    Andy, the more you weld the better you'll get! There's something to say when you can actually do the work. Feels good to accomplish it yourself!

      I agree that we get better with more practice, but I still suck at welding. :)

      If time permits, it's always fun to do the work ourselves. I'm out here in Southern California and the shop labor costs are crazy high.

    I really dig this old truck. The manual and FE makes it really cool and unique. Just an honest work truck, unlike these luxobarges and brodozers now a days. Your welding seems to be getting better too. Can’t wait to see more!

      Thanks! The farther I place the camera from my work the better it looks! :)

    Came here about a year ago and your videos helped me get my 67 mustang running as well as motivated me to make my own channel. Looks like I need to get an F100 to follow along with you now! Cant wait to see all the progress coming on this and your mustang when you get it back!

    Good work! Your technique of cutting the strip and welding in short sections is called ‘cut and butt’. A gent has a channel on TH-cam titled ‘Fitzee’s Fabricications’ where I learned of this technique.
    Your video will help me replace the floor pans (interior and trunk) on our 68 Plymouth Fury II sedan.

      Yeah, I figured someone out there knows the technical terms and whatnot, now I can add that to my list. :)

    Looks like you did a decent job. I am doing my 2 rear pans and driver pan on my 68 mustang. Getting ready to start. I am in the over thinking it stage right now. Your video and effort helps my motivation.

    I'm just starting to do the same, I am very slow lol also still working on making straight lines with cutting wheel but getting better, you made it look easy

    • @AndyKruseChannel
      @AndyKruseChannel  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's crazy how much time something like this can take. But part of that is me over thinking it. The other floor pan was done in almost half the time, so it does get a little easier. :)

    Depending on how far you want to go with the project I'd recommend taking EVERYTHING out. Chances are you also have some rust around the windshield, cab corners, etc. & having the interior empty helps when messing around with this stuff. Looking good! Body work can be a nightmare.

    • @AndyKruseChannel
      @AndyKruseChannel  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nightmare status achieved. But it's only money, and you can't take it with you, so spend it all!! :)

    Good stuff as I am getting ready to tackle my 78 F250 floor pans! And I got a 66 Mustang as well but not as nice as yours and have a nasty bit of rust under the vinyl top...ugggg. May have a convertible before its over lol.

    On my 1967 F-100 SWB. The floors weren't in that bad of shape. Now the bed that's another story. The entire piece of the bed from the front edge of the wheel tubs to the front end of the bed was gone. I learned the hard way about "sheet metal " from lmc that way.

    • @AndyKruseChannel

    Dremel with a cutting wheel helps in the tight areas

    I’d recommend adding some seam sealer too but for not being a welder that looks damn good! I am probably getting ahead of you but are you planning to move the gas tank to Uber the bed in the rear frame?

    • @AndyKruseChannel
      @AndyKruseChannel  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Seam sealer wouldn't hurt. No plans at this time, but I have a long way to go. :)

    Hi, Just would like to know where did you get the floor pan from ? I have found a few different suppliers, but some of them are thin gauge. Do you know what gauge the floor panel was ?
    Thanks.

      Summit Racing. Sorry, I don't know the gauge. :)

    Hey Andy... will be cool to follow your new build and glad to see its another Ford. As far as welding, are you self taught? What welding equipment did you purchase or use? Maybe you could show us your welding setup in a video.

    • @AndyKruseChannel
      @AndyKruseChannel  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Took some basic welding stuff back in school (but that was ages ago). Cheap welding equipment, nothing exciting. I'm not good enough to be passing on welding advice, that's why I gloss over that part in my videos. :)
