    I've just repaired a leaking O ring on the flush pipe of a concealed toilet system. The job took 15 mins but took over 3hrs to get access to the back of the toilet! The worktop had been fitted & tiled on leaving no access to the back of the toilet! Nightmare! Another great video from plumberparts!

      We have a leak under toilet and access is very tight. Looks like small leak for a few tears that has now found a way into floor above sitting room. The cistern is completely tiled in, no access except for pulling out toilet unit. The clean flush water pipe connection to toilet is where the leak is. The end of the pipe was cut off unevenly. I have made that smooth and lubed up the connection but no access to push pipe in the only way is to line it up and push in toilet unit. I think it is not making a good connection still. So . . I'm starting to take off tiles! Great fun, kind of.

    Good tip on the ‘strap on boss’ installation. I’ve had a few of the solvent weld boss’s not take properly before and couldn’t figure out why. I’ve seen in various USA videos they usually use a primer the pipe with a solution before the solvent weld, but that doesn’t seem that common in the UK I’ve found.

      Just for your interest , I work with industrial plastic pipe and its always cleaned with a cleaner , don't know why this doesn't apply to domestic .

    • @jackryan6122
      @jackryan6122 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      you are supposed to use a cleaner but people rarely do, i recon the reason the strap on boss may not take too well is because your just pushing them together and thats it , unlike a pipe and socket where you twist them together which allows both the socket and pipe material to fuse into each other , otherwise your just putting glue on the top and allowing it to dry ....

    • @HillbillyRednecking
      @HillbillyRednecking 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      In the US, primer makes a big difference on PVC and is required by some building codes, almost a guarantee to have problems if you don’t
