    I started Invisalign in January and in April my orthodontist realised I had developed an asymmetrical bite issue. So I had to wear traditional braces! I’m almost done, I pretty much have another month to go and then I’ll be having Invisalign again.

    I wanted traditional braces, but my ortho recommended invisalign for me. She said itd be a lot less metal (i have narrow arches) and less pain. She doesnt use attachments unless she sees its necessary. Im glad i got the aligners overall, but the new lifestyle is kinda annoying.

      @@yes7855 narrow arches, like you took an arch and pinched the sides in together where there's not a lot of space. So it created crowding for me. With the invisalign, the trays grab the whole tooth and can pull outwards creating an wider arch and more room for the teeth to fit instead of extraction.

    • @unbreakmyheart
      @unbreakmyheart 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@drinny26 im still going. I got rescanned last month and got my new trays. I've been having tracking problems throughout bc a couple my teeth didn't form completely so they're small. The trays were made bigger than my teeth actually are. But now they fit much better and I'm using the app to help keep me in check with wearing them properly. I'm hoping to be done in 2021. I have friends who have it and we all have a love/hate relationship with the aligners lol

    I recently finished repair treatments and my dentist said wants me to start sure smile to fix my crooked teeth, I’m waiting for them to send the molds to him. He said we can put whitening agents with the aligners since my teeth are stained from coffee drinking since i was young. By wearing it 20 hours a day roughly that seems to give 1 hour out for breakfast, 1 for lunch, 1 for dinner. 1 extra hour for cleaning/brush and floss. That’s a tight schedule and makes me nervous and excited because I’ve never had straight teething. I wonder how quick my results will be. Thanks for the video explanation! I didn’t know bone compensates to fill the gap after teeth move, I’m glad they don’t just get loose. :) And cool to see you are a UC grad, cheers from a Banana Slug living in UT now. :)

    After my Invisalign treatment was complete, I had asymmetrical bite issue. I was only able to make a closed bite on the left side of my jaw and not the right side. The dentist insisted this issue will go away, but it never did.. The dentist eventually cut my retainer in half, getting rid of the side where my bite was not closing.. Is this practised normally? I feel like a science experiment...

    Clear retainers and clear aligners looks the same. Whats the difference between them?

    • @af-pqueen4287
      @af-pqueen4287 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Retainers are when you want to keep the teeth in that position forever and aligners move your teeth. You wont get retainers till your treatment is over

    Can you use 3D printing technology to make a replacement retainer after losing the original? I lost my original retainer, and went in to make the mold for another retainer, but within the time that I didn’t have the original retainer (about 9 days) my teeth moved. The new retainer I received is not closing the small spaces I have.. what can I do ?

    Interesting video thank you , are elastics compulsory in invisalign treatment or is it typically for overbite ? I read that elastics are for most of patients meaning almost all patients :) i do not have overbite but fear to wear some...

      I guess it depends on your case. I had a cross bite so I had to wear them, but I've seen plenty of people that haven't had them

    Hey dr, I just got my braces off a couple of days ago and I now have my retainer (the Invisalign ones) and everything was fine until I take out my retainers to eat or brush. When I take my retainers out my bite is really off and before I wore the retainers everything was perfect, now I can’t touch my molars without my retainers on. Is this normal? What should I do?

    Why does it seem ortho docs try to talk patients out of Invisalign? It seems it it would be easier to wear these all day than braces.

    • @Megan-zp3bo
      @Megan-zp3bo 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t know why they would talk patients out of Invisalign but I’ve had mine for just about 2 years and if I was offered braces I would’ve got braces. It’s super super annoying and hard to adjust to wearing them 20-22 hours a day.

    • @fernycarrasco1157
      @fernycarrasco1157 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When I got mine, the lady that did my financials (not the ortho) said that some docs don't recommend Invisalign because it really needs a compliant and responsible patient, so many times people didn't wear them as they should and then weren't happy with the results, or the treatment took longer or it just simply didn't work.
