I agree, being always too nice is not a good thing, eventually it will cause more issues than positives. It will not make you a happy person either. The danger is that you may agree to things that you actually do not like, because you are not assertive enough to say it. If you have a problem with being too nice, it would probably be worth looking into the root of the issue - why are you so nice to other people? Maybe it all started when you were a child, you grew up in a dysfunctional family, you had an abusive father or mother. It is never too late to change yourself.
I worked at places where people have done some childish yet messed up stuff. I'm here to tell you nice isn't what I was and didn't care what other people had to say. But to go on working and focusing on my job as these people did what they did which was wrong really had me thinking if I wanted to work with that type of crew. I rather not and I wouldn't care if another Co worker or someone else felt some type of way about it either I left that job gladly and what I think about more the the childish mess is it was nice to plant flowers and then it was a goodbye
Thanks. Very good advices! Could you explain in more detail the mechanism of becoming a prey after being too nice? I'm not disagreeing, I'd just like to understand how that works. The way I see it is - people who don't have enough of self-love and acceptance, will ask for them in the external world. But how does it lead to becoming a prey? Like, because X will tolerate everything? But why others decide to "step over" X?
Generally speaking "predators" tend to target "nice" people because they're usually seen as pushovers and people who are easy to manipulate. "Nice" people run the risk of being steamrolled and not establishing boundaries or asserting themselves. This is why we differentiate between nice and kind. There's a difference :) Hope that helps!
@@ExplearningCo thank you! So as I understand it now - "nice" people want to be liked, so they agree on everything, they don't reject anyone - they don't have boundaries. So that their side makes it easier for evil people to lure them into their schemes? However, it could work the same way for kind people - I mean convincing "nice" people into something good and empowering. Like, "kind" people lose their will because of their "agree"-ingness?
thank you! It was informative, good editing, and well structured. The pace was a bit slow for someone like me who loves watching CGP Grey and Exurb1a videos. But overall, good video.
I've made two mistakes in the workplace that I learned from. 1. Telling people 'anything you need'. 2. Working too hard to please my employer.
I think we all know someone who has ended up as prey and it's usually the hardest working ones!

Great explanatuin, In order to for nice person to be assertive first they should try being agressive tell they reach that balance.
