I still love this timeless belter of a song nearly 40 years later, it's one of those happy and uplifting songs from one of the most iconic 80's films that has stood the test of time. Any replication of this song always puts a smile on your face and takes your right back to a happier, easier time. I drum this song in our local retro band with great pride. Rip Greedy Smith, you were a true entertainer and gent.
I don't care how old the song is. It's timeless. Hearing this really woke up some forgotten memories for me. It was actually very emotional. Oh and the lead singer is still bang on in this performance. Sadly he has passed on now but at least he has left us with this song. RIP My Friend.
The 70s and the 80s were the best times to grow from a teen to a young man I don't care what anyone says, ,,, now im just a old man with great memories
Completely underrated and one of the classic dance song of the 80s, that completely belongs in top 10... But it's still living up on my playlist, and I'm still mental 😮
boom....and just like that only two comments in...the youtube comments section 'underrated' word fetish is right there. my god is it comical and bizarre...
It strikes me how close this sounds to the original. The studio original is always better, but there's not much in it here: proving they were a pretty good band. As well as this being one of the best songs of the eighties, of course.
Such an extension of Greedy's personality. You can just picture him actually doing this. Lifting up someone who is down in the dumps. It is really a very beautiful song.
Loved this song,I was standing at side of dance floor waiting for my friend and a guy came up and mimed this to me (it was playing)I smiled and shook my head. Many years ago but it brings back lovely memories 😊
This song brings back so many memories, such a great 'feel good' song from a period in my life that i loved. great to see you guys playing it still. Amazing performance.
If you compare this gig with their performances from the 80s, you quickly realize that these old boys are still having just as much fun today as they did back then.👍 I wish them many more gigs!
Wonder if they know how meany rangers fans are listing to this just now! Thinking of Neil 🤣 ps that guy sounds the same as I seen him on top of the pops way back. Class
The Mentals were always best enjoyed live. THAT is where we saw their irreverence, their spontaneity, their mischief, their wit and their banter. None more so, than that from Greedy. We miss you, mate!
@@lucassgolfadventures622 that’s a very stupid comment. It’s obviously been our priority every year, whatever league we’ve been in. And it’ll be achieved this season
@@stavroshardcore state the obvious Stavros lol you clearly missed my sarcasm. What I meant was it hasn't shown recently as you have won sweet FA. Not the same when you have to explain humour 😂
This is the coolest band I’ve ever seen at selwyn sounds in Lincoln Canterbury New Zealand 🇳🇿 One artist beats them cos it’s an artist and that’s Jimmy Barnes But as a Kiwi love Jordan Luck and his band they are cool and Sir Dave Dobbyn

This is one of the happiest songs ever written pure perfection. I loved it since the first time hearing it. And very sad to hear the singers passed
This song is both lively, and yet so melancholic too.. underated gem.

I think that this song was inspired by the singer seeing a young woman crying in a nightclub one night.
