    Hey what you need to remember is in 1975 there was a lot of road similar to those dirt trails. So trail bikes was a bit of a necessity for some people and 70s trail bikes do everything really well. Fantastic.

    I have the same model made in 76. Great bike. Wouldn't sell it for the world.

    That Elsinore sounds lovely. Clean and crisp. It looks quite fast. And the way it breaks loose and kicks out fighting for grip. You’ve done a great job on the engine. Well done and it’s nice to see the MT in its natural environment. I’m hoping to take one of mine up a local national park mountain ( well it’s not quite but near enough) this weekend.

    Thanks for this. I’m old but I bought one and got it running but haven’t taken it Off road yet. This is inspiring. Mine is the ‘74 same MT250. This looks too fun. I’ll be 62 in two months so I’d better get on it!! Thanks man. Great job

    Glad to see that the front forks were serviceable. I knew it would really make a difference in ride handling and comfort. Can't wait to see your next project!

    If I still lived in PA, I would definitely buy that beauty! Unfortunately, I'm 1200 miles away now. Can't wait for the next restoration!

    70's off road Honda gas caps leak. Mine always did. Not anything you did wrong. Great job on the bike.

    I promise you the CR topend will go right on that bike. Run the bigger carb. That thing would lift up easy. Easy conversion because they had the same bottom end.

      Yes !!!!! I did that to my MT125 and could keep up with RM 125's in the dirt. That bike deserves the horses that Honda forgot to put in it.

    some people dont know what the mt stands for it stands for multi track. in the 70s there
    was alot of rerence to the word track on the yamaha side dt stands for dual track
    if you change to a copper head gasket it will increase the compression pluse drill a hole with a long drill bit through the spark arestor it relly lets that bike breath

    How’s about doing a chopper next, it doesn’t have to be a Harley, a rice burner would be perfect 😍
    Sweet video, the wee bike runs great .

    I'm sorry but I had to snort a bit when you tried to get a wheelstand out of that bike. You had to stand on the rear footpegs, bounce the front wheel over a bump and pull like hell on full gas to be able to do it. In first gear. However, if you decided, finally, to put a CR250 Barrel and carbie on it, you'd have a REAL go getter on your hands. Please do it. PLEEEEEASE !!!!

    Alright. You've re-invigorated me to go and get my 1974 MT250 back on track. Last I left it I was having carb issues and I swapped out a SmartCarb 28 on it but I just could not get the bike to run without it revving out. I think I'll swap out the carbs again back to the original and try to get it back on track. Thanks for the video! And if you want to see my build go over to my channel. 🙂

    • @GoldGuyRides
      @GoldGuyRides  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome!! I've already seen your build! I was watching it to get inspiration for mine. You're doing a really good job with it. The best way to sort out carb issues is just to get some seat time in. Best of luck to you!

    • @CurtisTarwater
      @CurtisTarwater ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GoldGuyRides Thanks for watching! I think I have a left crankcase oil seal that is the culprit as I did not replace it (under the stator plate). First thing is for me to inspect it and probably replace it then try again with the SmartCarb. If it still revs out I'll swap the old carb back in. Kudos for the support!😀😀

    Your tail light is likely AC. The brake light will be DC however. I've a TS185ER and have always had a thought about converting the brake light to AC but never bothered to implement it.
