser vs a 20W laser. Now that difference might not be immediately noticeable since we are talking less then half a mm but it's still there. If it's cutting ability of non-clear materials then the higher the wattage the faster it will cut and in less passes.
      Most lasers use Lightburn so it's pretty standard. Some have their own proprietary free software, namely xTool lasers but even those work with Lightburn as well.

    • @skr33nsav3r
      @skr33nsav3r 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@BusterBeagle3D I appreciate the quick and detailed response! If you were to pick one to start with, which would be your first pick and why? My guess is it's this one here. But is cutting plastics and glass really that necessary? I suppose that would depend on the desired business product. If I were to cut thin slats of wood for wall decorations, burning in images, engraving into wood materials, which would be the best choice?
      It sounds like I should start with Lightburn as it's compatible with most machines. Is this program able to do the spinning or curved features of some laser machines?
      Thanks again for all your help.
