Sometimes I just get the feeling that people who say "This anime is childish" are just addicted to gore anime. This anime can be childish in some moments, but it is also very deep and has some real character development, real serious back story. Just because it is a "feel good" kinda anime doesn't mean it is childish imo.
As a 30 year old who watched all of Naruto, My Hero, and One piece sometimes the "Childish" or "Lame" gave me some of the best feels moments and I don't care if it's cheesy at all. My Hero has made me cry NUMEROUS times and certain scenes get me teary eyed every single time I watch it. A great music score, the amazing voice acting and the animation get me and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Bro, more than 60% of adult in Japan below 40yo watch anime these days. There was a survey done by a tv station if I'm not mistaken. Watching a shonen anime while being an adult is not something to be ashamed of, their story are purposefully made to be enjoyed by kids and adults alike. Anime like attack on Titan, Violet Evergarden, or Sukasuka are even made specifically for adult demographic.
Ironically, it's the target demographic that usually complain about shows with heartfelt themes being lame. But it's understandable. You have to have a certain amount of life experience to appreciate different kinds of art. It's like watching a movie again as an adult and realizing how many dirty jokes flew past your head as a kid.
btw just wanted to say that the part with the heroes not figuring out a way to help bakugo and instead just waiting for someone else to do the job is important! i've seen a lot of people brush it off or see it as poor writing on the show's part but it actually sets up future plot points really well. also a person's quirk can affect their personality as well so bakugo being a hothead kinda makes sense haha anyway this show has made me cry soo many times i love it to bits! really enjoying your reactions!
That last scene in episode 2 always makes me cry without fail. I feel Deku's emotions so deeply. Hearing from the very person he has admired since he was young that he, too, can be a hero means so much to him because he wanted his mother to console him with those words. But the fact that the words came from All Might is just too impactful and even more meaningful
the intro doesn’t have spoilers. just characters and what they look like. also all might was right, in that world especially it would be extremely hard to be a hero without a quirk.
Not only does MHAs music hit at the most crucial times.. but the story is actually very deep rooted & interesting I think you'll enjoy it & I'm here for it!
10:40 ik it’s been brought up that the manga creator regrets this line but it’s more than that. It was people’s unwillingness/inability to understand that it was supposed to be bad take. That bakugo went too far w that comment in the moment. Idr if it’s animated in the show but the scene where he’s kicking a can as he walks the can says ‘lip service’. Which is essentially empty words not supported by action and Bakugou friends even comment that what he said was mean even for him. So the mangaka (author) regrets it because so many readers/watchers saw that as who bakugo is as a whole rather than a single bad moment where he effed up. 15:52 in the English the villain calls him a ‘meat suit’ if I’m remembering correctly
(MILD SPOILERS) i hate it when bakugo haters stick to that singular moment for literally the rest of the seasons. even after his great ass development, people are still like "b-but he told deku to swan dive" ITS BEEN 8 YEARS
Man that last scene is peak. The whole monologue about the words he wanted to hear and All Might saying them, the N°1 Hero, is so strong. Makes me tear up every time.
A childhood friend of mine had a dream of becoming a pilot. It’s all he ever talked about. When we went for a sleepover at his house, his bedroom was filled with toy planes, his bedsheets and bathroom mat had planes on them too lol. Even as a kid I remember admiring how sure he was of his future career when I had no clue what I wanted to be when I grew up. We lost contact after I moved to another country but after high school I found out from another friend that he had been diagnosed with colorblindness and it’s impossible for him to become a pilot. I couldn’t help but be reminded of him seeing kid Deku 😢
Let's be real. MHA is a really good anime series that has a good story and is an easy transition for comic fans. Not to mention that the story gets REALLY good later on. Everything in the first 4 seasons is just buildup essentially; with some peaks here and there during the setup. I think it's actually a generational anime at this point with how big it was at the time.
I'm so happy MHA won! It's one of my all time favorite series and I'm caught up with the manga, so just let me said that it's AMAZING! It's interesting to understand the world building and the society the characters live in right from the start to get the main theme of the show. As a psychology student, it has an incredible character building and analysis of the human being, it made me so happy!
Just a heads-up, at 10:38 , the author, Horikoshi, said he regreted writing this line later on and it's never mentioned or brought up again. Even of it's stage live show (yes there is one), the line is never said, which makes me happy.

There is ... 5:00 お見知りおき - ( omishirioki...ohhh I never looked this up before) 1. pleased to make your acquaintance ; formal phrase used on first meeting someone to encourage them to remember you % the "shiri" in the actual phrase means "know". Like... "see and know me". but shiri is also a homophone for "butt". Not ass, but it's difficult to find a good word for the joke. Like it's not as obvious as saying ass-quaintance... the English dub says something completely different, but the butt/bum joke comes across the same as the original, so points there to the dub (though they couldn't get across the Izuku-Deku/ ganbaru (dekiru) thing ... I kinda miss when they just put the lang notes at the top)
The OST playing when Deku charges in to save Bakugo is called "You Say Run" and it has become a somewhat meme over the years. There is a whole thing going on called "You Say Run goes with everything" where people make videos of other anime or even real life scenarios and put this OST on top and it just fits. It's hilarious. For this very reason and his work on Haikyu!!, Yuki Hayashi quickly became one of my all time fav composers haha.

I’m glad you’re reacting to this! I feel like I’ve aged out of it (I don’t mean literal age but, like, taste wise) but I remember watching the first few season gave me a great feeling inside. Maybe this reaction will give it back to me. Edit: oh yeah there’s the constant sexualisation of women and girls which is very on brand for a lot of anime, i almost forgot.
I think maybe a lot of people who dismiss this show do that because it's really idealistic, and they (incorrectly!) see it as naïve for that? I like it; it's not perfect, but it touches on a lot of complex things, it's incredibly kind, and some of the character design is great (and often silly! That's not necessarily a bad thing!).
The composer of the music for MHA is the same guy who did the music for Haikyuu (which is actually the thing that made me interested in watching MHA in the first place) so you’re in for a hype soundtrack!
The main reason that they are not attacking togeher is that only one person can actually afford to attack, Death Arms, and he is not strong enough to do anything. Kamui Woods cannot attack because if he gets into the fire he will die, Backdraft cannot attack because he is the only thing keeping the fire from being unstoppable, and Mount Lady cannot attack because she simply cannot fit.
People become obsessed with certain things/genres they can’t help but hate on other things lol I just recently watched this too and I didn’t know so many ppl disliked it looool Idk I just enjoyed it too. Ah, and this year I opened a vol 1 in public or somewhere and they actually show the beating) Heh the naming (or at least how they sound) amuses me 1:45 Izuku GREEN-doriya. Man, I love this series. Not as much as Haikyuu, but a lot. The 2nd ep makes me cry like a baby. Also, since you mentioned the music a lot... the same person who does the OST for this does the OST for Haikyuu.
Dude All Might's 3 Hours is already up when he returned to his normal self on the top of the building. You gotta pay attention so you can understand what is being setup in the future episodes

Oh nice MHA, haven't watched it since s6 aired. So it will be cool to experience it again from a reaction channels point of view. Also don't mind those individuals that says such & such anime is either bad or trash. Just brush their unnecessary comments aside, they always like that with majority of anime nowadays. I mean even Haikyuu gets trash talked in a similar manner unfortunately. It's best just to ignore them and enjoy an anime at your own pace
glad you like it. Although I would recommend you start watching the "short animes" so you can have a huge taste of what anime is about. Some animes run just for 12 ep other 2 seasons of 12 so 24 and others like this one is like 60+ ep so far I think. So yeah I hope you enjoy more types of animes

Personally I think the only parts that are a bit weaker are the middle bits, I first section, and the current section is absolutely peak. But I feel the middle *can* feel a bit dragged on. But this is a fantastic show overall

I'm super late to this series but, the last person that told me Anime was, "Childish", I traumatized the fuck out of them by showing Naruto's backstory😂. They left me alone after that LOL. Just show the tragic backstories of these so called, ""Childish"" Anime's. Anybody with half a brain will tell you that none of the anime's we watched growing up was meant for kids😂
i know youre up to season 2 now so i really hope you don't drop this anime! i always get afraid that reactioners with a low view numbers will drop their shows so i really hope you don't. its so hard to find mha reactions who didn't drop at season 4 or didn't start at season 6
you really should look at events with a more realistic approach. Despite the fact that this show is a little too simple and forgiving (so you can say that it's childish), it takes heroism seriously as a JOB. As a HERO you can d!e for nothing if there is no plan or you are weaker than your opponent, or let someone else, who you supposed to protect, d!e, because you got hurt or wasted your strength thoughtlessly, like the ALL MIGHT in these episodes. That's why you just can't be a hero if you are A PRIORI weaker than any taken villain (a criminal with superpowers who is caught by the heroes). You can always get stronger, but everything has limits, and (unless you find some crazy way to surpass them) faith and intelligence are not enough. And diligence, too. Izuku is realistically speaking not only useless, but can also create problems. Dаmn, no one will want to hire him, even if he somehow gets the official status of a hero. But he could have succeeded in something else and found a new place for himself (after all, there are not many people who have fulfilled all their dreams, even childish or absurd ones, sometimes it is better to let go). That's why we have to dream, but be aware. So, ALL MIGHT first advice is actually great. Izuku doesn't have the genetics to do the "hero" job, but he could also save lives by doing the still heroic work of a doctor, policeman, or firefighter. And if the ALL MIGHT had said "ha ha ha, just do whatever you dream of", the early, terrible and inevitable death of a child who was too ambitious would have been on the conscience of hero No. 1. But since the series has already spoiled for some reason, we know that Midoriya will find some way to become a hero, even if he has a one in a million chance. Bakugou may be too harsh, but you will quickly realize that the author sees him as a growing child who can make mistakes, be imperfect, insecure, and then eventually learn something. Therefore, if you consider yourself more mature and kind, you should act like it and be ready to look closely to see that all these people are not evil or weak, they just lack experience and need guidance. This is one of the lessons taught in high school - how to be a decent person. And you can still learn something about it even later in lfe, so.. In a sense, we can even feel sorry for children for the fact that they do not yet know how wrong they are, they do not know that they see the world and themselves completely differently than it really is. But in anime, of course, there are no perfect characters - they are needed to teach someone something by learning somethig themselves. And even if we are so grown up and smart, we can try and see something new in "childish cartoon", if we want to be better. Just try to be more lenient with Katsuki and maybe some others in the future, as if they are flowers that grew up to be able to live in the conditions in which they were planted. Try to understand their reasons if they behave unpredictably or rudely, from your point of view. After all, not only fictional stories, but life is more interesting when you see it from different angles. And also.. Some quirks are tied to people's appearance, and 80% of people in the whole world have quirks, so the percentage of those who look strange is high, but.. not that we choose to have, for example, acne or strange facial features, or even a certain skin color, you know? (Another point about Izuku's dream, by the way, is that he is in the minority of 20% of people devoid of quirks, so those who make a living driving, teaching or something else are still more suitable in terms of body and development capacity for the hero than Midoriya). I LOVE this show, but I still see that there are flaws in all of this. However, they do not affect the good moments, do not spoil good messages and lessons, and do not prevent us from living a short imaginary extra life full of sincere emotions with interesting, unique, but reality-based characters.

I like this as well, just dont like the story of the manga later. I'm a sucker for really good story writing & setups, so while enjoyable, it for me personally ruins it. I wont say wjen it happens somce spoilers but its so very later it doesnt matter, you'd probably not even notice. And this fandom for some reason has really weird shippers who are personification of Twitter users.
Stop shipping intros. When we all watch a currently running season no one skips intros its dumb af. There are only spoilers after youve seen the season. Images without context only make sense after youve seen the season. This is only the second dumbest shit after the dub vs sub bs
I'm fine either way. I get that there may be some "spoilers" in some intros but but for me the intro is part of the show and is meant to be watched. It hypes the show for me and makes me think what's going to happen in the future. And so far, there hasn't been opening that has yet changed my mind in over 15 years of watching anime.

For me it was just... they started out with the heroes attempts -- Death Arms can't punch or grab him (Izuku tried this when he was attacked, so this is pre-established), Backdraft is the only one who could control the fire (though maybe if he powerwashed it, it could mess with the slime consistency?), and Kamui will blow up and burn to death so he's more suited for using the many branches to prevent more casualties. Idk about the baseball guys, but in Izuku's case and Katsuki's case, the only clear remedy was this (wow this is a novel) was a _less_ direct attack that creates 'wind pressure' which just disperses the slime villain

The OST playing when Deku charges in to save Bakugo is called "You Say Run" and it has become a somewhat meme over the years. There is a whole thing going on called "You Say Run goes with everything" where people make videos of other anime or even real life scenarios and put this OST on top and it just fits. It's hilarious. For this very reason and his work on Haikyu!!, Yuki Hayashi quickly became one of my all time fav composers haha.

I think maybe a lot of people who dismiss this show do that because it's really idealistic, and they (incorrectly!) see it as naïve for that? I like it; it's not perfect, but it touches on a lot of complex things, it's incredibly kind, and some of the character design is great (and often silly! That's not necessarily a bad thing!).

The main reason that they are not attacking togeher is that only one person can actually afford to attack, Death Arms, and he is not strong enough to do anything. Kamui Woods cannot attack because if he gets into the fire he will die, Backdraft cannot attack because he is the only thing keeping the fire from being unstoppable, and Mount Lady cannot attack because she simply cannot fit.

Oh nice MHA, haven't watched it since s6 aired. So it will be cool to experience it again from a reaction channels point of view. Also don't mind those individuals that says such & such anime is either bad or trash. Just brush their unnecessary comments aside, they always like that with majority of anime nowadays. I mean even Haikyuu gets trash talked in a similar manner unfortunately. It's best just to ignore them and enjoy an anime at your own pace

glad you like it. Although I would recommend you start watching the "short animes" so you can have a huge taste of what anime is about. Some animes run just for 12 ep other 2 seasons of 12 so 24 and others like this one is like 60+ ep so far I think. So yeah I hope you enjoy more types of animes

Personally I think the only parts that are a bit weaker are the middle bits, I first section, and the current section is absolutely peak. But I feel the middle *can* feel a bit dragged on. But this is a fantastic show overall

you really should look at events with a more realistic approach.
Despite the fact that this show is a little too simple and forgiving (so you can say that it's childish), it takes heroism seriously as a JOB. As a HERO you can d!e for nothing if there is no plan or you are weaker than your opponent, or let someone else, who you supposed to protect, d!e, because you got hurt or wasted your strength thoughtlessly, like the ALL MIGHT in these episodes. That's why you just can't be a hero if you are A PRIORI weaker than any taken villain (a criminal with superpowers who is caught by the heroes).
You can always get stronger, but everything has limits, and (unless you find some crazy way to surpass them) faith and intelligence are not enough. And diligence, too. Izuku is realistically speaking not only useless, but can also create problems. Dаmn, no one will want to hire him, even if he somehow gets the official status of a hero.
But he could have succeeded in something else and found a new place for himself (after all, there are not many people who have fulfilled all their dreams, even childish or absurd ones, sometimes it is better to let go). That's why we have to dream, but be aware.
So, ALL MIGHT first advice is actually great. Izuku doesn't have the genetics to do the "hero" job, but he could also save lives by doing the still heroic work of a doctor, policeman, or firefighter. And if the ALL MIGHT had said "ha ha ha, just do whatever you dream of", the early, terrible and inevitable death of a child who was too ambitious would have been on the conscience of hero No. 1.
But since the series has already spoiled for some reason, we know that Midoriya will find some way to become a hero, even if he has a one in a million chance.
Bakugou may be too harsh, but you will quickly realize that the author sees him as a growing child who can make mistakes, be imperfect, insecure, and then eventually learn something. Therefore, if you consider yourself more mature and kind, you should act like it and be ready to look closely to see that all these people are not evil or weak, they just lack experience and need guidance. This is one of the lessons taught in high school - how to be a decent person. And you can still learn something about it even later in lfe, so.. In a sense, we can even feel sorry for children for the fact that they do not yet know how wrong they are, they do not know that they see the world and themselves completely differently than it really is.
But in anime, of course, there are no perfect characters - they are needed to teach someone something by learning somethig themselves. And even if we are so grown up and smart, we can try and see something new in "childish cartoon", if we want to be better.
Just try to be more lenient with Katsuki and maybe some others in the future, as if they are flowers that grew up to be able to live in the conditions in which they were planted. Try to understand their reasons if they behave unpredictably or rudely, from your point of view. After all, not only fictional stories, but life is more interesting when you see it from different angles.
And also.. Some quirks are tied to people's appearance, and 80% of people in the whole world have quirks, so the percentage of those who look strange is high, but.. not that we choose to have, for example, acne or strange facial features, or even a certain skin color, you know?
(Another point about Izuku's dream, by the way, is that he is in the minority of 20% of people devoid of quirks, so those who make a living driving, teaching or something else are still more suitable in terms of body and development capacity for the hero than Midoriya).
I LOVE this show, but I still see that there are flaws in all of this. However, they do not affect the good moments, do not spoil good messages and lessons, and do not prevent us from living a short imaginary extra life full of sincere emotions with interesting, unique, but reality-based characters.

Stop shipping intros. When we all watch a currently running season no one skips intros its dumb af. There are only spoilers after youve seen the season. Images without context only make sense after youve seen the season. This is only the second dumbest shit after the dub vs sub bs
I'm fine either way. I get that there may be some "spoilers" in some intros but but for me the intro is part of the show and is meant to be watched. It hypes the show for me and makes me think what's going to happen in the future. And so far, there hasn't been opening that has yet changed my mind in over 15 years of watching anime.
