Both my own recent Robot vac purchase, as well as the one i purchased for my parents last Christmas were both based on your recommendations, and both they and I have been extremely happy with them both!
I always love your comparison videos. I got the D10+ last year based on your recommendation and it has been great (as long as the floor is relatively clutter free). It also integrates well with Home Assistant if you use the Mi Home app (and not the Dreamehome app).
For anyone else who happens to see this comment, with the Dreamehome add-on from HACS in Home Assistant, The D10 Plus works really well through the Dreamehome app, which is nice because the experience in that app is better than the Mi Home app.
Your comparison videos are by far the best for any of the products you cover. I do miss you mentioning the smart home functionality of these products though. As someone who won't have a portable spy camera in my house, knowing wether a robot vacuum will work without internet is a must and i cant be your only viewer in this position, especially given your history with Home Assistant related content.
I’m amazed at the quality and science behind these videos. Thanks for your work! Based on your recommendations elsewhere, I recently bought an L10s Ultra refurbished from eBay for $400 directly from Dreame and with 2 years warranty from Allstate, which is a great value and can mop very well too. Yeah, my vacuum reviews are really strange when it comes to viewership. Usually about 90% of views come from non-subscribers, vs 40% on security camera videos and 30% on LED videos.
Thank you for providing such a thorough comparison. This was so helpful. I’d really like to use your links but the link for the dreame d10+ is (I think) the older generation and $373 on Amazon where the gen 2 is less. So you might want to update your link. Otherwise, thank you for such an amazing video.
Ive owned quiet a few robo vacuums in my time. The roborock s5. Shark auto empty, roomba j7+. The robotock was the best despite bot having auto empty. Its brush also tangled super fast. But otherwise it was great. The shark's brush rately tangles. And i have 2 large dogs that both shed. The roomba is the most annoying thing ever. I still use it cause it has good obstacle avoidance. But ill find it stuck in the corner. It never sent me an alert it just quiet vacuuming. If you dont clean the brushes hair and gur will tangle so bad after some time that they break the brishes. The auto empty base is loud enough to cause hearing damage. And its charging contacts have to be cleaned once a month or else it wont charge. Irobot sucks. Id never recommend their atuff to anyone. Robo rock is the way to go.
Thank you for your awesome reviews!! They’ve helped me make great purchases. I need to replace my home theater projector. Have/will you be reviewing the Dengbei Mars Pro 2 next to the JMGO N1s 4k ultra units?
You can go into playback settings and adjust speed. You can go further and set a custom speed if the 0.75, 0.5, 0.25% don't suit your needs. 0.9 - 0.8 still sounds pretty good.
Great video. I reckon my next buy is that Roborok! Have you stopped reviewing Shelly stuff? I've had some VERY mixed results with their kit - the Shelly b1 and it's modern descendant are still superb but their Door/Window sensors are a complete waste of time. And the i4 switches can be very buggy if your home wifi uses extenders.
I still have a lot of shelly stuff in the house, but you can only make so many videos about wiring up a simple relay. Yes, I agree, BLE and WiFi are terrible protocols for battery powered sensors. Zigbee, ZWave and occasionally RF are much better choices.
@@TheHookUp I've recently bought some Yo kit... not the most pleasant company to deal with if you have problems frankly AND their concept of waterproof kit is laughable! However it does have one stunning advantage over the wifi likes of Shelly... the range it works over is phenomenal - I can operate their devices down the road in the village! But one other major issue I had was the fact that plumbing connections for their solenoid water valve are American and it's an absolute bugger to get adaptors to plumb it into anything European or British... in short Yo need to realise that the world is not just America!

Im especially looking to see how it stacks up against the current Dangbei, Hisense, JMGO 4K models. Hear any word from the grapevine on the release dates for the Hisense C2 series of projectors?
Yes, and yes. All I can say is that I was planning on doing that review on October 11th, but due to some delays on certain lifestyle projector release dates that video is now scheduled for November 8th.
@@TheHookUp Cool!! Sounds like they will all be available in time for Black Friday 2024. Looking forward to more of your outstanding comparison reviews! Thanks Buddy!!👍
Thank you. In this economy no way i can spend 1k-1500 on a vacuum. Maybe you can do a test on best stand alone robot mop or budget vac/mop. Also non self emptying its just one more thing to pack up in case I don't like the vacuum and return. lol
Please could you recommend which I should go for. I’m currently debating between the Roborock Q5 pro and the Dreametech D10 plus, we are a family filled with a head full of curly hair and short haired dogs and have a mixture of carpet and hard floor through our home. I’m aware that the Roborock doesn’t have the empty station but I’m not sure that’s a big game changer for us, is it just the same as the Roborock in this video just without the emptying station or worse? Which would you recommend for us please?
If your budget prevents you from getting the Roborock with the auto empty station then the D10 plus will give you a much better overall experience. You can also upgrade to the TriCut brush later if you find you are having hair tangle issues.
Thankyou so much! I’m actually struggling to find the Roborock with the emptying station as I’m in the UK and can only find the Q5 pro available as I’ve looked everywhere for it since your video and can only find the Q7max+ which is now the same price as the Q5 in this video at the minute. However I’m struggling to find a comparison including the Q7 and the D10, would you still go for the D10 or would you consider the Q7max+ ?
Mops are generally much more expensive. The best mop for the lowest price (by far) is the Dreametech L10S Ultra: amzn.to/48pNUIa Full review here: th-cam.com/video/31hueQqN7Wk/w-d-xo.html
After having to shampoo the house twice after a pooptastrophe from a eufy L50, I'm on the hunt for object avoidance. The cheapest models with camera (aka worthwhile object avoidance like POOP) would be Roomba j7+ at $235 and deebot T10 or X10 Plus at $240, dreame L10s Ultra at $320. Id like fo see these four tested out. I believe the X10 plus is the oldest model Prices were dound on ebay refurbished with 2 year warranties. May go down even further on Black Friday Although if you have a mostly hard flooring, the Dreame w10 at $200 looks to be a damn good deal.
Suggestion for future budget roundups: include whatever you think is the absolute best in the comparisons, to show how close or far budget units are from the absolute peak of performance.
I more or less did that. These budget options generally do just as well as flagships when it comes to vacuuming performance, but flagships have self cleaning mops, higher quality mops, and camera based AI object detection and avoidance. I showed the S1 Pro's object avoidance which I think is the best on the market, and just omitted mopping since the style of mop on these budget vacuums is not worth using.
It seems like Roomba is coasting on its original fame still 😂 while others leaving it in the dust.. I had a Bissell a while back. It would ram into everything at full speed 😅. It was incredibly loud and could've damaged the furniture and baseboards. It’s surprising how such an obvious flaw was overlooked by the designers. The next day, I grabbed some double-sided tape and soft insulation foam, which fixed the issue, but the performance was still pretty bad.
Thank you! I miss how you'd make your reviews of these unique, by also covering how well they integrate with Home Assistant, and if they still work when blocked to the internet.
Not much to say unfortunately. All of them will lose significant functionality when blocked from the internet, but these are IoT devices without cameras or microphones so as long as they're on a guest or IoT specific network they pose basically zero privacy risk. If you want to put in the work to break them free from the internet there are multiple custom firmware projects out there. I was going to make a video about them last June but the creator of the project specifically told me not to and put "Do not make tutorial videos or attempt to make the project more approachable" in his licensing.
@@TheHookUp How well they integrate with Home Assistant and the functionality offered was also a nice touch. I'll look for the custom firmware projects.
Hi Rob, I’ve got an idea for a video! (Fellow followers, please like or comment if you agree.) Given how specialized you are in reviewing cameras and your expertise in sensor engineering and control, it would be awesome to see a video on the **best budget drones under $1500. I think it’d be really helpful to cover aspects like price, camera quality, GPS functions, battery life, obstacle avoidance, wind and weather resistance, object tracking, etc. With your deep knowledge, I’m sure you'd create an amazing review. Not sure how fun the spending part will be, but I’m sure you’ll enjoy the rest ! Cheers!
Are you going to do a "best vacuum at any price" review? The flagships are expensive, but they're just now getting to the point where I would consider them to replace a full size plug in shark vacuum. Under $400 is great but not good enough for me yet.
Which one can go under the lowest kitchen base? Our Roborock S7 just wont clean under the roughly 3 inch base on our IKEA kitchen. And that is a place where crumbs accumulate!
If you're looking for a more advanced (and expensive) vacuum, the Eufy S1 Pro has front mounted LIDAR and can also go under extremely small clearances: th-cam.com/video/31hueQqN7Wk/w-d-xo.html
That's not even close to this price range. L10S ultra is extremely good for the price though, I don't think the L10S Pro Ultra is worth the extra $300 over the L10S Ultra.
Always read the 1 star reviews and decide if they should really be bad reviews. I see people who couldn't get it to connect to their wifi, people who were mad that the vacuum ran over dog poop, and people who said the vacuum stopped working. The third is a valid concern, the others are not.
These will never work as well or come close as a $100 beater bar 1500 watt vacuum on carpet with a clean filter. Plus a plug in vacuum can do more things and lasts 20 years or more with a belt needed. In 5 years how much will a battery cost if the robot lasts that long?
The saying is "the best vacuum is the one you use". I'd say most American families in the 90s and 2000s had a beater bar vacuum in their closet that got used once a month at most. The difference between daily cleanings and monthly or even weekly is night and day.
@@TheHookUp Totally agree. We have a large and expensive plug in vacuum that barely gets used because it is such a hassle to get out, set up and spend the time to do a thorough job. Our Roborock does 75% of the job, but it runs while we're away at work and we come home to nice clean floors that would otherwise simply not get cleaned until it got bad enough that we couldn't tolerate it any more. Our robot is 5 years old and still going strong, but I'd be happy to replace the battery and keep it running as long as it continues to do the job.
My Dreametech has spent more time in (warrantied) repairs than vacuuming my house. I regret buying it and dealing with Dreametech. I also regret having to listen to my wife say "I told you so" re: robot vacuums.
That's certainly not great. Unfortunately I have to rely on my own experiences for these videos and I had a D10+ cleaning 5 days a week for 2 years with zero issues and a L10S Ultra cleaning and mopping 7 days a week for over a year, also with zero issues. I've also instructed friends and family to buy D10+ and L10S Ultra and aside from one friend who has had issues getting logged out of the iOS app all of them have been extremely happy with it.

The cheapest models with camera (aka worthwhile object avoidance like POOP) would be Roomba j7+ at $235 and deebot T10 or X10 Plus at $240, dreame L10s Ultra at $320. Id like fo see these four tested out. I believe the X10 plus is the oldest model
Prices were dound on ebay refurbished with 2 year warranties. May go down even further on Black Friday
Although if you have a mostly hard flooring, the Dreame w10 at $200 looks to be a damn good deal.
I have reviews on all of those vacuums. Where are you getting those prices? J7+ is $599, L10S Ultra is $479.
eBay certified refurbished WITH a 2 year painless warranty. @@TheHookUp
eBay. Deebot N10 Max+ is really great value proposition too. dToF and lidar under $200. @@TheHookUp
Amazing review. Thank you so much.
Thank you for posting this!!!
I just got the eureka. Midea makes it
Will you have a review on deebot x5 omni pro ?
Dreame and Roborock both have phenomenal home assistant integrations.
Hi Rob,
I’ve got an idea for a video! (Fellow followers, please like or comment if you agree.)
Given how specialized you are in reviewing cameras and your expertise in sensor engineering and control, it would be awesome to see a video on the **best budget drones under $1500.
Cheers!
so if we need anything with great object avoidance. we're going to need to spend at least $800?
Dreametech L10S is the least expensive vacuum with decent object avoidance, usually around $500-600: amzn.to/4e3llTb
Are you going to do a "best vacuum at any price" review? The flagships are expensive, but they're just now getting to the point where I would consider them to replace a full size plug in shark vacuum. Under $400 is great but not good enough for me yet.
I think the Eufy S1 Pro is currently the best robotic vacuum on the market: th-cam.com/video/31hueQqN7Wk/w-d-xo.html
Looks like the S1 Pro is the best mop, but none of the vacuums are that great compared to last year's Roborock S7.
@@TheHookUp You should do a robot mower review!
Please upload Dangbei atom review eagerly waiting.
wow, that was impressively comprehensive
Thanks!
THANK YOU! 🙌
How do they connect to Home Assistant, if they do?
Dreame and roborock have the best home assistant integrations.
@@TheHookUphow would home assistant be used with roborock? 🤔
Díky!
Great video!
Which one can go under the lowest kitchen base? Our Roborock S7 just wont clean under the roughly 3 inch base on our IKEA kitchen. And that is a place where crumbs accumulate!
Roomba. Since it doesn't have top mounted LIDAR and has almost no other sensors it will even go under my couch which is less than 3" clearance.
If you're looking for a more advanced (and expensive) vacuum, the Eufy S1 Pro has front mounted LIDAR and can also go under extremely small clearances: th-cam.com/video/31hueQqN7Wk/w-d-xo.html
@@TheHookUp The Roomba feels like a step down in all other aspects from the current S7 so Eufy S1 Pro feels more tempting. Thanks for your advice!
Thanks Rob.
What about Dreame L10s Pro Ultra?
That's not even close to this price range. L10S ultra is extremely good for the price though, I don't think the L10S Pro Ultra is worth the extra $300 over the L10S Ultra.
Also, thanks for the heads up on the links, those were a mess.
Can you add some European affiliate links pliz 🙏
I think the US link should now work internationally, I signed up for "Amazon OneLink" recently.
Are you still planning that smart bulb roundup by end of this year? Your LED bulb videos rule.
I have it penciled in for October 25th

The Amazon reviews aren’t great for any of these, 4.2 or 4.3 so I don’t know 😅
Always read the 1 star reviews and decide if they should really be bad reviews. I see people who couldn't get it to connect to their wifi, people who were mad that the vacuum ran over dog poop, and people who said the vacuum stopped working. The third is a valid concern, the others are not.
Great review; Vacuum Wars (TH-cam Channel) does this intensive breakdown style.
I agree, Vacuum Wars does an excellent job.

They had the Eufy L60 as top pick
Q8 Max+ is selling for 400 for a couple of more days.
where did you get it?
Also wondering where you got it

The one the cats like the best................
These will never work as well or come close as a $100 beater bar 1500 watt vacuum on carpet with a clean filter. Plus a plug in vacuum can do more things and lasts 20 years or more with a belt needed. In 5 years how much will a battery cost if the robot lasts that long?
No one is saying they will replace them.
