    As an owner of a BMW S1000R, I always said that "why we should compromise?". What if I like having 200+ HP on a motorcycle but being more comfortable than in a super sport. I like the fact that Ducati did it, and I hope other manufacturers follow suit. Nice video, as always!

      I own a 2021 z h2 and my buddy owns a 2020 streetfighter v4. They're very different bikes. You can have fun on the zh2 riding your local twisty roads, but on the track it's not a fun bike at all. It's very slow and clumsy.
      It's not your typical razor-sharp hyper naked; it's a heavy and clumsy bike. It's kind of a "muscle car" of motorcycles.

      @@XenonG Yeah! I completely forgot about it. But yeah, that is another great example.

    I will NEVER go back to a bike with clip ons. Riding a naked with Motobars was a MASSIVE gamechanger for me. I am MUCH faster and MUCH 'calmer' on the track as well. It is just so much more enjoyable. I now have my dreambike, V-4 SP. I did, however, install a small windscreen on it made by Ducati, and I also changed the tires to Super Corsa SP, along with Termi slip-ons with re-map. Going to the track in a few weeks. Then 'Road Atlanta' for track day in the spring.

    An awesome insight and I agree with you 💯! As an ex Australian Superbike racer, I get tired of hearing about what people have spent to make their bikes go faster. From my perspective, “if” you need a faster bike simply buy one. The R&D manufacturers spend simply out weighs what a “backyard” mechanic can achieve. Yes Euro5 has made this different however this is simple proof. Great to also hear a naked bike that is capable on track compared to the conventional clip ons and fairings kit. 👍😎🇦🇺

    So Aprilia should put the RSV4 engine in the Tuono V4, put carbon wheels on it, stylema’s and call it the Tuono V4 SP… Now that would be the ultimate hyper naked….

    • @Fearless154
      @Fearless154 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aprillia literally put the tuono engine in the RSV4 1100 but tuned it a bit higher. I had a 2017 Tuono 1100rr and trust me, it doesn't need more power. It's very powerful and out-accelerates any superbike till the gears end up.
      Also, if you need 200HP on the Tuono, you can install the RSV4 airbox and it'll unlock 180rwhp, which is essentially 200hp at the crank, but most people like the Tuono so much mostly because of that raw midrange power and torque.

    I still find the STREETfighter line to be too compromised for the STREET. 80 miles of range, no fuel meter, and no cruise control are a non-issue for the track but deal breakers for the street. I'd like Ducati to live up to the streetfighter name and give us a more versatile street biased option.
    I'm kind of glad that the bike has these flaws, otherwise I'd be out of >$25k 😂

      You need to ride one. My buddy owns a 2020 model, and man, it's the perfect bike. It behaves so smoothly and nicely at lower rpm. The seat is one of the most comfortable seats I have ever experienced on a motorcycle, let alone a sporty one.
      But when you open it up, all hell breaks loose.
      In my opinion, the fuel gauge and cruise control are minor inconveniences when the bike rides so amazingly on the street.
      Also, I had a 2017 Tuono 1100rr and now a 2021 Zh2 and I never used the cruise control option. Ironically, I find it more useful on less comfortable bikes like superbikes.

    • @FadilKarim
      @FadilKarim 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Fearless154 I could live without the fuel gauge since you can always use the trip meter instead but Ducati really has no excuse not to put cruise control on such an expensive bike. There are $10k bikes that come with them stock now.
      I personally use cruise every time I'm on the highway on my MT 10 and I'd expect it on a >$25k street oriented bike. Every other hyper naked has one!
      And 70-90 miles of range is absurd. Why couldn't they just put a slightly larger tank to get at least 120 miles? I wouldn't mind the extra weight on a street biased motorcycle especially if I can get more range. I just feel like Ducati has the wrong priorities. I have a weekend trip coming up where there are stretches of twisty road with no gas for 150 miles. It's annoying enough that my MT taps out at 120 miles.
      I found the Tuono to be too uncomfortable, the Super Duke too unreliable, but the ZH2 has caught my eye. I hear it doesn't handle as well but is super comfortable. How do you like it?

    Genuine question. "Pegs 5mm higher but feel 20mm higher due to firmer suspension". Is that counter-intuitive - surely softer suspension would make the pegs feel higher as the seat height reduces more increasing the bend of the knee? Just keen to understand. Great review BTW.

    • @RRSmurf
      @RRSmurf 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The pegs are fixed to the frame so the pegs/seat/bars seating ratio wouldn't change due to any suspension change.
      I'm assuming that with firmer suspension, he's talking about ground clearance in turns...?

    Curious how big you think the marker segment is for a hyper super naked that can be competitive on the track ... at any price. As a 2-Ono owner, I wanted near-superbike performance and comfier on the street (and not in the "do not insure" category of insurance), and over 50, super nakeds tick all the boxes... and it's capabilities are far beyond most recreational riders anyhow ...
    But this, not sure the point of 2 seconds faster on the track ... Buy a $5000 R6 track bike for that ... Being faster around the track doesn't make it a better street bike ... better track suspension on a street bike the same ...If you're clocking lap times, what are you doing on a super naked anyhow?
    Next will be "Way to go H-D for making a Heritage Classic that's 2 seconds faster through the Starbucks drive-through ... like anyone was clocking it anyways ...
    Looks like you had a gas in an exclusive group... thanks for sharing but other than vicarious thrills, wonder what the real takeaway here is ... just traded the Tuono for a 1250GS... guess I'm just goin the other way!
    Great video stuff 44T

    The bike is gorgeous and Al looks really quick on it. But this review lacks epic wheelies. 4 stars.
