- We're Zhen and Carrie... #Zherrie! VoicePlay just did an a cappella cover of BTS's Butter, and we immediately knew what we were going to react to that weekend! The last time (that we know of) they covered a BTS song was "Fake Love" in their Boy Bands medley video (which we have also reacted to; link below!). Layne's carrot is Voiceplay's BEST running gag. I'm pretty sure it started with their ACA Top 10 Disney Sidekicks, and then reappeared in the Frozen 2 Medley and the ACA Top 10 Movie Themes (all of the above worth checking out!). It's made very brief cameos in a handful of other songs too. Voiceplay's love of Twinkies is another running gag that's been going since the beginning. VP fans love playing spot the carrot/Twinkie every time a new video comes out!
Our next reaction is indeed Disney Sidekicks, so keep an eye out for it this weekend! Now Carrie and I will have to start playing spot the Twinkie as well 😆
Ya know.... any outside hearing you say "Spot the Carrot (or Twinkie)" would probably raise their eyebrows and go, "Say what?!" 😅😅😅
I just realized that they're trying to replicate the "butter hotter remix mv" with their set and the background, like one member singing and the others just goofing around at the back💀
You should react to Bang if you haven't already! It's another one of their covers with Deejay Young and it showcases a lot of their top harmonies.
Yes, the carrots are a running gag. I’m not positive on the origin, but I THINK it’s from a video where Layne was holding a carrot to his nose, and Geoff came up and bit the nose off, and startled Layne who said he’d never seen Geoff that up close to him before. But I may be wrong. It could also go back to their ACA Top Ten Sitcom themes, maybe.
You're right about the scenario, but I believe it started with ACA Top Ten Disney Sidekicks! There are a few other running gags that are kind of inside jokes to their patrons, including Eli's popcorn and the twinkies. Love that they tossed that stuff in there :D
The popcorn and Twinkie are running gags too? Now I need to keep an eye out for them! BTW our next reaction (out this weekend!) is indeed Disney Sidekicks, so you’ll see more reference to the carrot then 😂
