This is a great shift/addition to your firearm content collection. I began following you after you posted your Scoped Carbine corse a few years ago. It would be really cool to see you continue this series with other notable training providers. Maybe Achilles Heel Tactical, Sheep Dog Defense, Osprey Shooting Solutions, etc next?
I appreciate both the “wrap the individual fundamentals into a coherent whole” and the “this is just a model, modify it as you see fit” attitudes. This and similar drills can be nearly infinitely modified by rearranging the elements and or adding elements per special requirements as was said. Learning the elements by rote is okay but you gotta have flexibility in applying them.
Excellent video! Not filled with a bunch of fluff - you boiled down the important parts and put them out there. Haley is a great trainer too! This drill was cohesive and realistic. I like that Haley mentions that it can be modified to suit the needs of various operators.
Good job training like this love it. I was in the Marines when none of this was available, and have to say really good training but will add this. Pick two weapons a long gun and a side arm pick the platform urban warfare or rural make sure you are good at long distances with both but for sure with you long gun ,then make sure your hand to hand is good with your side arm because my experience with the later is the reason why im commenting be smart move carefully and always keep your knife close
Love all your content !! There will always be a vast difference between reading on how to perform a certain task or set of tasks VS actually getting out there and doing them. Lucas Botkin doesn’t even have military training or a good record as a competitive shooter. Not saying he’s a bad shooter or anything, but he’s not the kind of guy most would want to take lessons from.
Excellent! TIP. When your heart rate is at high rate like after running, when you stop, take three deep breaths and exhale hard. Your stability will be much more better. Then engage.
I did the D5 pistol course with Travis a couple of years ago, and lessons learned there I still apply today. Great training and instructors. BTW, thanks Travis for installing the Skimmer trigger in my G19 that I purchased from you.
He makes a great point about how patrol officers, swat, military would do drills differently. One version of a drill might not be applicable to you. That’s an aware and experienced instructor right there.
Colion , you just know so much about guns and stuff, if somebody in this country knows how to stop all the senseless killings in schools it is you, hopefully you'll start to apply all your knowledge towards that goal brother
It looked easy, but seeing you panting on the last target engagement. They would have to get a wheelchair for me by the time I made it to the cars to do a tactical reload. 😂
I love simple target layouts like this. I never understood people with 150 steel targets all over the place. You just need a few and change the course from time to time
Great drill...but after 3-days you didn't just drop your spent mag during the tac reload?? Were you afraid you would hurt the $10 mag your $2k gucci sbr uses??
Great video once again Mr. Noir. I wish there were more affordable classes for the blue collar types out here.
