💡 Celsius capitalized on the widespread distrust of traditional banks, presenting itself as an alternative and promising to act in customers’ best interests.
💡 The court-appointed examiner’s report revealed that Celsius set reward rates based on competition rather than actual profits, indicating a lack of transparency and questionable business practices.
💡 Celsius’s assurance of safety through collateralization and immunity to bank runs proved to be false, as the company went bankrupt, leaving customers questioning the platform’s integrity.
💡 The case of Celsius highlights the importance of thorough research and skepticism when investing in crypto platforms, as even well-established companies can deceive customers.

I am so sick of hearing about crypto, every time someone even says the word crypto my eyes glaze over and my brain automatically goes into sleep mode. The entire pitch really is give me your money and watch me run away while I give you the middle finger.

Big difference in getting rich before you get into government office and getting rich WHILE you are holding government office. Huge massive difference, and all the actors you’d expect to have gotten rich during their holding of office, have. Pelosi, Biden, Mitch McConnell, Obama, etc. both sides are corrupt but if the corrupt ones are doing everything in their power to stop a man from getting into office, shouldn’t that tell you something? 8% interest from a "bank" is impossible
Banks usually CHARGE around 8% interest for their loans. That pays for the ~1% or less interest for account holders, costs to run the physical bank itself, and losses from having to default and collect on loans
Mind you, the bank doesn't need to have the physical money for all that. When a bank gives out a loan, they use account holder's money for it, effectively creating money out of thin air, backed by trust and a massive government body that they will pay it back on the agreed terms.
8% interest implies zero losses, zero running costs, zero protection for if theres a run on the cash, and a perfect system where nothing goes wrong. One defaulted loan and your savings disappear.
"Don't trust banks! Don't give banks your money. Give ME your money. There IS such a thing as easy money. This is what I do!"
Said like that, it never makes sense.
Sure - we don't trust banks. Mainly because we don't understand the rules, we don't understand how it works.
But why would you trust someone who says "It's easy - I'll do the understanding for you!"
Why would a millionaire want your money? Because that's how they become a millionaire. Money doesn't just appear; it has to come from someone ... and it won't be from millionaires.
Put into simple terms:
1) Sell a book for $5 to a whole bunch of people called "How to make easy money!"
2) Use some of that money to print the required book. Keep the profits.
3) Inside the book, write "How to make easy money. Just sell a book for $5 to a whole bunch of ..."
it's even simpler than that. The name ogf the game is your money is now mine, and it goes like this. "Dont give the banks your money, give me your money! I know how to make easy money-"
"First, you take other people's money, and then you have money. Yaay!"
Man I remember being in high school when the word "crypto currency" started popping up. Even cursory research on our phones during lunch, everyone around me was like, "yeah that sounds like a scam."
And now? Oh wow, golly gee whizz, whaddya know? The thing that sounded like a scam IS a scam!
I was in high school in 2011-15. And this was just as bitcoin was starting to get rolling for real. At the time I knew this felt too risky. But as I graduated and got older and the price just kept going up, I felt like, yes its a scam but I could have made it rich. Of course, I probably would have lost it all at some point, qnd who knows, maybe investing would have made me a believer. Lotta who knows how it would shake out

“They have so much money, why would they scam me?” Brother how do you think they got rich?
Are we gonna just ignore the fact that the owner basically said that the collateral was reliant on crypto currency, he said his team “ grinds through all the tokens and all the coins”. That right there was a red flag, so my collateral is completely reliant on whether these cryptocurrencies still have value
The part I never understand about this...why do people think you can earn money on something that doesn't earn money? Where would the money come from? The answer is nowhere...
Money earns money. Especially over time. In many cases taking the least risky path is how you’re going to make the most money when it comes to investment and interest. But, high risk investments (while quite lucrative in theory) are the best way to lose your money. Think of every new crypto company or service as a high risk investment. Never invest money you need.
He tried to beat the banks by becoming a worse bank? Lol
This is what happens when when people put their money into Russian rhetoric instead of federally regulated banks.

@20:30 actually CEOs do this, when they actually have received these evaluations they DO mention it anytime they can.
the thing about i dont understand is how so many people said yeah thats great and didnt think of anything about it when he said nobody else can do this because they would run out of money ect he is not the richest person in the world so how tf would he not run out

Is this FDIC insured?
I really hate to say this to the victims, but that's not how modern banking works. A loan is creating new money, inflationary; interest is much higher and savings, deflationary

If you lost your money cuz of bank robbing, you can't have the all money you have invested you got back some part of it.
Crypto is same as normal exchange with one difference; crypto is extremely volatile. You can win if you can control it, but if you go full retard and put your all money with greed, Crypto (especially suspicious coins) destroys you or other people deceives you and take your money.
That’s simply not true about the banks. All of your money is insured up to 250k. And crypto is not like any other exchange because it’s completely unregulated that’s why there’s so much pump and bumps
