    Numbered subjectivity ...nothing else. It seems like you just put some numbers to your own subjectivity, the bands that you detected manually by a look. The same effect can be achieved in Windows Paint by painting dots. I don't find this sort of software useful, really. I think the main goal is to detect bands automatically based on some objective manners. But how to choose which method is right? Lets say you choose "rolling ball" to detect bands and then you set some parameters to determine the boundaries between "what is a band" and "what is not a band anymore". But you decide? Again subjectivity. You only put numbers to it, so it looks cool and scientific :) Anyway, it could be nice if you find those three parameters to detect bands, and then apply it for all samples. But when you have different gel images, there is a difference between them which means you must find specific parameters for each image. And that's the problem. You end up in detecting your bands manually, not automatically, so basically it didn't save your time. Really, Windows Paint+manually dotting the bands with different colours is easiest and quickest way... and still not worse than using software.
