Deejay is awesome, he was in Hamilton before the pandemic and now he's going back when theatres reopen. He's been featured in a few of their videos like "Bang!", "Man in the Mirror" and "You're my best friend". Cesar is an official member now, after J.None went to the Navy. But, before it was announced, he collaborated with VoicePlay in this cover and "We're Good". "If I were a rich man/girl" is VoicePlay latest cover and Cesar's first as an official member.
This is such a fun video with everything going on in the back. This was the second time Cesar collaborated with VP; the first was in "We're Good". After this one, he became a permanent member of VoicePlay so his first video as a member is "If I Were A Rich Man/Girl". Deejay has his own channel with a lot of his own music. I believe he is currently touring with Hamilton. VoicePlay did ask him to join the group as high tenor (Cesar is baritone) but Deejay was under contract to Hamilton from before the pandemic hit.
Caesar is the latest permanent member of VP..Deejay is a force! He’s played several roles in Hamilton as well as having a solo career. There are a few VP covers wit him..my fav is Bang! And I would recommend their latest If I Were a Rich Man..Geoff gets to show off his range..
You still need to check out Sing by Voice Play and friends. There are a lot of people you will recognize. When you check it out make sure you put the Closed Caption on so you get all the comments about who is singing on screen. Please do this one. I think you will enjoy it. Hugs bud
Voice play is so good. Love the addition of Cesar. His voice is amazing and he adds some flair to this group. Of course Geoff Laine and Eli are fantastic. DJ Young is an alien and I would have loved to see him as a permanent member too. All their performances are so fun.
You're going to have to use your eyes and ears. So much going on in the background. Cesar is new to the group a couple of years back (I'm in 2024 now), DJ is guest artist, does some Broadway (Hamilton springs to mind), been in VP's In My Room (Beach Boys), The Chipmunk Song, Bang, Man in the Mirror (Michael Jackson, which was J None's last video before going into the US Navy, although he comes and joins them when he has leave from the premier US Navy chorus in Washington DC).
I'm not as up to date with Voice Play as I am Home Free and Pentatonix. Didn't one of the gentlemen featured in this video join the group? Also, I think they are both a great fit.

Second, as good as Pentatonix is, they are not the be all and end all of a cappella. They are their own style. As is VoicePlay, and home free and any other a cappella group. If you stop judging other groups by the "Pentatinix standard", you might be surprised to find how creative and amazing the other groups are in their own niche of the a cappella world.
