I love that in calamity all of the melee weapons are a lot bigger so that true melee is actually a valid option
If you think that's big, just look at tungsten enchantment in Fargo's Souls.
150% size, *300%* with wizard enchant/in the Force of Earth
i mean, with 1.4.4 in vanilla, true melee is more viable than ever
I can't figure out why, but my true melee weapons are the normal size and not bigger like Calamity should make them. I can't find any information about why this is happening. Can anyone help me?

@@LoraLoibu Currently I also have all the weapons are not as big as in the video , it is a very big difference because you have to approach at point-blank range to the boss . The man in the video thanks to the huge size of weapons easily kills bosses.

@@Skellytronnmage progression in calamity is so good, and there's a lot of weapon variety. my fav calamity classes are melee and mage. fuck rogue, most stealth strikes arent even worth going for
@@CockRidestealth strikes double (or even more) the damage for most rogue weapons
@@eronic_ or i just use the weapon 17 times in the time it takes for a stealth strike. Stealth builds are cool but too weak for higher difficulties and without stealth strikes you can also use warding and menacing instead of silent. They're just not worth going for and playing a class when you shouldn't use the main thing that makes it unique sucks

Some attacks are true melee but for some reason it doesn't do true melee damage, so I didn't count it.

i always love hearing ultrakill music in non ultrakill videos, im so glad it gets the appreciation it deserves
the weirdest "True Melee" weapon is the Ultimus Cleaver, which is said on the item card that it's a true melee weapon, but it shoot's a lot of homing projectiles without hiting an enemy first.
what's stranger is that the night's edge, light's bane, normal and true excaliburs, and the horseman's blade aren't true melee
@@blazingtrs6348 night's edge doesn't look like true melee, but would be considered true melee because it's extra swing can't deal extra damage, so the 2 swings act as the true melee hits, but if calamiy devs don't consider it true melee than it's up to them.
Light's bane just has a close range projectile so it's not even worth considering if it's a true melee weapon, since it's not.
The rest shou6be true melee weapons but just ethereal haven't been changed or just won't be changed.
I haven’t been watching terraria for a while and I’m happy to see skeletron is getting pretty close to a 100k because when I used to watch his great content he only had like 20k and was very skilled but now he almost has 60k
I'll be honest I can really dig true melee here. I thought it would be irritating but it actually seems to put you into some kind of zen state because there aren't projectiles flying all over the place. It's just you, hitting the enemy with plenty of time to dodge and focus. I should try it out sometime looks like a lot of fun.
Might also use the Melee + mod for that extra kick too allowing charge attacks.

one of my favourite "true" melee weapons (atleast its listed as such) is the earth. it makes you pretty much immortal with the healing it gives and insane dps.

Ps i made the mistake of doing the same run on mastermode infernum and actually completing it last month. The fungal symbiote change made it absolutely useless in combat and made early hardmode very grueling

25:52 I love how he says its a very long fight but I watched a guy (cant remember the name) beat the whole base game with a lawnmower. Moon lord ALONE took 90h in that run. If u wanna watch it it's called beating terraria with the worst weapon or something. Love the vid tho, just made me giggle coz I watched the lawnmower vid yesterday and so time perception for boss fights is thrown off for me now😂😂. This is officially the video that made me play terraria again. Since I’ve been playing Tmod loader, I haven’t found it very interesting because of it not being to the newest update, but I just went back and found out. They actually did it! The updated Tmod loader to 1.4.4!!!

Yo! I just beat my first playthrough of calamity on revengeance as the summoner class. I am so excited but at the same time idk what to do anymore. Infernum doesn't work on my PC fsr and now I'm just lost. Still happy though!

Wholeheartedly agree. Aureus was one of the few bosses I struggled with during my summoner run, and also THE ONLY BOSS with I felt not joy, but relief after defeating.
