Best bang for the buck .....E85 ! Yes it requires 30% more fuel for bike or car to run properly . Pump gas has a stoich value of 14.7 and e85 is like 9.7-9.9 , the horsepower is gained due to E85 being 30-33% oxygenated fuel !!! C85 is 90% ethanol and it's that all the time . Chris next time you do a E85 tune , throw some C85 in for testing 👌
Love watching you work your magic and gain HP!!!! Just got my gsxr750 flashed by you 2 weeks ago. Best single thing you can do!!! Hands down!!!! Thanks again..
E-85 Is absolutely the Shit for boosted applications. I went from 410Hp to over 450Hp in my 2008 EVO 8. However it is true I had to constantly run a laptop for data logging to fine tune.
Ethanol content actually is changed for coldstart ability in the colder months. Ethanol has less volatility which makes starting engines difficult when it’s cold. Nice gains, thanks for sharing
Love the video My bike made 181 on 93 and when I switched to x85 made 204 @ 87 torque Drove Jullian bike and yes there’s a big difference with his bike
On my 12:1 supercharged F150 Coyote 5.0, A switch from pump 91 to our local E70 (with tuning) my eighth mile went from a 7.7@93-95 mph, to a 7.3 @ 101, same boost / pulley ratio. It seems like the higher the cylinder pressure whether it's from boost, compression ratio, or a combination of both, the more beneficial Ethanol becomes. When the truck was NA it also benefitted from Ethanol, but not to the same extent. They also command quite a bit more timing advance on Ethanol vs 91 Gasoline from looking at the datalogs. Coyotes are blessed with front wideband 02 sensors, and also factory knock sensors to pull back timing if knock is detected.
I can’t tell you how much cooler the motor runs and how much power it picked up on E-85 is by far one of the best bangs for the dollar!!!🌽🚀 Thank you Chris Moore💪🏻🔥🚀 MooreMafia 4 Life…
Too bad there wasn't a way to add a flex fuel sensor like cars and trucks do that would automatically through ECU monitor ethanol content and adjust fuel and timing curves.
Generally, E85 gives 15 - 27% less fuel mileage while saving 25% cost. It's basically a wash economically and may articles say it costs more in the end. Interestingly E85 has some 1/3 less energy per gallon, but do to higher octane (more like diesel) you can give it a high state of tune and actually extract more torque and horsepower when tuned accordingly. The real advantages are it potential tuning characteristics, think alcohol fueled race cars, and it's assumed to be better for the environment. Like Chris says, the fuel changes dramatically with the seasons, much more than normal pump gas, but primarily in colder states, I believe. Gasoline blends actually vary around the country by season and region, mostly do to EPA and local regs.
Really enjoy the dyno videos Chris. It really shows the details of not only how much power the bikes make..but how they make it. Which I think gives a lot of people a sense of direction when buying a bike for their goals! S.n. Maybe a E85 vs Mr12 comparison???? :D
Common misconception it actually has excellent cleaning properties that can cause clogging when clearing out gunk from gasoline. Adding an aftermarket E85 filter before switching can help reduce that potential. While it!s true older vehicles can suffer damage to the fuel system. Vehicles made 1994 and later are designed to handle ethanol.
Gunk is one, the other is many will not upgrade the pump and injectors . When flowing the system , it’s best to treat it like methanol for flow requirements. Use the barrel not the pump fuel for extra protection against blend variations.
@@ecc5119 100% correct I guess I assumed that was common knowledge 🤷♂️ when switching to E85 the A/F ratio is significantly different you must switch out the pump and injectors! I only mention the filter cause I missed it at first and clogged my brand new injectors. If I Remember right it was a $100 fix to have them cleaned. But it ran great afterwards!
I ran a methanol outlaw drag car on methanol 2k plus hp , it is possible to change the basket screens on injectors but match flowing is best. I always ran my weakest and strongest injector in the same cylinder to help match flow between cylinders. the new screw in injectors are awesome at preventing leaks under 100 pound plus boost pressures.
E85 is the best bang for your buck. It’s basically 112-114 octane out the pump. On my turbo truck it’s a 100+hp gain. When the blends change between seasons I just check it with a e85 tester kit. Stay on top of maintenance ie run a tank of 93 through it once a month and watch fuel filters and you’ll have no major problems
This was very informative thanks for making this video awesome to hear those bikes wide open I think a bouncing around between tuning, racing and vlogs keep it fresh
U guys are so lucky with the price of fuel! Here in the uk we get robbed more than $2 for only 1 litre of fuel. At least ur getting a gallon for ur money. Our fuel is normally around 97 ron. Keep up the great vids guys.👍👍
I love your dyno videos, please keep making more of them. They are re very informative! Got my 2019 ZX6R flash by you and it runs amazing! This would not have happened if the Dyno videos weren’t there
Great video glad your doing an E85 tune I’m a huge fan of E85 I use to run it in my Subaru STi huge power gains for turbo vehicles as well BUT glad you threw in that knowledge that the time will change once it gets cold Ill just stick to MR 12 and pump
10:51 watch the mph on this thing and tell me if you could hold onto it under full acceleration... thing's savagely pulling and the mph is flying up. For those wondering it's top left guage on the screen
I make my own RACE FUEL from a little somethin, somethin I buy in the hardware store. Yes, the results are dyno proven PHENOMENAL, but the results can be catastrophic as well. You really have to know what you're doing. T.S. RACING 🇺🇸🏍💪 Chris, you did a great job on the A/F with that E85 tune, and stock injectors. 👍
Chris. If it's dialed on gas. 25-28% gets you close for first e85 runs. On most NA setups. Wanting to do my zx10 on E. Have tuned hundreds of cars on E. Great fuel in so many ways.
It only makes sense if you’re running race E85 because of the variation in pump E85. And there goes your $2/gal pipe dream. A custom ECU, fuel pump, injectors, and a tune to compensate for any/all ratios of ethanol to gasoline is what it needs to be truly usable on the street. It sure looks like an easy way to gain 10 hp, but it’s a compromise too.
That's pretty damn impressive. I'd like to see E85 vs MR12, SAME DAY/SAME BIKE. A nice comparison video of the two. Because there's no way I'd run MR12 on the street at $35/gallon. Lol
Here in Brazil we make ethanol with sugar cane that can make 7 times more ethanol than corn... Unfortunatly the US cold winter isnt good for sugar cane.
You bet E85 is a great alternative. You get a a substantial HP gain for a fraction of the cost of race gas. It's also clean burning. Oil stays clean, fuel system too. To me, it's a no brainer. Ethanol in my area never changes. I tested it frequently as I had a car tuned for E47. That would be 50% 93 & 50% E85 at the pump
That is a bargain hp gain and handy for classes like mine where oxygenated gas puts it in a power adder bracket. I love the dyno stuff, we aren't all 100% woke on fine tuning.
Mix videos please. Great videos, keep them coming. I bet you could get views on how to fix the handle bar vibs on the new gsxrs. Lol. Thanks for all the great content.

Great video. My 1k hp Hellcat is on e85 also, love the stuff. One consideration for my car was the need for larger injectors based on the thickness of e85 in comparison to 93. Is this not the case on a bike?
Its not the thickness of the fuel its the volume you need to run to maintain stoichiometric equivalence. You run out of inje ctor duty cycle to flow enough fuel on E85 vs normal fuel
Looks great. Does the extra octane allow you to run more timing advance? Or does that not produce much extra horsepower on a bike? On a car engine you can get like 5hp extra per degree of timing advance (depends on the engine of course)

Tuning videos or racing videos, love watching both. Cheers, Pete from NZ.
Both types of video u love anything bike. I love learn more about them as well as watch the move
I didnt even have to watch the vid to give it the thumbs up, huge Chip fan for a long time. Im a dragbike guy with no boats lol
Keep the Suzuki stuff going, and I have to say I like the kawi stuff to , Good content
You need to run VP C85 ( stable Ethanol ) or Ethanol R.. The bike IAT need to be bit higher to get all power and need more timing!
Pump e87 that off gasses to 87% is just as good as any race blend. As long as the motor is 173° it’s good to go
I enjoyed the dyno tune , very entertaining and informative
More to come!
Yesssssirrrr Julian mad happy with the results
Nice gains. Hope you spent some more time on < 100% throttle. Definitely heard that lean crackle @ 10:50
Not many bike dyno bragging rights so that’s awesome. I’d like to go E85 on a 600.

About time cm$, you know I've been waiting lol
Looks great. Does the extra octane allow you to run more timing advance? Or does that not produce much extra horsepower on a bike?
On a car engine you can get like 5hp extra per degree of timing advance (depends on the engine of course)
You can run more timing on regular 91 and be close to the same as ethanol. About 4 degrees advance (usually) is the most you can do to a stock motor
I do believe the extra octane allows you to run more fuel pump 93 around 13:1 afr vs e85 around 11:1
Rule of thumb, you can run more boost, compression, or timing with ethanol vs 93. In my experience, it's great stuff.
Cool to see you do more racing and riding vlogs.
that bike looks bad ass with that color
Where is the new Busa dyno 😥
You did an amazing job with the bike homie congrats
Chris i like both dyno and the racing so i would prefer both
love the dyno videos with an occasional race video
Chris great video. You got me thinking with the pc5 you could use the 0-5v analog input connect to a flex fuel sensor and setup the pressure table as a compensation table for the ethanol content. 👍
I played around with pump e85 in my 2012 zx14r. Always chasing my tail with the tune after each refill. E85 in australia can vary between e75-e95.
I always take a sample & use one of those little glass ethanol content testers each time. Then dilute e85 with 98 octane to get e70. This helps if injector duty cycle is maxxed out.
