    Great job my friend. You have a very calm demeanor. I'm kind of a hyper guy so I should calm down a bit when I'm working on my vehicles. Thanks for the great tutorial.

    Good tip on using a razor to remove the flashing. Makes perfect sense. Thanks for the video.

    Appreciate the video and supporting diy mechanics out there. About the factory hose clamps, please replace them. The integrity of it's strength and support were diminished as soon as it was taken off. High pressure will blow the hose off one of these days.

    Thanks, congrats on being able to reuse the clamps. I'm going to get some worm screw clamps for backup. Anyone know the OD of the hoses? Roughly 1/2 or 5/8 inch? Not a big deal, but for a couple extra bucks one could use synthetic ATF.

    If the steering wheel reservoir ATF fluid leaks on the alternator - will it cause burning smell?

    Nice work! At some point you should change the lower hose that connects to the power steering pump, and change the plastic power steering pulley to an aluminium one.

      All hoses have been replaced at this point. Thanks for the suggestion.

      Agreed. I just finished doing a full replacement (pump, hoses, reservoir). Especially happy about not having to jack up the car to work underneath.

    Great video! one question how did you clean the alternator? what cleaning product did you use?

    • @robdude1969
      @robdude1969  ปีที่แล้ว

      Start with a degreaser like simple green and a stiff plastic brush. If that’s not effective go stronger like a foaming engine cleaner.

    Don't reuse One Time factory clamps. A catastrophic failure won't be fun. S. Steel worm gear clamps work great.

    14:03 so that hose is okay to be loose ? Or did you have to push it more in to click in

    • @robdude1969
      @robdude1969  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It has a one way compression type fitting that secures as you push it in. To release it it has to be opened by pressing the end of the fitting inward. If yours slides in and out easily, check the end to be sure it is complete. Good luck. Hope that makes sense.

    Consider aluminum foil over the Alternator to keep ATF out!

    Is it hard to change the DISA valve? I need to check mine or to see if I need to change it cause I hear something strange on it, but I don’t want to pay for mechanic I wanna do it myself

    • @robdude1969
      @robdude1969  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven’t had to do one yet. Keep watching videos, read the service manual, and be realistic on what you have the patience to do on your own. I bet you can do it.
