Clarification pin! 1. As we mention, guppies do *not* lay eggs. So in our video, we are trying to emphasize how cool it is that they have live birth! You won't find eggs in the aquarium! (Making them great for the beginner aquarium as many times extra care must be taken for ensuring egg survival in egg laying fish). But a good comment made us realize we need to clarify: we are talking about what you see in the aquarium; however, we want to point out female guppies still carry eggs internally within their bodies. Which is interesting as they develop internally so that the babies can be born live. Sorry, we wish we had expanded the video to include that fact of development within the female guppy. 2. At 1:39 we should add the word tool so that it says "and that biotechnology tool is gel electrophoresis" as it's a tool used in the field of biotechnology, which isn't stated till end of video.
Hi! Do you have a video about blottings? Southern, Northern and Western blottings? I surfed the net to search the meanings and uses of the blotting techniques but it's too difficult for me to understand.
As a 23 year old working in research and running those gels almost every other day, I have to say this is the best explanation of the science behind it that I have ever seen!

@@SpecialAgentNoble77 these videos are resources, and most teachers (mine, at least) use them occasionally and do actually teach the rest of the time. They use them to go along with their lessons and labs since it's nice to have a variety of written, hands-on, and visual learning experiences.
Thank you so much. We've recently performed an electrophoresis lab, but our instructor never elaborated on why we were doing it or its importance. Again, thank you for clearing things up.

"Gel Electrophoresis is becoming a lot more common in classrooms these days." *My school:* "Haha look at this cool plastic skeleton we bought for $2K...We used to have a real human skull from a seller in India..."
Incredible video. Both informative and entertaining. Superb refresher for someone who studied biochemistry 10 years ago (me) and an accessible introduction for someone who didn't (my wife). Thanks!
You likely just saved my science test. I couldn't find any good video in my native language but your videos are so good I understood more either way. THANKS
Thanks for helping me to get through these hardles and helping me to understand these main topics of the biology I am truly grateful to you may god bless you with as much happiness as you wanted to achieve.
Thank you so much for this! AP Bio is a very difficult class because of the overload of information. I'm so glad that you break down these concepts to make it easier to understand!
I saw Stephen Hawking give a lecture about 20 years ago at Texas A&M around the time I was informed I had been genetically engineered. Love Texas A&M, but prefer the Stanford weather. I was also sent there around that time (age 10) for mathematics and science programs. I decided I'd return to Northern California as soon as I could for the purposes of enjoying the fine summer weather. When informed in a small child's voice that I would be homeless at 16, I decided to return and was quickly hired by MIT-Silicon, so I never had to worry about seeing my family again. I think this is common, the abolishment of the conception of the future outside of the industrialism that produced the genetically engineered young person before adulthood is reached. I'm sure no one else has regrets, though we have our griefs. We are often off the charts.
i have been studying this lesson for the past 3 days, and i finally got to understand it after watching this video, Thank you sooo much this was so useful.
Thanks for this video. I have been inspired by your videos to create my own medical education videos as of December 2019. I upload daily. I am a junior doctor in the UK. I hope you enjoy my videos as much as I enjoy yours!

Did you know...
Jelly in Indonesian language is Agar agar, and it makes sense because jelly is made of seaweed which has agarose
We say the same in English. Agar Agar is the jelly obtained from red algae. It's an English word, too.
Same in Tagalog, or 'Filipino'
It is also used in English as the jelly for growing bacteria in Petri dishes. It's only called agar, though.
cool
I had no background knowledge and now I actually passed my test! Please never stop making videos!
I love how you posted this a week before I learnt it in school. That way I knew everything already!
