When a gifted MC who pays attention to detail, masters their craft, and actually shows up in the game to do more than just make money but stays true to its roots, no one wants problems. People like Em, KDot, Nas, Rakim, etc will always skillfully be on another level from their peers. They may not be as successful artists as the "main stars" like Drake, but when it comes to rapping, everyone knows you don't mess with them lol.

I think this comes down to the individual as Meek went at Game and did well against him. Battle rap does matter because it teaches the art of rebuttal. I think Meek underestimated Drake or didn't take it serious because he had a pretty good diss track until "Pest Control" came out lol.
