I just hope that this rework doesn't makes every other melee weapon obsolete, but wow i think I'll enjoy spending time with the weapon utilising all it's tomfoolery and making it the way i want to be rn.
I think this version is meant to be treated as an entire alternate playstyle. It looks like it's an extremely complex and demanding weapon that's there for people who want to mix up the (normally pretty boring) melee gameplay.
to fully have the murasama experience you would have to limit yourself to only using it and MAYBE one with more range anyway, so u could make a ''no Murasama'' run to enjoy the other ones
I really like the idea of a single weapon that scales in power as you progress the game. Like, it might be outclassed at certain stages, but you'll always come back to it again.
I LOVE that Calamity is playing around with augments and sub-builds; It reminds me of Stars Above. I'm so excited to eventually be able to play around with it and try different things.
I just hope that other melee weapons won't be left in the dusk, because so far this rework looks so good it might even surpass the... Cosmic scissors? (scratch that it sure as hell would surpass it)
@@NoTimef_r It all depends on the DPS potential and how you use it. The Ark is pretty well-rounded with good damage and range and is fairly simple to use. Murasama has a generally smaller range and seemingly might have higher DPS potential but needs more skill and build thought to use.
@@VBandit47 this new muramusa seems to have many avenues, tbh i feel like balancing this weapon might be hard with all the different ways of using it, i wonder if it's damage will be reduced since this weapon sounds broken as hell

Kinda makes me ask why these augments aren’t used for the draedon weapons. It would be pretty fitting ngl. Maybe make the augments have tradeoffs for balancing, would be cool
Something that I thought would be cool for a rework in the past would be that it unlocks at dog at its current in game state then gets upgraded to its older version with the larger range and damage after you beat yharon, and maybe a further upgrade to range and damage or special ability that makes exo mechs more rewarding Edit: this definitely seems super cool tho and as a fellow jetstream Sam fan I’m happy about the change (I bout the irl replica of the sword)
The inspiration from Hollow Knight is insane, the charged attacks (nail arts) are large slash (great slash), rapid slashes (dash slash), and saw spin (cyclone slash)
I think double-stack should have special effects because you're using both slots to augment. I also thoroughly believe we should get a "rules of nature" interaction between the Murasama's normal and some boss attack

Do you know if the regular or quick attack will scale after beating certain bosses? idk how the saw one would do on the brimstone hearts and that's all I use murasama for regularly. (Aside from that this rework looks really cool)
this'll probably come with some nerfs and stuff since it's gonna be moved to post moonlord, but who knows? maybe this'll be a precedent for weapons to have a similar system
How do you get these specifications? You have killed the wanted bosses, but you do not customize the use of features. Is there a specific button to activate?.
I understand there are godlike players out there who like complex weapons, but I always prefer weapons I can just pick up and swing at a boss's general direction. To each their own.

armor cleave with other armor penetration abilities will be very powerful.
