Never thought about adding a bit of foil! i have been waiting for the pva to "cure" a bit before i manhandle the flags, they do look good. But foil makes it look way easier =) thank you for this video!
Very nice - if thats making a pigs ear of things - then I'm a unicorn - they look great! The small scales, especially from the old 3-foot rule, when en masse really are quite striking, they look more impressive than my 28mm Hanoverians
I do mine slightly different, i fold my flags to make sure i have a central fold line before adding PVA, and once i put the flags on i add a drop of superglue to the top of the flag pole to fix the flag in place while the PVA dries, :)
That’s a good idea to fold the flag first. I’ll start doing that. If only you’d told me before. I could of stolen that idea and claimed it as my own. Hahaha
Hi Leon Great show when painting do you use the stonrg tone for inking models after that do paint the same colour again trying to paint your way can you me show how to some paint sum models for if you have the time
A tried and trusted method. Works a treat mate. By the way, presumably using half-sized units means you’ve found yourself short of command stands. Have you come up with a solution for that yet?
@@leont66wargaming31 I know what you mean. I'm still tackling the highlanders. Hard work but cathartic lol. It's become a challenge to improve on each one.
@@leont66wargaming31 I look forward to seeing those. My dog for some reason has a real pension for the piper figures. I thought it was just the Airfix ones, but she isn't choosy at all. I find them chewed up under the wargames table. Bloody annoying lol.
I don’t tend to do that. I just fold them any direction. I guess you could take the extra time to follow the shading if you wanted but I’ve never done it that way
Lovely straightforward guide. Painting looks perfect btw
Thanks buddy
Thanks for the video mate. My Confederate and Union units look class now, the flags really complete them when done this way.
Thanks buddy. Glad it was helpful
Great video, would never have thought to use tin foil.
Thanks John. The tin foil helps the flag to keep the shape

Thanks buddy. Yep the tin foil helps it to keep the shape you want.

They do look really nice en masse. I will get back to these hopefully later this year
Well thanks in part to you and Stu from miniature realms I have just ordered Push of Pike so feel free to do more of that! 😂
@seorwulf1049 😆😆
I’ll try 😂
Love the use of the foil, never thought to try that, fantastic.
Yep it helps when you shape it. Holds its shape better
I watched this the other day but forgot to comment, really good to see how you did it and the foil in the flag works really well
Thanks Nik. Hope you’re well mate
Outstanding Sir. 👍
Thanks mate
Nice technique on these splendid flags!
Thanks Phil
Great tip, thanks!
Thanks buddy
Excellent tutorial!
Thanks buddy
Nice guide Leon. Good to say same as 28mm as I think some people panic with scale change.
Thanks buddy.
Thanks. Think I'll follow this method. Especially like the addition of foil to hold a wave appearance
Thanks buddy
Just seen you have a TH-cam channel. I’ll head over and give you a sub
@@leont66wargaming31 thanks. Appreciate any support and help with this game. Lol
I use tin foil on my 28mm flags and they look great.
Thanks mate. Yes it definitely helps with the 28mm flags
Nice guide mate
Thanks Aaron
Nicely done Leon, in ve never used tin foil
Thanks mate. The tin foil helps hold the shape you want while it’s drying
About to do this on some epic ACW, the 7th Michigan infantry. My great great something uncle's regiment
Ah very nice buddy
hello buddy thank you so much cousin.
Thanks John. Hope you’re well

Nice idea Leon, beautifully done as well.

Great tutorial mate
Cheers mate
Nice
Thanks buddy
Awesome!
Thanks buddy
I'm deffo going 6 stands and not 4. Really dont know why warlord went for 4 stands. Very nice mate
Cheers mate. Yep I don’t get it either.
Hi Leon Great show when painting do you use the stonrg tone for inking models after that do paint the same colour again trying to paint your way can you me show how to some paint sum models for if you have the time
Hi mate. Yes. The strong tone darkens the original colour so I apply it back over as a first highlight
A tried and trusted method. Works a treat mate. By the way, presumably using half-sized units means you’ve found yourself short of command stands. Have you come up with a solution for that yet?
Yes I’m going to get some blue stuff and make some press moulds.
I still use your tin foil tip for flags. Looking good Leon. This scale is growing on me.
Thanks mate. The more I paint these little dudes the more I like them
@@leont66wargaming31 I know what you mean. I'm still tackling the highlanders. Hard work but cathartic lol. It's become a challenge to improve on each one.
Lol. I’ve got some highlanders for these turning up soon.

Top draw m8 .
Cheers mate
They are great Leon but they are way too wavy. ;)
Lol. Thanks mate hahaha
Is there any technique to folding the flags along the shadow lines?
I don’t tend to do that. I just fold them any direction. I guess you could take the extra time to follow the shading if you wanted but I’ve never done it that way
How do you even do those tiny straps?
Lol. Very carefully. I have a painting guide for these minis.

Are these the warlord flags?
Yes they’re the ones that come in the box
