    You could cut the 54mm hole before you put it on the drain pipe thus reducing the danger of a lost drill or plastic disk.

    Hi Andy,The down stairs toilet coming on well,it's not the nice's jobs to do but it's got to be done.I did not know about silicone lube on the rubber bungs that it dose not set.I all ways use a bit of washing liquid on all waist fittings. Its all good information and to see it done in another way, I all ways listen to other ideas , it may be better than my way.Great video looks like the next one going to be fun, with that plaster board looks like fitting square pegs in round holes. Have fun see you in the next video , take care mate.

    Well that could've gone a lot worse Andy, not surprised it took a day though, better to take it steady and as you said get organised before you start !
    Glad you sealed up the pipe, not only the issue with bad smells, I recently had to replace our downstairs bog as the builders left the floor so uneven that it rocked and made the close couple leak over time. Having levelled the floor I had to leave it to dry with the pan disconnected so shoved some newspaper down the pipe. later on while working in the next room I was aware of a faint noise, which when I got closer was clearly paper being torn from the other side ! I was very pleased when I could get the pan reconnected, I reckon the little devils can sense the warm air from the house and come looking !
    Just glad I'd blocked it and was there to hear the noise ! 😳😬

    Those rubber 50mm couplers easiest way to get them in is to use the PVC weld on them. Going to be a bear to get out again, but definitely never going to slip out or leak. If you do need it apart simply use the heat gun to warm it up to nice and toasty, and it comes apart, which works for the PVC welded fittings as well. Have taken plenty of them apart that way, though generally you decide which part you are going to destroy, normally the pipe, but sometimes the fitting is the one that had to do the destruction, as the pipe was well stuck in the wall.

    After you work on black water pipes, wash hands with anti bacterial soap then wash hands with hydrogen peroxide.
    You wouldn't believe how many little tiny scratches, nicks, scrapes and cuts will fizz meaning that there was possible infection starting.
    Soap won't clean completely but the peroxide will.

    • @GosforthHandyman
      @GosforthHandyman  ปีที่แล้ว

      Does that not take your skin off too? 🤔

    • @freetolook3727
      @freetolook3727 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, it's not acidic. Quite the contrary. You can also use hydrogen peroxide to whiten your teeth and clean your mouth. Swish it around like mouthwash then spit it out and rinse with water.
      Try not to swallow it. Even if you do though the most is you'll end up with a tummy ache.
      Also pour baking soda down your sink and bath drain traps. Then pour some peroxide down and it'll fizzle cleaning your drain traps out!
