Thomas, I discovered your channel a few weeks ago and have been enjoying it immensely. Not only do I appreciate your eye for art (as with the boat), and the excellence with which you execute it, but I've very much appreciated the generosity and clarity with which you share the craft behind the art. Well done sir! Should you find yourself in the Pacific Northwest again, I'd be honored to share a pint or a meal with you, and to show you some of the splendors of Washington state's Olympic Peninsula.
Great photography and fab location! Loving the Patagonia content you all look like your having a great time! what it’s all about getting out, enjoying yourself with the bonus of amazing photography thrown in.
Lovely video Thomas. I love the first image of the boat where the life of the boat and its fading presentation match and in fact it tell the story of the boat rightly.
the first picture didn't really connect with me but the effort for the second one got me smiling again, getting them back to the level of the rest of the videos on the channel. love it!
and this is why you'll always end up getting the more interesting shot ... because you're going to get out there and try the shot you imagined. Good for you Thomas.
Love the image of the submerged boat, Tom, that must have been a tricky shutter speed to judge as it was moving about quite a bit! Great final result and you kept it togther damn well in the piece to camera while you were stood in the cold water getting heckled by Greg and Brendan!!
Thomas Heaton, great shots. I loved the boat's shot a lot. At times, when conditions are not great, I recollect your words, "Shoot the conditions" ☺️☺️☺️ Great video, Tom
1:44min .....EVEN THIS HAD BEEN AN REALY AWESOME SHOT.........at Iceland you will find so many spectacular formations of a cloudy sky, you properly wouldn't find anywhere else on your beautiful Mother Earth. I once shoot for 6 weeks with an 4x5 inch Wooden Film-Fieldcamera all around Iceland. It was the MOST FUN I ever had photographing in my entire Live.
I love the closeup of the sunken boat. I was wondering if you would eventually grab a 100-400 lens after you seemed to like it so much in Africa. It’s replaced my 70-200 in my landscape kit bag because of the additional compositional opportunities it brings. It’s also wonderful for closeup macro type work when the mood takes.
Will the 2X extender not get the results you need. Just acquired a 70 - 200 EF L for which I already have an extender from a previous lens. I would value your words on this Thomas
Another winning video and set of images. One tech question: I've always been told to leave a lens' IS off when tripod-mounted because the IS may actually engage, causing motion blur. Was it the wind that necessitated using IS on a tripod? No issues caused? Thanks.
That last image, where your waded out to the boat, is the cover image for your next book. I can totally see that. It rocks! And how many people have a similar image, getting that close to the boat? Well done!
Great video and nice images. I especially like the last one. I am normally not a big fan of human elements in the landscapes, but that one was worth the efforts.
Brilliant video. You are so much more relaxed and it shows in your images. Love your outfit - it should be on the cat walk! Blown highlights on the legs!! 😂😂😂
As usual, beautiful images, well worth the experimental attitude. Hard when you have 2 hecklers behind you though!. PS; rather than get a 100-400mm lens would it be better to get the x2 extender for the canon 70-200mm? I have it in my kit and it works well. Also much lighter than carting around another large lens. What do you think? Cheers.
Get wet, get dirty, get insulted, get mocked. In the end, all you know is that you got back home happy as a child, because you did what you love. That's why I consider landscape photography my reason to live. Cheers Thomas! Dario
Your boat shot is my favorite of the bunch, and i have two questions... Regarding the boat image, did you give consideration to the length of rope from the boat to the lower extremity of your image in terms of either removing it, or trying to position the rope to exit at the corner? Second question...at the 4:05 mark in this video, you mention having the image stabilization ON...something that I've heard many times should be OFF if the camera is already stabilized on a tripod. You obviously felt like the wind was strong enough that it was overpowering the tripod? Do you normally have stabilization OFF or ON with your tripod shots (most everything you demonstrate is tripod mounted shooting).
Amazing how you used the lighting from your legs to brighten the boat. You Sir are an amazing photographer...lol...whatever it takes to get the shot.
Thomas,

…and that's why you get the shots you get. You went the extra mile for a shot that no one else has. Bravo.
Such a small body of water and they put a lighthouse th- oh, it's just Tom's legs :D
Oh, the boat photo🙌 That's absolutely amazing Thomas! Thank you for being a great source of inspiration🙏
I have to say I am really enjoying the format of these videos with the photographs shown again at the end with the settings listed.
Agreed. It's very interesting to see the choice of settings.
That boat shot had perfect composition. Not only the boat itself but the lines of the rope too. Just spot on. Excellent work!
Your videos are a frequent source of inspiration and motivation for me. Your manner of appreciation for photography channels my own.
The boat photo is phenomenal... Just the right amount of blur to covey a bit of motion. Beautiful.
That boat shot is so atmospheric!! Brilliant work and thanks 🙏🏻 once again.
Dude you should totally get the 100-400 when you get back to the UK. Also hilarious ending. Cheers for adding in the Canadian's Humour.
Greg Snell “turn off the lights” epic 😂😂😂
Meanwhile, you're vlog-bombing your own blog behind him.
good thing he didn't show you the full moon, you can't unsee that kind of thing!
You shouldn't be allowed infront of a camera 🤣🤣
Another great video! I really like the shots of the boats. The extra effort you put in paid off and I am inspired by it too.
Great photography and fab location! Loving the Patagonia content you all look like your having a great time! what it’s all about getting out, enjoying yourself with the bonus of amazing photography thrown in.
Fantastic second boat shot. Went to Patagonia in 2018 and this is very evocative of the mood of the region.
Lovely video Thomas. I love the first image of the boat where the life of the boat and its fading presentation match and in fact it tell the story of the boat rightly.
love the shot from the water. totally worth the chill
Incredible effort - thanks for showing us how to have fun. Great photos.
I love that last photo with the boat is phenomenal.
I love it sooooooo much.
Fantastics shoots, thanks for sharing your workshop, and long life to your channel !!

Really love every photo in this video
I love this motion in the water
Simply Stunning image of the boat
Like I always say “do it for the shot!”
Good on you for following through on your idea!
Now that’s the spirit. Don’t listen to those guys commenting about your legs. Great job on visualizing and getting a wonderful shot.
Harkens back to the image of you, Hardcastle, Gibbs, and Page on a frozen lake in Canada. A picture I can't unsee. Rock on!
Well Done Thomas......A great Man - Up Job.......and the photos were great too.
The last photo of the boat is awesome! Great job!
Very enjoyable video. That last boat shot is stunning!
the first picture didn't really connect with me but the effort for the second one got me smiling again, getting them back to the level of the rest of the videos on the channel. love it!
The last boat image is just superbly moody, nice work :)
And it worked! Beautiful photo!
"... which Brandon kindly loaned me for this shoot" Brandon: "Where is my 100-400?" ^^
You were right to go back for the second image of the boat. Its lovely. I'd say the water was freezing. Fair play.
Such an entertaining video and such extremely beautiful photographs. I really do like and appreciate what you do, Thomas!
I love that photo of the boat ! So moody !
Excellent pictures as usual. Great set of pins as well!
Stunning shots, lovely.
and this is why you'll always end up getting the more interesting shot ... because you're going to get out there and try the shot you imagined. Good for you Thomas.
These kiddos need to show some respect when the master creates another piece of art. 😀
lovely images Tom!!!!!! love that shot of the boat
Two words. SPRAY TAN. Love the shots. As usual flawless.
Love the image of the submerged boat, Tom, that must have been a tricky shutter speed to judge as it was moving about quite a bit! Great final result and you kept it togther damn well in the piece to camera while you were stood in the cold water getting heckled by Greg and Brendan!!
Love the colours and textures in that mountain photo I can see why you stopped.
That last shot of the boat, definitely worth getting the pins out and braving what must have been bitterly cold waters.
Your friends are so mean. But I agree, the legs are very British.
The last image is beautiful, I am glad you took it.
Stunning shots! That's commitment to your art!
The camera settings beneath the photos is quite useful. It definitely helps me understand what settings will produce what type of image. Great video!
All those pictures look just great. Loved the boat one.
Been watching for ages, that shot of the boat is one of the best I’ve seen from you in my opinion! Would love to see more abstract shots from you
I would have jumped in with you. I love subjects like that. Truly beautiful and telling a story.
Excellent Thomas. Loved that you were able to a completely different composition of submerged boat and the sky.
The last photo made me emotional. Wow.
Love the boat image.
Tom, you nailed the boat shot. Grats
At least with it being cold you did not have to worry about touching the water lol. The boat shot is amazing really like that
Nice images Tom, I’m a fan of the image review and settings at the end of the video. Thanks
The second boat shot is so much better compositionally that it was definitely worth stripping down for the shot-- even with all the teasing. 😊
Thomas Heaton, great shots. I loved the boat's shot a lot. At times, when conditions are not great, I recollect your words, "Shoot the conditions" ☺️☺️☺️ Great video, Tom
Love the sunken boat shot
That last pic was the best. Great job
You are the man Thomas.
@Thomas Would a photo stack technique to combine a sharp image of the boat and then motion blurr of the water worked?
1:44min .....EVEN THIS HAD BEEN AN REALY AWESOME SHOT.........at Iceland you will find so many spectacular formations of a cloudy sky, you properly wouldn't find anywhere else on your beautiful Mother Earth. Ive experienced too much image quakity degredation in my photos from the 2xq
Totally worth the strip. Epic boat image!
Great commitment to your art Thomas. Lovely images 😍

Epic Thomas 👍 Great commitment to the shot!
That sunken boat image is killer! Well worth all the white leg jokes and frigid water! Great video Thomas..
Your videos are my most favorite videos
It is totally worth it to going in the ice gold water for the gorgeous image you had made of that boat.
That last image, where your waded out to the boat, is the cover image for your next book. I can totally see that. It rocks! And how many people have a similar image, getting that close to the boat? Well done!
Really admire your dedication to get the shot Thomas and I’ll bet that was cold ☃️
Love the boat photo!
That last boat photo is super cool. Totally worth getting wet.
The boat picture was totally worth it!
Now I understand why they use filters to control the light so often ;) The boat shot was just awesome.
Lee filters.... the greatest.. oh an that hat..... i need one...
You always go the extra mile! Good job!!
Great video and nice images. I especially like the last one. I am normally not a big fan of human elements in the landscapes, but that one was worth the efforts.
Loved how you captured the image faraway mountains with the slopes aligned in a parallel fashion. As for them legs, no meat on a thoroughbred :)
Great images! You're a brave soul!
Hi Thomas, realize you had been using the f-stop bag for quite awhile now, wonder what’s your take on it and how well it holds up?
Excellent! You are dedicated to getting the shot, and you did.
Great vlog awesome pics......yep agree 100-400 essential bit of kit!
Brilliant video. You are so much more relaxed and it shows in your images. Love your outfit - it should be on the cat walk! Blown highlights on the legs!! 😂😂😂
The last image is just epic. hope it makes to next year's calendar.
btw, as an APS-C shooter, i'm really happy with my 55-200 XD
The trousers's shot turned out amazing! Greetings from Brazil.
I need a print of that boat photo ASAP. One of my favorite images of yours of all time sir. You've been killing it lately. Great work man!
Loving the song choices!
As usual, beautiful images, well worth the experimental attitude. Hard when you have 2 hecklers behind you though!. Ha, ha. I love dedication. Go Thomas.
Amazing shot of that boat. I think you did the right thing taking off those trousers. Keep up the good work :-)
Get wet, get dirty, get insulted, get mocked. In the end, all you know is that you got back home happy as a child, because you did what you love.
That's why I consider landscape photography my reason to live.
Cheers Thomas!

I shrieked. That water looked quite fresh.
