My wife & I used to dance to this song until cancer took her away from me a few days ago. I know that one day we'll dance together again in perfect harmony.
So sorry for your loss. But good for you that you can find peace and love in his music. And hoping you and her looked at each other with the love that Bruce and Patti do in this video.
@@bcal4877 Yes we did, despite being mature Boomers we were both very young at heart, went everywhere together always holding hands just like first loves do. we still drove around in the same old car that we started dating in all those years ago because of the beautiful memories it helped to give us, now I want to restore it back to its former glory
Sorry for your loss. I hope that you're okay. As Bruce said in Born To Run: "Someday, girl, i don't when, we're gonna get to that place where we really wanna go, and we'll walk in the sun". Greetings ♥️

My Heart goes out to you, having had a very similar experience myself nearly 3 years ago hold fast to the wonderful memories that the 2 of you made they will sustain you through the darkest hours of pain & grief. Time does heal the pain eventually, but every so often the grief will bite you but love conquers that pain and you'll find that you can live again, difficult at first but trust me, after a while you'll get back on your feet . You're in my thoughts & prayers. Peace

I am a 45 year old woman who has been divorced two times. I have tons of baggage; within four years I lost my sister, my father, my mother and my sixteen year old son. I have been beaten in every conceivable way by men. Just as I was ready to give up on life, I met my soul mate. He is a blessing and he isn't afraid of all that I am. This is my song to him.
Hearing this song will make you realize how fragile 🦋we are as a human race. And how precious true love is and Rare. Hold on to what's yours with all that you have. And don't ever let go🌴
And don't ever let go... tried that until my spouse caught a real bad case of dementia, Mary. And when you're 81 you really don't have a lotta choice in the matter regarding the letting go thing...

This takes me back to the 80s to my youth love ❤️ this song so much n love Bruce Springsteen one of my favourites of his could listen to it over n over Great stuff!!
Bruce, my brother was your biggest fan! He traveled all over the world to see you in concert. After our Mom passed, he went to all your concerts one year. He passed away unexpectedly on 04/15 but was in the process of planning if he was going to Europe to catch all of those shows. He had said either way he would be catching all the shows in Pittsburgh and Philly. This past fall, he caught all of the shows in Texas and OKC. We used to joke he was a borderline stalker, but it was just your music helped him through some very rough times at a younger age and that hooked him in. We used to joke when he would go on a run of your concerts that he was at Bruce-a-poolza. He loved the song the river. It was one of his favorites! I would love if you could play it in honor of him at one of your Pennsylvania concerts he had planned to attend. His name was Kent Thompson. 🫶🏻❤️ TIA and for touching my brother's heart like you did with your music and lyrics. ❤
Aweeee, I am so very sorry about your dear brother!!! I hope Bruce gets your message/request for that song and sings it for him. Love and prayers!!! ~Steve C.🙏❤
I like the way Patti looks at Bruce during the duet. So absolutely in love. The idea of cutting scenes from the Tunnel of Love tour and couples into the video is also great. A great memory and a great contemporary document.
From the moment the camera zooms in on those boots I get goosebumps.. Springsteen (and the E. Street Band) is an absolute force.. this song can change a bad day.. or in my case .. my Life.. .
One of my all time favourites Bruce songs. Watched him sing it live at Bramhall Lane, Sheffield, UK when I was 15 years old. From then on, I was hooked. I'm 50 now, and going to see him this week for the 6th time.
This was my grandma's favorite song. Definitely also her favorite drinking song haha. She passed just over a month ago. Thinking of you wherever you are...
✝️💝🕊I'm an old grandma myself and understand. So sorry for your loss. She was blessed to have a granddaughter who loved her and enjoyed time and music with her.
Sometimes I feel like I was born in the wrong generation based on my music taste. (I'm 18 years old) Nothing can touch me deeper than the good old songs, just like this one!
Just enjoy the good music that your parents enjoyed. I am 62 and live in South Africa. We learned so much good music from each other in the army. 2 years well spent.
I’m closing in on 36 (so 2x your age) and constantly feel born in the wrong generation myself. I grew up on Springsteen, Fleetwood Mac, Doobie Brothers/Allman Brothers, Stones, Beatles, The Eagles, Bowie, and many more but Elton John being the biggest impact on my life. Watching Almost Famous in Theaters 3x with my Mom is something I’ll always cherish as it was like stepping back into a time when I felt most “at home”. It’s wonderful that people like you & I are able to connect with the words & music of the generations that came before, as they are truly the epitome of what GREAT music IS. Keep listening & exploring the greats & never let anyone put down what music you find loving & know that you aren’t the only one. These songs are TIMELESS & will be here long after we are for, hopefully, many more generations to adore! ❤ -Robin
@@FigmentForever 37 here, almost 38. Im technically an older millenial but grew up more like a gen x with a lil boomer sprinkled in there with how old my parents are. I was raised on the classics at home and alternative and rap at school. I like a little of everything. Except country, very little of it i like and im from the south.
When the camera zooms in on those boots you just know you're about to be blown away by an absolute ROCK STAR ! ..there will never be another like this man .. I feel so lucky to have witness his greatness several times in concert .. and this song is simply one of the most beautiful and poetic songs of all time, it's perfection in every sense !
I am so thrilled , the man who more than likely saved my life .. found true love...which very welled saved his life .. oh yeah... This song is perfection !
I saw Bruce Springsteen in Helsinki 2003 and when I got married 2008 our taxi driver said Bruce had been in the taxi, what a god sign for this marriage i thought😅. Still listen to his music 2024 and probably will listen for the rest of my life.
There are great songs... There are masterpieces.. then there are songs on another level... No way to describe this song... If you really care about someone.. play this... If they don't like it .. find someone else to care about.. someone with a soul !!!
This is fantastic! The entire delivery is amazing! The way they look at each other and the harmony is beautiful! And the variety with a quiet, pensive beginning, ending with the harmonica! Love this! I've listened to it probably 30 times since yesterday! I had a tape of Bruce's back in the '80's but now have a renewed appreciation of him (and Patti) and the whole band , here at 68 years old! Love you!💗
Then search utube for his rendition of Tyrone Davis "If I Could Turn Back the Hands of Time!" Surprised it was so good because I'm a stickler for the OGs! Michael Bolton ruined Dock of the Bay imo, but Springsteen delivers. You'll enjoy it! From another 68er!
I'm middle-aged now but i'm so glad i've been able to have lived with Bruce Springsteen in the background as an accompaniment to my life.Thank you Boss.
My dad and I danced with this song while he coocked dinner at night. I miss him so much, his presence, his laugh, his big hands and much love. Ay, dad, I think of you so so so much x
Sweet song...my late husband introduced this song to me back in 1987. It's been 3yrs yesterday that Leo flew off to Paradiso and all I could think of yesterday was this awesome piece of art by Bruce Springsteen. I appreciate you 🙏🕊💞🕊🙏
This masterpiece was played on my father's funeral even though he didn't know all lyrics. But he knew that it meant strong love beweeen him and my mom. I held speech on funeral and when this song started I almost burst into cry. But I held it for my father as he always wanted for me and my brother to be though in a good way, and Bruce helped there. Wonderful. Thank you Bruce.
Same here, man. My father passed almost two weeks ago and always said he wanted this song to be played at his cremation. I've been listening to it almost non stop ever since. What a masterpiece.
Haven 't heard the song for at least 35 years. Immediatly felt the same deep emotional heart-burn. It hits even harder with lots of life-lessons learned.
Not a day goes by that I don't listen to this song🥰. One of the most beautiful I've ever heard. I feel less tired and more in love with life when I listen to this music. Wish those who listen to these songs feel happy and less tired😘.
Tomorrow I am 77 years old . So many years I have enjoyed this guy. Played his songs in Jags (so many of these), Mercs, Range Rovers and now , the last of my cars, a mini cooper s convertable. What could be better. Top down with the King playing through the system. One of my girlfriend's hated him and his voice. She did not last too long with me when she told me this. My Home Town made me appreciate the town I came from after many years of hiding my roots.
This song you never want to end, absolutely beautiful song.

I sometimes come to Bruce’s videos to see all these beautiful and loving comments. It just restores some faith within me. Thank you all. Thank you boss.
Chris Iceton: Totally!!!! Agree!!! Thank you !! I’m going through some ‘BS’ again with yet another stupid guy who doesn’t know what’s good in life and it’s sooo hard!!! when you give everything, are loving and fun and they treat it like dirt and are even at age 53 STILL not ready for a serious relationship!!
~Steve C.🙏❤

One of my all time favourites Bruce songs. Watched him sing it live at Bramhall Lane, Sheffield, UK when I was 15 years old. From then on, I was hooked. I'm 50 now, and going to see him this week for the 6th time.
Had no idea he’d played there. Lived in Sheffield for a few years around 25 years ago, just down the road from Bramhall Lane.
