    Good topic on exercise tonight! Just chatted with my husband this week about what Dr. Boz has to say about intense exercise using ketones and fat loss.

      Diet can give you more protein 🎁
      Protein-rich foods can help in speeding up the weight loss process. As protein keeps you full for long hours, it can be useful in losing weight. So, keeping in mind all the facts, we can say that a healthy and balanced diet is more important than exercise for weight loss!. myinsta @diettipsandplans

    High intensity resistance training is superior to high intensity interval training for increasing mitochondria.

    Dr. Boz, I have been practicing a ketogenic lifestyle since 2019. What I found with exercise is far less muscle soreness after I became fat adapted. I run, do yoga and Pilates. I find that my muscles may feel tired, however I do not experience that lactic acid soreness as often if ever.

    Why now when i am intermittent fasting then do a fairly extensive work out just before breaking the fast i get a substanial blood sugar spike , even though my gut tells me to eat something and i feel like i hit the wall until i eat then a hour or so later back to feeling normal and bs are back to normal too where does the glocose come from . can adding collagen to my coffee cause this spike. I do drink a butter cream coffee at first light with keto elevate but that never had that effect before its always seem to help with my ketones until now adding this ageless collagen

      Look up cori cycle and also the adrenaline response from an intense work out can raise your blood glucose levels. It is normal physiology. Hey, I also think your keto coffee will break your fast.

    I had a trainer at lifetime fitness tell me this “I can guarantee I will get you under 15% body fat with exercise “. Of course this is at 150 a session. I was so mad. It’s a horrible thing to tell someone over 30% body fat!

    This is disheartening. I am an athlete and I cant wait 3 months to be at baseline performance. I can handle a couple weeks max of a dip in performance, but not 3 months. Thats a life time for an athlete. Any tips? What can I do?

    Dr.boz, been doing keto since January and still can’t get consistently keto. Doc just put me on met Forman, fasting blood sugars range 110-125 and ketones never above .4. I’m at my wits end and don’t know what to do.

    Need advise.... I have been keto for 2 1/2 years. I have seen awesome health benefits and some weight loss but have hit stall. I am currently not testing ketones (blood strips not in budget). I do have peetones... should I use those until they are dark purple before exercising?

  • @1eingram
    @1eingram 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The ketones in blood go down after a ling time because the cells get better at using them. (keto since June 2018)

    How much does having wine at night increase the glucose? Should I just give up wine? What’s your advise?

    • @wendyshrader4516
      @wendyshrader4516 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t have experience measuring glucose after drinking wine however I know that alcohol will pause your ketosis at the very least. The body treats alcohol as poison and must process the alcohol first and foremost. A friend that I was coaching on Keto had been stalled for quite some time. She gave up her glass of wine at night and dropped several pounds quickly. I know it’s anecdotal but maybe it will help answer your question.

      Consider getting a cgm without a prescription if your doctor will not provide one. Watch your fasting exercise results. AUC(area under curve) will convince you that Dr Boz is absolutely right!
      CGMs (continuous glucose monitors) do not measure insulin nor do they directly measure inflammation. Strategic use of a CGM can help you focus and self select any activities that match Dr Boz' counsel and advice.

      That's a rather rude comment.
      I think her content was very useful and the study she linked in her show notes was a good read as well. Do read it if you get a chance. It's only 2 pages, so you'll probably won't find it too long-winded.
