- This cover managed to completely slip under my radar until now, but I'm so glad I found it! It was a beautifully complex cover that I could barely even process, but it was so much fun, especially seeing how much fun they all clearly had making it.
Let's go for a topical "did you read my description" question this week: what food do you think is most improved with the addition of butter? I think my answer has to be a simple fried egg, frying it in butter instead of oil just really elevates it to a new level.

This was like a foot race and since I'm height challenged, by the time I heard one nugget, they were halfway through the next one. Idk if anyone mentioned it already, but all of the chaos happening in the background is a nod to the music video of the Hotter Remix of Butter. It’s very much a BTS thing, but I love how they made it their own and had so much fun with it. 😆

You are not alone by getting distracted by the background stuff. There is so much going on both musically and just in the video that I feel like I see/hear something new every time I listen/watch it. Geoff's arrangement here was just killer....so awesome. Deejay is also just so good, I'm going to miss him when he goes back to doing Hamilton again, but at least they get to keep Cesar!
Mushrooms sautéed in butter are everything. I think VoicePlay videos are fun because you can keep finding new things even if you have seen the video a hundred times.

Just a suggestion that I think you would really like: have you ever listened to "wake me up" by homefree (cover of the avicii song)? It uses a lot of the words in the background vocals, which is why I think you'd really like it and I think it is one of the first, if not THE first music video they ever uploaded which means you get to appreciate baby Austin.
I really love how enthusiastically, but also informative you react to the videos and your enthusiasm and joy is really contagious.
It's one of my favorites! And "baby Austin" is so true! I love when Austin starts "scatting" it's a specific skill as is yodeling.

Hey Mortius, love your acapella reactions. Food most improved with the addition of butter? I'd say spaghetti sauce. A big bite of butter-slathered bread always improves a bite of spaghetti, so I started skipping that extra carb load and just added butter to my homemade sauce recipe. Everyone asks me what the secret ingredient is. xD I'll write it out if you want.

I actually missed this one too, sort of. I remember seeing it when it came out, but I must’ve gotten sidetracked onto something else and didn’t let it percolate as much as I should have. I’m going to have to go back to the original and do that now.
Would love to see you do the Pentatonix cover of Butter as well? This is absolutely amazing and I love it, but I like the Pentatonix one just a little better.

Oh you totally should watch the original and come back here. They are totally contrasting their silliness with the BTS formal choreography and even have DJ sing the line the BTS bass sings. It is so brilliant.
