  • To be effective under pressure, we need to train deliberately. Training deliberately when it comes to fighting for your life in the face of screaming bullets means practicing positions to get into that still allow you to be offensive with your bullet launcher. Here is how Zee “gets small”, deliberately. Enjoy.

Outstanding! Thank you, sir. I appreciate your comments about limited mobility. I'm in my 60's and not quite as flexible as I used to be. Still strong, but a bit stiff. I'll be practicing what you taught here.

    Great stuff right here!
Have been working on going into these different shooting positions for a little while, but this gives me some different techniques that may work better for me. At 62 I'm still in decent shape, just not as flexible as I once was. I can still get down in the ground & get back up, just not as fast, lol.

This kind of reminds me of a sonny puzikas class I've taken a few years ago back on the ak47. Using shooting displacements while shooting made me more fluid when clearing out buildings with only a pistol when working patrol state side responding to residential homes and commercial alarms by myself cause I didnt have back up and when working ep/psd I needed to be more agile.

Good stuff. A lot of folks don’t realize how effective you can be in these positions and more. You can figure out what works best for you, but above all, trigger discipline and muzzle awareness is a must. Notice the orientation of his weapon, always down range. Even if you dip it or elevate it a little, it’s still towards the threat. A good friend of mine also implemented something one time... we all know the range safety rules but also added another one to it. “KNOW THE STATUS OF YOUR WEAPON!” This is so true. I love shooting, I love firearms, I have several AR platform rifle builds, imma firearms instructor for our PD, SWAT, etc etc... but you can’t beat this type of training. This is some good stuff. Stay frosty, ladies and gents. Vet104 - out

Great video. I wish I would have worked on the finesse of mobility more when I was in. My knees would have thanked me now. What do you guys think of Rich Graham's stuff, where he kind of just uses the parachute roll to get from standing/running to prone? It's been quick on the flat range, but I'm wondering how it'll be with microterrain thrown in. Also, we should be calling the "supine" position the lateral decubitus position.

    • @ib3scope

Instructor Zee's heavy flow day on the range.
"Brokeback mountain some people use." You forgot the "reverse piledriver" and the "Cosby Sweater."
In all seriousness, I really enjoy the content and I like seeing new things I can add to my range activities. This has been my favourite presentation since you did the segment on drawing a concealed carry after having fallen or having been pushed down. Very practical but also just enjoyable. Stuff like this ads some variety and challenge to an afternoon at the range. As always, thanks for the content and the service.

I love how Zee’s shirt goes through stages
    1) sick grey t shirt
    2) light drizzle? Maybe a little sweat?
    3) ahh we’re rolling around on the ground
    4) Zee’s getting sweaty
    5) did Zee change shirts to a dark grey
    😂🤙🏻

And thankyou for another awesome video TR team

I enjoy how Z can be an effective, knowledgeable instructor, without being a patronising kuck. I'm an old man now, and am beyond the age of someone telling me I'm a, "Stupid, inbred, pos" when attempting to learn. He's likeable, and still comes across as a fkn badass.

Most Green Berets are. I’ve trained with 2, one for a little over 2 years in an ongoing tactical class. They are the salt of the earth. Always positive, helpful, patient, open minded and humble. At least that’s been my experience training with SF guys. Best on the planet. 👍

The "stupid inbred pos" is actually a really really shitty way to teach shit. It makes sense for basic but it really shouldn't exist past that except for things like stress shoots and on the objective

such important points, this is paramount for the older years.... a young man can manipulate the body to cover mistakes and recover quickly, with age comes the need for continued training and improvement of basic skills like these to compensate the old body that doesnt' move too well any longer.... some times the old bull wins not because of pure power and aggression, but because of experience and composure...... great vids
