    This system certainly makes things easier when it comes to glue and add sand/ gravel. Much more Space. I use the " original" non doubled stands and it is such a pain to do !!!

      Thanks buddy. Yes I started just using the single bases but I wasn’t getting the look I wanted.

    Can you do a vid' on "that warping problem" to explain better please.

    • @leont66wargaming31
      @leont66wargaming31  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The warping happens because the edges of the plastic warlord bases are bevelled. So as long as you scrape the edge and use poly cement to melt the plastic, then put something on top of the base while it’s drying, then the base will stay flat. The warping only happens because the edges being glued together are not fully flat. So the will tend to bend up in the middle.

    How do remove casualties? With my 15mm figures 20 to 30 figures is a battalion. But you have a 60 figure battalion.

    • @leont66wargaming31
      @leont66wargaming31  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you’re playing black powder there’s no need to worry about casualty removal as the whole unit is removed.
      For other games it depends on the rules. I use a dice to count casualties and when the base loses all the wounds assigned to it, I then remove a base at a time. For example: if the base has 5 wounds then once it’s lost all wounds I’d remove the base. Leaving the other 2 bases with 10 wounds between them.
      Bases are just representative for gaming purposes. Regardless of how many miniatures are on each base.
      Hope that makes sense and is helpful

    Superb, looks very good, one thing I am wondering though is whether napoleonics in column formation would lose that sense of depth that they get from the original close ranking?

    • @leont66wargaming31
      @leont66wargaming31  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks buddy. I get what your saying. In reality they would of had gaps between the files. I keep meaning to do a video of what an actual French column would have looked like. I was waiting till I had them all painted but that could be years lol.

    Great idea with the double base. I tried myself painting some Epic Napoleonic stuff and you cant really do anything when it comes to basing on the small base. Since I do my regiments with 3 troops instead of 5 I have spare bases anyway.

    • @leont66wargaming31
      @leont66wargaming31  ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi, these warlord miniatures are getting me back into the hobby. I’m looking at a project to take command and colours to a miniatures game.
    I was going to split my strips into 2x 5 figures to a 30mm x25 mm base or 55mmx25mm (get that few mm back) now seeing these I’m not sure.
    Why change the basing from the smaller strips? I was convinced to break the strips in half now I’m not sure lol

    • @leont66wargaming31
      @leont66wargaming31  ปีที่แล้ว

      For my Napoleonic Epic minis I split the strips in two. 5 men strips. Basing on 40x30.
      For ACW and ECW I keep them at 10 men but on double warlord bases to make the base a bit more scenic. If I was doing the TYW I’d split the musket armed troops in to 5’s as they need to be more versatile with the formations.
      If you’re undecided, why not cut out a few squares of card in different sizes and try out the minis on them and see what you think looks best? (Not trying to teach you to suck eggs lol. Just in case you hadn’t thought of it)

    I found that if you take the strip of figures,mark the strip length and width onto a coffee stirrer,them use double sided sticky tape to attach the stirrer to the green bases,you can prep the bases,then all you have to do is pop the stirrer of the green made up base,and then attach the figure strips,rather than work around the figures
