Got my 2016 Zx6R Flashed by you and I was shocked at how much of a difference it made. More power through out the band and just runs smooth, feels like a whole new bike. From send to return was less than a week. 1000% worth it.
Now that's how a Kaw suppose to perform. Can't wait to see with the final Mods what she do. I know I know you're a Suk guy but you got to love the power that's unleashed with that flash, FINALLY. 😆
06 owner here. After some part searchin, part swappin, cam tuning goodness; and mainly information on the various 10r forums; these 2nd gen 10r can make some serious power. Is it dam near 200rwhp? probably not. More like 175+ rwhp. I love the way my 06 sounds with the Hindle Carbon Fiber exhaust on it. Just need to send Moore Mafia my ECU for that tune!
@@greenturbo1047 you know what they say. " No replacement for displacement" Gen3 Cams, gen3 head swap, degree the cams and be $xxxx into it. Or Add a turbo and fabricate/mod it to fit. Still be $xxxx into it. IDK.
@@MattBruzdziak built my own turbo kit for around 2k said and done. 220+ whp on 7.5 psi. If you have the abality to fab your own parts and the knowledge to do it correctly its not that expensive.
Bad ass video. I'll be sending you my ECU for my '22 before long. Then again, my Pops lived in Charleston. May be worth booking a dyno day and trailering the bike from Pittsburgh 🤔 Are there big differences in the tunes between a mail in and an actual dyno tune?
It's the entire brains of the engine. It's more interesting that Kawi has locked people out of the restrictions and fuel map so no one could see or fix what they were feeling. I'm ripping the ECU out today and sending it Chris's way today.

Update a couple weeks after tuning. 8.7 @160+ with a really crappy 60'. Weather has been horrible since then, so not any more testing. Feels completely different, strong from launch to top end now
Chris...3:16...For 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear are you making the entire table 100% power at 100% throttle for every rpm and throttle position? I am just curious as the bike would be up in the air no? I totally understand unlocking everything as you go higher up in rpm and throttle above 9k rpm. Just curious what that table looks like after tune. 👍

Bcs emissions, noise, fuel economy, reliability etc. They build a beast to be able to stay on top of the game in the WSBK, then detune for multi layered safety on user end. Also, there is no legislation in place in Murica to prevent 18yo kid from buying one off the showroom floor, unlike in Europe, so they get detuned for legal protection too.
It's a race bike thats made to be safe on the street.Its up to you to unlock it on your own.You sign your own death wish basically,manufacturers won't be legally responsible.
Would said process prevent this type of machine to pass a state inspection? How does this affect gas mileage or wear n tear on components and electronic controls etc??? Can someone do one of those "pros and cons" thingys? My uncle Ben once said, "with more power comes more responsibility" right before he had his "ecu flashing" procedure done. Some neighbors even claimed to have spotted him on a machine very similar to this one as he disintegrated into nothing from going so darn fast!

Hi Chris great vid as usual, but the throttle valve restrictions!!!.. (. 200bhp ). in 1st and 2nd gear is obviously to stop you flipping the thing. But in the upper part of the Rev range !?? It seems common across most manufacturers. And it’s got me wondering, if you miss a gear, or as seems to be a trend at the minute purposely hit the limiter won’t the inertia of the crank take it past the hard Rev limit and maybe clip a valve or two, …and if so do these ECU’s have a lower hard stop in neutral??
It's noise abatement, that's why they're universally restricted up top. Most don't have neutral limiters lower than moving. Can't over Rev on power easily, ECU cuts fun with a hard stop.

Question for you Chris, are each year models ECU different even if Kawasaki doesn't make changes? In another words, will the 2022 ZX10R be the same as the 2021?
The ECU might be slightly different. The 05 636 and 06 636 are the same chassis, but the ECU is slightly different due to an issue where the 05's ECU was overheating and shutting off the bike.
For comfort torque pulling power and two up definitely the hayabusa Where the ZX10R is more uncomfortable more hunches over riding position be better handing than a hayabusa but you have to rev the bike more to get to move power more up higher in the rev range
So question. I just replaced the exhaust on my 2022. Had roughly 100 miles on it. Only threw a slip on on. But now at low speeds it won’t do it. If I’m idling in traffic or something my RPMs won’t stay steady. They’ll end up jumping between 1k and 2k making it a bitch to go slow. Is that from removing the butterfly valve in the exhaust? And can it be tuned out?
Curious does the zx10r and zx10rr have Variable valve timing I looked online but couldn't find anything on them? I saw the GSXR do and I know CBR does. Not sure on the R1. And damn that bike sounds nasty
Hey, I am professionnal tuner and the advice I can give you is go : Woolich quickshifter or Cordona (same quickshifter) or Annitori or HM. They are prefect
Say you have a bike that noone makes a tune or "crack" software for, if you were able to, if not the first, to crack the ecu, when you take off the Throttle plate restrictions, does the ecu add fuel as if it knows it's now using full throttle, or do you have to manually add fuel to give it fuel to match the extra air from opening the throttle bodies completely?
On modern bike like this (RideByWire aka ET) removing the throttle plate sort of makes the bike a diesel engine (just joking, but I guess you took the point). Removing the STP ("legacy" motor managment) will not do anything regarding the fueling table in the ECU.. The ECU will continue to "govern" the STP even if they are removed from the linkage.. But it would remove any restriction in the ECU (closing the STP at high revs aka "nutering").
@@TL1000S97 thanks for that, pretty much answers my question then. I know about tuning when it comes to cars, but my car is basically an adaptive/self learning ecu. So if I plug in my laptop and remove an 80% throttle restriction and allow it to open 100% at full throttle and high rpms, the cars ecu will automatically adjust a/f ratios to match the larger throttle opening/higher air flow. I'm just new to this woolich type stuff I guess and want to make sure. I believe my bike is commanded only 75% open on throttle plate at 10,000 rpms, when it will only make full power from there and above at 100% open. Was just making sure when I command it to open more that it won't make the current fueling commands already programmed in go crazy. Thanks for the answer. I'll try to report back on drive/rideability whenever I get that done in the next couple weeks
She sounds like my resistance to anything electric. The complicated build, besides the design, is also to deter people from disassembling it. It is a fast machine after all, so aside of dealer servicing money, it is probably to prevent kitchen style modifications too.
Electric vehicles are generic, I like feeding my bike dinosaurs when she's hungry. There's so much tinkering you can do to an I.C.E. where as you hold a couple buttons down till it beeps and you just lost soul
Watching from England. I own a krt version and just trying to hang on to it at 9k is hard enough. Will it be rideable with a extra 100 bhp at top end.. Needless to say the bike needs the flash for a decent low end and mid range power. Decent videos tho
Unfortunately those kind of gains are not to be expected on eu bikes, us bikes are much more restricted so there is more to gain! but also eu bikes do profit from a flash, especially that ignorant deceleration cutoff that needs to be put off :-)

When changing to velocity stacks. Can you get more hp if you install block off plates as well vs just doing the velocity stacks only?

No you can't get rid of the restrictions with a Power Commander, it needs to be flashed for that.

I'd like to know that too. It's sometimes downright dangerous when you are expecting steady throttle and the bike starts jerking.
