I took the 2023 SF V4S for a test ride in Bristol. I put my order in as soon as I got back to the dealership. I can't wait until it gets delivered in May 😁
2023 V4S bike owner here, you were asking for comments, so here I am, laying down some thoughts after 2000km on the bike, all on roads, mostly fast road riding. It's got more power than I could imagine. Much more than my previous R1, or my RSV4, and from lower RPMs. This was expected, that's why I bought it. Made perfect sense for me, as I wanted the full superbike experience with a more comfortable riding position. That said, here's where it gets tricky: upright bars, no wind protection and so much power means you cannot really tap into it's full potential. A perfect example is it has the wings to keep the front down above 150-180kph, but that's where you're starting to have REAL difficulty holding on to the thing. Also, this is where all license-holding hopes evaporate, in case you run into the police. This is a STREETfigher, after all. Another issue is stability on cornering: on a true sportsbike the clip-ons help you feel the front end, here I have little feeling on very fast corners, even wobbling on imperfect road surfaces. Even if I slide forward to keep the nose down I'm fighting it to keep the line, pulling on the bars (which you're forced to do because of the wind) upsets the chasis even more. Lightweight + upright bars + 208bhp + no wind protection = I miss my RSV4 in those very fast corners. The bike is a masterpiece of engineering, especially the engine, there's no denying that. Electronics are the best I've ever experienced. Yet, I'd still like to try the new Aprilia Tuono Factory or the RSV4 Factory, maybe even trading this for one (sidenote: the BMW is just too sterile for me and the KTM SDR too much of a hooligan - tried them both before buying the Duc). Maybe a trackday will change my perception of this bike...I'm planning on doing one soon. Hope this helps some riders out there who are considering buying this bike. Stay safe!
I believe you should have bought Multistrada V4 Sport instead. Maybe even Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak. It's pretty close in terms of speed and handling, but with many times more comfort and practicality. And, yes, it has decent wind protection.
I have this same feeling with my 2020 v4s around corners ESPECIALLY if roads are imperfect it can feel cumbersome around turns and harder to hold your line. That being said i love this bike and the challenge of taming it.
It’s the same model. Grey nero. Turn all the aids to max. Then she can be fkd into corners. I love the bars for cornering, way better (for me) than sports ergos. I’ll give you the wind at speeds over 220kmph, but just tuck like a sports bike. I’ve had her at 270 so far. That’s me in my profile pic though so maybe I’m built different 😂
@ 6:16. It has more HP in wet mode, than the competition has in full power mode. Bob has an incredible grin on his face HAHAHAHAHA This bike offer so much more than most rider can ever handle. I would buy one just to have it and dream of using it to its full potential but that will never happen. Knowing that all that power and performance is there is very satisfying. Plus the bike is gorgeous.
I've test ridden Streetfighter V4 back in 2020 when they first came out, including taking it up to it's top speed. I'll probably release the footage later. What really astonished me is the superb handling it has at any speeds, the ease of riding, and especially the unbelievable stability and maneuverability at high speeds, which I never encountered on any other motorcycles before (and I tested a lot of them). So, yeah, Streetfighter V4 is truly AMAZING bike in this sense. But at the same time it's extremely impractical, boring and uncomfortable (due to vibrations) to ride at sensible speeds, fuel thirsty because of the unreasonably high gearing, and very physically painful to ride at high speeds due to aerodynamic pressure pushing my helmet against my face. Therefore, my conclusion on Ducati Streetfighter V4: it is extremely cool and fun bike to take for a test ride for a couple of hours, but it's really not good and pointless bike to own and daily ride. And if you want a bike with almost the same level of handling, speed, and fun, but at the same time comfortable, practical, versatile, and awesome to ride almost everywhere - get a Multistrada V4 than. But that's for another story.
@@mirzapiteus, you should learn how to read and understand the entire message, instead of trying to cherry pick some phrase of it out of context. What part of "boring and uncomfortable to ride at sensible speeds" you don't understand?
Have had mine for 4 months...going back. Really lovely bike, but need to keep my license. I know this sounds odd, but it's good fun to wring a bike, you can't with this on the road. Spent a lot of time looking down at the speedo thinking oh sh*t. But the engine is fantastic and the handling is superb. Replacing it with a DesertX. More real world fun. Plus more comfortable if you are taller. Can't compare the two, but it's a better bike for me....and my collection of points 🤣 I would recommend the Multi over the SF too.
After riding the V2 and finding out how "backwards" these bikes are based on the price I don't see why anyone would spend more money for one of these for the road.
Like the Gentleman's agreement on speed, there should be an agreement between bike manufacturers to limit the Horsepower too..Or the bikes will get more expensive, less reliable and more tricky to ride by year. ABS TC Wheelie control That's only what we want on a bike. Not a super Computer on two wheels.
Ok for track but useless for road. Max can cruise on motorway 80 mph without having neck ripped off. Local guy bought kawasaki naked turbo...same sort of thing....he wrote it off ramming bus.
Pretty weak neck. Have you ridden one? Wind blast on chest not on head. No problem until over 200kmph, then you have to tuck/lean like sport ergos of course. Best bike I’ve ever owned. 8 hour days in saddle no hassle. I don’t track. Overkill? Yes, but, anything over 500cc is.

Sounds worth it!!!!

when speeding, is there too much wind? After 160kph..I own a busa and after 190, even on Busa I get too much wind&shit bro
Adam Child is the man, the bike is a stunner.
I have the 2022 Base and I love it. Rocking bad ass bike! 13500k ridden
I really like the way you have your content and the way you deliver it. Excellent job. Your one of my favorites.
Excellent Explanation good service
Thanks MM!
I like the Ben-Hur razor blades on the sides
Could you do a review of Suzuki GSX S 1000 EVO? I am thinking of buying one. I like the transformer's looks.

Chad's legend, honest & real about 2-wheelers, knows how to say it ,so ,nice one Bob, ta!!
It's the Speed Triple for me. I know all these bikes are better than I'll ever be and the Triumph is by far the best looking.
Proud over of an 08 triple
It's the M1000R for me 👊🏽

Did you consider the V2 Streetfighter? Many have said it's far more usable on the roads than the V4.
I don’t know. Ducati has done a fantastic job making the v4 tame when you want it
For the street, SFV4S or M1000R?
They said MotoGP wings were irrelevant to road bikes - somebody forget to tell the boys at Borgo Panigale
Hi Motobob, do you know when you will release your review of the new GSX-8S?
I’m missing the launch this week I’m afraid, so as soon as I can get one in the uk after that 👍

Still doesn't get a fuel gauge?
Are you buying these one

Just dumped so much money into my 2022 V4S (full exhaust, custom cosmetics, etc.) and I'm bummed about this.
Don't be bummed. Every year they make updates. The changes they made you probably wouldn't notice. You're tricked out 22 is just as nice.

Getting v4 with 2k miles for 16k mint
In reality, only Track Day Pilots need apply.
I'll buy a V4S, if Ducati will throw in a racetrack ;-)

Boring load of nonsense 😂
It is almost unachievable to use that 200hp, as a naked you can't hang on without any wind protection. Bit of a waste.
