Billy Crystal always strikes me as a true gentleman. Heartwarming!
He is. He sat down at the lunch table I was at during a day of filming "Running Scared." Mr. Crystal did not engage with me personally (as an extra I probably would have been fired if the background casting people saw me talking to him not knowing I was there first!), But I could tell by his demeanor with others how genuine and just plain NICE he was (as I hastily wolfed down my lunch and skeedattled out of there). A gentleman indeed.

Watching Billy Crystal host the Oscars every year are some of the happiest memories of my childhood and teenage years. I'd always watch them and his movies with my mother and it was something positive we shared together. I had the pleasure of seeing 700 Sundays in Sydney about 15 years ago and got to meet Billy after the show. As soon as he started to speak to me, I just burst into tears. Thanks for all the great memories Mr Crystal.

My Mom also met Shirley Temple Black while working in a Hospital in LA. She met her in the pediatric section. Shirley was visiting the kids there. My Mom was a Head Nurse (and or just a Nurse) for 43 years.

Billy Crystal has done many great things but I can't see him without having (warm) thoughts about Miracle Max in The Princess Bride.

Jimmy Kimmel is so gifted comedically with his instantaneous wit I think it becomes expected by the audience and fans and I for one recognize it and appreciate his genius.
I agree on Jimmy's talent. But I think in this case he interrupted Billy sharing an emotional story about the Carson call. Jimmy jumps in for the joke, kills the moment and they move on. I woulda liked Billy to finish that thought.
@@anthonyfrombelow I got to tell you you're probably right but that's rare for jk. Normally people interrupt him I mean at an alarming rate and he is right in the middle of coming back with one of his witty statements and it never seems to bother him he just lets them interrupt him and moves on to the next comment. I think he has tons of comebacks
