I do a similar drill, but I just run up and down stairs to the basement and back to the kitchen eating pizza rolls. Also I don't actually run. Or go up stairs. My mom brings me pizza rolls.
Looks like a Pat Mac drill. Good job Imri! I’m working on similar drill. Jogging like this but all shots are 3 yards or less and taken on back, tumbling. Or on knee. Called the Kyle drill. Proven effective on battlefield and in the courtroom.
Nevermind shooting into the A zone, getting in shape to run this drill would be first and foremost. Breathing hard would put my shot placement all over the target looking like I used a shotgun.
That looks like a lot of FUN!!!! I get called out when I jog the 002 line down and back to set my target and the Old Timers give me shit about my Heart Rate, until they see my target after we go hot.

Love seeing shooters getting heartbeats up, not that I don't love lots of rounds down range, just most shooting ranges don't allow lateral movement. Great video as always.
i hardly think calling yourselves "normal everyday guys" is true but I see what you're going for. as Terry Crews said in Brooklyn Nine Nine, "Terry loves bloopers. they're hilarious, relaxing and humanize his heroes" love these drills and that humility. when I can afford ammo and find a range that'll let me do it, or get some property big enough, I'll give it a go.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 As usual, another great video presentation from the former USA SF SGM Karl Erickson. You have one of, if not the best, channel regarding military and civilian applications tactics. Very informative, enlightening, and entertaining! 💪🏼😎🇺🇲
"Now, Emry. We're going to hold you to a higher standard." *Emry annihilates the guy down range* "I'm sorry Emry. We have higher standards here." Well daymn! I have a new level of respect for everyone involved, and that is saying something because you had my respect before, but Emry is a scary dude and your "Higher standards" are now life goals! Excellent work as usual! Also that is a beautiful piece of land.
The fact he passed the normal, and got as close to passing the Karl standard, with 20+ seconds to spare is still impressive. So Imri, Karl might not have given you the POB, but I will
i was laughing till my side hurt when Karl started yelling in forgin tongue!!! that drill would be tough for us older viewers!!! i vote karl runs it for effect!!! BTW you have a beautiful orchard & property there!! thanks for sharing with us & be safe

Wow, not sure if Imri did a great job because he’s just a beast or because Karl was giving him the Sgt. treatment, but probably both haha. Thanks for doing drills without editing or scripting the results like other “influencers”. Great job Imri hope you had a Happy Hanukah!!
Sort of similar to the stages i designed at my outlaw 3 gun match. Maybe incorporate support side shooting..that always makes the guys grumble, but they come back formore!!
Very cool drill! It's motivating me to get into shape so that I could run that drill if I lived in a great piece of God's country like that! Look forward to more drills from other units!
I use the 2" drop piece to attach all my Safariland holsters to my belt. High than a leg holster, but lower than a belt holster, it is the perfect height for me.
This runs a lot like a stage I've wanted to see at a match: starts at 300yd, end after one pistol and one rife hit on a silhouette from anywhere inside 250yd, shooters choice (with stiff penalties for misses). Feel free to adjust the distances or add junk to run over/around, but the point is a trade off between how far and fast you sprint vs how long a shot you then have to take, with a bit of know-your-limits mixed in.
Genuine question: On the head of your human target, why do you have the target box as low as you do? I figured it would be better to have it higher to encompass more of the brain as opposed to below it. I have heard of people surviving headshots below the brain.
Hey Recon, keyboard warrior here, I believe it has to do with the location of the limbic system, the "reptilian" brain that controls the body's autonomous processes and shuts the body down in a snap if damaged.
I would think it had to do with the ocular cavity, that would be the area just under the eyebrow and down to the bottom of the nasal cavity. You don't want to hit the forehead or the teeth as they are very hard to push through. Semper Fi
A shot to the upper cranium (hardest bone in the body) can possibly be deflected if there's any angle, and a shot to the upper brain (even if lethal) could still cause a reflex shot from the victim thanks to lower brain function. That's why the forehead isn't the best place to aim. Plus, that area would be covered by a helmet in a military scenario. Instead you aim lower to hit the brainstem on the other side of the head. The bullet has softer bone and tissue to get through, and causes instant death without reflex. Between eye level and mouth, as centerline as possible, is an optimum shot.
We do similar test in the istaelu army - ask imri what yalam is - yeri aharei maamatz - shooting after workout. Thats as close as you can get to the battlefield
I think it's time to consider home defense. I need a drill where I move from the couch , to the recliner. Then have two beers, and engage a replacement window salesman at the front door. Call off the attack chihuahua to standby, and have a plate of nachos. Rest for 15 minute nap, and put on pants. Just saying..... (No, I was never in the Navy... what makes you ask?)
