      They don't come across too often, that was a similar issue, not sure quite what it was but rough microfiber swipes leave a similar look with rainbow colors

    I'm always having troubles of getting rid of the haze or clouds as some call it after I have sanded the car. Some cars are soooo trashed that I need to do a 3 step and even then the haze is a pain to get rid of. It takes time but eventually it'll be gone. Saw you have the Menzerna. I use it too, great stuff

    What would you recommend for medium clear coat? I have a black Chevy Silverado. No metallic flake. 6 month old. Dealer buffed it and used filler wax. It looks great from a distance, but is covered in scratches. I’ve been working on it for 3 days in order to ceramic coat. I’ve used TW 1&Done compound with 50/50 bad. Then went over with ccs black pad. Pulled it in the sun and no more swirls but still scratches and now every inch covered in maring. So I tried Optimum White waffle pad the their black waffle pad with their Hyper Polish. It did nothing. Then I used the TW 1&Done, and LC Orange pad. Fallowed by the Black Pad. Definitely helped, but pant still looks like crap under light. I heard Chevys were finicky, but I’m down right depressed this point lol. Been researching and practicing on other cars for this since I got the truck in late October. No other car or truck gave me these problems. I actually thought I was good after all those other cars, smh.
    God Bless!

    Help ! I got blk single stage paint on my 81 z28. I accidently got brake cleaner splatters on it. It left white spots in the paint now. Like it removed the pigment...any ideas what I can do?

    how damp should my pad be when polishing? they say damp but not wet. is there a right and wrong way of cleaning my pads?

    • @streetready
      @streetready  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Totally can it removes most all the polish on it. Shouldn't be damp, use small amounts of polish and work small sections!

    Can you elaborate a little on cleaning the pads between passes? I do about 5 dime sized blobs on a 6" pad and work that into about a 2x2ft section, and if I were to try to 'clean' the pad after each pass, there would be quite literally nothing to clean?

    • @streetready
      @streetready  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I feel that's far too much polish on soft paint in my opinion, I try to reduce the use of polish to avoid running into a damp pad. Once the pad is too damp, it doesn't work as effectively in my experience.
      In that scenario there would be something to clean, and that would be the paint you removed from the vehicle and the polish that's worked on your pad.
      The polish depending if it's diminishing or non diminishing has different characteristics and break down approaches. Always best to start over with clean polish.

      @@streetready So if I am using a 6.5" (Sorry was 6.5 not 6") how much product would you recommend? I am working on an 07 Nissan currently with black paint using CG v36 cutting, V38 finishing with an Orange and White pad respectively.

      @@andy.bernard How's the paint looking after you're done working with them? What issues are you running into?
      For instance, what I do in my situation is two little dots! That's it, no more than that. Spread the product on speed one, work it on speed 2.5-3 in my machine. Clean out the pad from any residue with brush or air, two little dots and go at it again - I work a 3 pad x 3 pad section so dab 3 time horizontal and 3 vert and that's sufficient amount of polish for my job

      @@andy.bernard Think I may have confused you when I said a pass, what I meant is when I'm done working the area! Which is before the panel heats up

      @@streetready Thank you for the help, by the way. The paint I am working with really isn't in that bad of shape to begin with. Maybe my expectations were set too high from the get go, thinking I would get a piano like finish with a couple of compounds and pads with a 7424XP.
      What I am seeing are still micro scratches if I catch the light and paint just right. From 5 feet away it looks great/factory new. I've tried several techniques but they will not leave me with a 'wow, there's literally zero scratches in this paint' when I get close and personal with the paint. Is that normal I guess? If I wanted to get out every single scratch, I am assuming I would need a more aggressive compound, but also risk burning all through the clear down to base coat which I am not sure I want to do. Feel like I'm wasting my time if these are the results. Not so much if that's pretty normal though, with my setup.
