Thanks for the very helpful advice Nick. I used the new knowledge to rectify what our plumber didn’t do when refitting the bathroom. They just used sealant to glue the toilet to the floor!

Thanks for the video. I'm not a plumber but fitted a few pans. I've seen other TH-camrs not putting the floor fixing screw in the middle of the floor bracket (4.50 in your video) as they claim the bracket could move over time. They actually drill 2 new holes in the plastic bracket - what's your view on that?

Hi GrumpyGrampa, Thanks for your comment and if you haven't already please don't forget to like and subscribe.
Im my experience I've never had the toilet brackets loosen over time using the method I've used in the video, I find a neat bead of silicon around the base / footprint of the toilet acts like glue and helps stick the toilet down, along with the toilet brackets the toilets not going anywhere. :)

Shame the tiler didn't have the same attention to detail as you as the tiles were not centred in the space.

I have an s trap toilet it's 195mm from the wall to the centre of the opening on the floor but all the new toilets say 80 to 180mm set out! What can I do to make it fit so I don't have a gap between the wall and cistern????

Our toilet is plumbed into the floor so this didn’t help

Our toilet is plumbed into the floor too, and this video helped me. Floor or wall, no difference really.
The pan connector that comes with a floor mounted toilet is an L shape but it has the same connectors on each end
