    I liked how you show us how to use it. But about adding detergent. Since that’s the HE/High Efficiency washer. HE washer uses less water than traditional washers. Detergent sitting on top of the clothes could lead to staining. Add detergent in the bottom of the washing basket BEFORE you load the clothes. Just letting you know everybody!

    Yay , I feel better about my purchase, the review's about it being extra loud and moving around kinda made me regret buying these but your video shows them in use and honestly it's not even bad 🙃. I'll update after a week and see how they are working for me.

      Most moving washing machine issues are from the washer not being level.

    I just bought the newer model of this washing machine today. Mine also has the "Deep Rinse" button. You stated in your vid that if you wanted to add more water for another rinse, you would have to hold down the button for 30 seconds. My question is when should I push down and hold the button? Should I do it when the "Wash" cycle is finished and ready to enter the "Rinse" cycle or do i do it just after the "Rinse" cycle is completed; ready to move on to the "Spin" cycle? Thanks in advance and thanks for uploading this informative video?

    • @DarkStoneCastle
      @DarkStoneCastle  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      3 seconds, not 30. You would do it at the beginning before you even start the cycle. I've actually never tried this, but here's what the manual says: "Press the Deep Fill button once before starting the cycle to add an incremental amount of water to the wash load. Holding the Deep Fill button for 3 seconds will provide the deepest fill level possible."

    I purchased this and had it delivered yesterday at 11:xxam. This machine was dancing on the floor. This sucker is loud. It sounds like a motorcycle running. During the washing cycles, I noticed the lights inside another appliance kept flickering to the same rhythm of the washer. I've never experienced that before. By 7pm (same day) I called the customer service store who advised to go to the store. Management claimed it is a leveling error that will be corrected tomorrow morning.
    My basement is unfinished. I kept hearing a humming sound near the washer. When I unplugged the washing machine, the sound stopped. Clearly this machine is still using enough power to cause this humming sound even when not in use ($$). The close didn't spin dry. So, I ran the extra spin cycle. It doesn't just do a spin. It rinses and spins (which I wish I'd known earlier).
    So far, I am not impressed with this machine. I'm going to see if tomorrow will improve the flaws I am experiencing; otherwise, I will be returning it.
    ****If you are shopping for washers, this one does not have a separate rinse cycle. When I noticed, the soap hadn't rinsed completely, I had to run another whole (small delicate) cycle just to obtain an extra rinse.

    It does have some vibration but I've noticed the material that the washer feet are made out of seems to be softer and spongier. It's very difficult to move it across a tile floor but in turn it seems to work in favor of the machine I am pleased so far. I liked your demonstration on this matter.

    Hi, I also just purchased this and tried my first cycle last night. When It started it did make a weird noise that caught me off guard however it changed over to very quiet. Is this still happening for you? & how long does it normally happen? I did not see the time yesterday to keep track due to it throwing me off at first. Thanks!

    @DarkStoneCastle Do you STILL have this washer 7 years later? Just curious and if so, have you had any issues with it? Thanks for a reply as this refurbished appliance store is trying to offer me your washer tgat you reviewed 7 yrs ago in exchange for the one they delivered to me (end of March) that's a GE 4.2 deep fill that has all your features but doesn't have the agitator in the middle and mine is larger capacity then the one they want to exchange mine for. Curious as to your results. Thanks.~Beth in FL 🌴

      My life has been a mess so I've had to move a lot. I had to sell the particular one in this video. Eventually I rebought the washer several times (long story... I've moved a lot) But, I've never had a single issue with this model of washer as of today, even though I've owned it 3 times due to having to move and sell at various times since making this video.

  • @psdaengr911

    Didn't RTFM. You load a washer by clothes mass, not volume. That one is overloaded if everything is cotton. The manual has a guide for what constitutes a load. The difference between this and proper loading effects the longevity of both the clothing and the machine . Better to have a few more sets of clothes and have them last 2x as many washes. Cloths can cost much more than the machine, power and supplies over time or much less depending on how you wash them. TLCCOO includes clothing plus washing.

    one thing I like about this model is the floating drum corrects itself if there is an uneven load. it prevents the washer from jumping up n down when there is an uneven load...something my,old skool washer did not do.

      Not true, I bough this in late April 2018, have had problems with it dancing and jumping all around during spin cycles, since under warantee, had tech come out, he tried to replicate but couldn't!! He verified it was level and nothing was bound up or broken. Wouldn't ya know. He said getting a rubber mat or these little pucks might be the only answer (he is a contractor not an actual GE tech). Bought the little pucks and installed then loaded up a queen comforter. Figured if anything was going to make it unbalanced this would, nope not even a hint of movement. Today did a small load of whites, t-shirts, socks and damn thing jumped all over, even with the pucks. Wish I could just have them take it back but not much else to choose from in this price range. Will know better next time!

    I bought this washer for a rental house. It has a 1 year warranty and I bought the extended 3 years on it. 4 years and one month later my renter moved out and my washer shakes so bad I’m going to have to call a repairman. I’m sure it was overloaded but I think my husband and I can repair it. My advice is don’t own rental property. People tear up everything and don’t bother to tell you.

    Do you have any idea why the water starts to fill up but then stops? This is the 3rd time this has happened to me. I press the start button and hear the water filling, so I assumed it's started. When I return to my basement 30+minutes later, I see the drum has only a tiny bit of water. It's clear the clothes were never wet. I press the start button and it starts up again just fine. I never see a light flashing saying it's paused or anything like that. It's brand new.

    Just purchased this set. I get the same noise as you do in the wash cycle, but mine is quite a bit louder? Should I be worried or is it because it has only ran a few times and the sound will decrease over time? I see on GE website they mention something about break pads grinding down and the noise easing up.

    • @DarkStoneCastle

    • @psdaengr911

      It automatically senses if the clothes have had enough water extracted. Ie The spin cycle for women's polyester delicates that don't retain water is shorter than with cotton jeans of the same dry weight with all the machine settings the same.

    I just got this as a replacement washer at my apartment & the only thing I don’t like is that when it’s in the rinse cycle, the lid is locked and I can’t add any softener to the washer! I tried to intercept it just now to add softener and the thing didn’t go back and it just reset the whole wash cycle again!! Ugh!!! I miss my old washer where I could be able to set my washer at the rinse cycle and with this NEW. washer I can’t do that anymore!

    • @davidallen8960

      Liquid softener goes in the cup on the agitator at the start and it dispenses automatically. However, stopping or raising the lid during the first spin cycle will cause the dispenser to empty too soon.

    I just ordered one last night.. Not alot of choices for washers with agitators anymore.. From my research I find the washers without agitators don't clean as well. Friends with front loaders and low water washers say some of the clothes don't even get wet. So (from what I've read), machines without agitators can fit more clothes and are more gentle on the clothes (but isn't that what agitators on gentle cycle is for), but the machines with agitators clean much better.. Machine is coming on Sat.. Guess I'll find out soon enough!!

      Don't know about that. The spin cycle on this washer gets the clothes about the same dryness as every other washer I've used or owned in the last 25 years. Don't remember reading too many bad reviews on this washer other than some people complaining that the spin cycle was too loud. I wouldn't have gotten it if the reviews weren't pretty good. Can the dryer be connected to a regular outlet

  • @St4rsNLovenotes
    @St4rsNLovenotes 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Worst washer-dryer combo especially if you have a big family who wants to wash their clothes separately. Washer makes loud noises during wash (and especially spin cycle (sounded like someone banging the wall). The washer is not even full and heavy load is not an option for us. We had to wash our robe with just 1-2 towels as it couldn’t handle it. Broke down after a year and a half. As for the dryer, its dial is quite fragile. Been replaced twice in 2 years.

    I was hoping for a GE video. This guy doesn't follow the printed instructions; adds the detergent on top, instead of on the bottom, like the instructions say to do. I wanted to make sure all the sounds that I am hearing are normal. He doesn't take us to the end, which is where I am concerned. Also, you are advised not to open the lid while in the fill stage.

      If you are killing 2 machines each in 2 years, the common denominator is you.
      The only washers sold in the US that aren't made on the American continent have obvious foreign names.
      Ge Appliance Co was bought by Haier, after Ge had been losing its shirt making machines of declining quality under Jack Welsh's successors..
      The Ge brand major appliances are still built by US workers in the same US plants that Ge operated for decades. Haier has gutted those plants, modernized the production and has the workers actively engaged in the same continuous improvement process that Elon Musk uses at Tesla.
      Haier is a major success story in Asia having created a company based on high quality for affordable priced while competitors produced low quality junk.

      Yo no llevo ni 1 semana y estoy frustrada, no llena completo d agua la tanda peq y la ropa se hace nudos, da muchos golpes luego, obvio no se lava bien y no sè q hacer...quiero devolverla y no perder el dinero.
