    Finding those quality parts makes all the difference on the repair. Looks like you have the mount figured out. Nice work Buddy. Cheers

      Thanks Lloyd!! Yeah those brackets were a godsend, I was gonna start fabricating new ones the same day I found them!! That saved me a few days of work!!☺

    Looks to me like you’ve got the mount, stacked correctly. Those new cab supports look sweet, and made in the USA, too! 👍

    I noticed that the welds on those cab supports you bought look different than the ones on the brackets that you fabricated! LOL! Those pieces sure look nice! Glad to see some people still take pride in their work.
    Those folks who live in the southwest and western states have no idea what high humidity and road salt does to vehicles! You see a little rust spot, cut it out and it’s three times worse behind it!
    I imagine how frustrating it must be to have to keep cutting out more and more and patching all of back. Keep plugging away buddy! You’ll get it eventually.

    • @805ROADKING

      Thanks Scott!! I like to think my welds have a little more character!!☺

    Thank God for reproduction panels. But you still have to have a certain amount of talent to fit them in place. Nice work so far. I always enjoy the Ford series.

    • @805ROADKING
      @805ROADKING  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Wyatt!! Yeah even a bad reproduction panel will at least give you something to start with!! These panels are pretty decent compared to some of the stuff I've had to deal with over the years!!☺

    I’m more of a chevy guy, but I’ve done two cab bushing replacements, and your stackup looks correct to me. Just from process of elimination, there must be a washer at the very bottom, next to the nut, and a washer at the top (cab floor) under the bolt head. And no washers between the two rubbers. Keep the truck videos coming, Road King. 👍

    RK,
    Check the cab mount on the passenger side and use it as a model for replacing the driver side. Same concept as changing brakes, use one side as a template or "mirror" for the other.

    • @805ROADKING
      @805ROADKING  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The aftermarket cab mounts are different than the original!!☺

  • @MartsGarage
    @MartsGarage 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Lookin good Roady. The stack up of the mount looks correct, but from this side of my monitor the bolt looks too long?? Might not be, not sure. You might need to die the threads down a bit more. The whole cab will be a helluva lot stronger once you've got done with it.

    • @805ROADKING
      @805ROADKING  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Mart!! That bolt also has to go through a 2¼" Cab mount bracket that is attached to the floor pan!!☺

    The bushing sequence looks good, but the cab needs to be lifted to accommodate the deformed old hangers and compressed old mount rubbers. Looking good there, RK - gonna be like a new truck (but with better wheels, I'm guessing?)!

    • @805ROADKING
      @805ROADKING  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    You could probably make a silicone mold of the old rubber piece right of a lighter silicone and then look for a heavier silicone rubber mix and pour it in there and get the exact shape that you need because it's not going to ride right unless it's the exact shape or you can shave down the new piece to fit
