The U.S. presidential election is just 45 days away, and for antiwar voters, the policy differences between the two leading candidates are vanishingly thin. As the Biden-Harris administration continues to supply billions of dollars in military aid to Israel, the Uncommitted National Movement, which for months has attempted to steer the Democratic Party toward a more critical stance on Israel, has announced it is not endorsing Kamala Harris. Neither does the organization recommend casting a third-party vote, citing the risk of splitting the two-party vote and ushering in a second term for Donald Trump. "We were not met in good faith with our policy demands," says the Uncommitted National Movement's co-founder Lexis Zeidan about its attempts to parley with the Harris campaign. Zeidan says the organization will continue to pressure Democrats from within and outside of the party. "What we're asking is not outrageous."

The number of innocent victims must never be weighed against each other, and yet one wonders where is the proportionality of 1,200 victims compared to over 40,000 victims since 7 October? Whichever way you look at it, the conclusion can only be that for those who point almost exclusively to the brutal killings by Hamas on 7 October, the lives of Israelis are worth more than those of Palestinians. This is a very dangerous attitude that sets an outrageous example to the world. Imagine if more than 40,000 people were killed in a city like New York, London or Berlin. The West, and the US in particular, would immediately intervene, put an end to the mass murder and bring those responsible to justice.
I am not sure you can call the 1200 innocent victums...check into the facts. and who has a music fest next to the largest outdoor genocide camp...Innocent, come on...listen to the interviews from those living in Israel. One can not take and select the facts of choice, but must look into the entire picture, the entire history.
We are not blind or deaf to USA lies.
Let's not forget that this conflict did not start on October 7. It's been 75 years of ILLEGAL occupation, dispossession, killings, oppression, and censorship of Palestinians by Israel with full complicity and support of the good ol' USA. The vast majority of countries in the world support a real two-state solution. Just like with the apartheid in South Afrida, the US as a country is on the wrong side of history.

Because they believe in this flawed strategy that they can pressure the Democrats. I'm Muslim and I'm fed up with the "uncommitted" movement. Voting Stein or third party is NOT for Trump. It's a loud and clear message to Democrats that they don't deserve our votes. She talks about the broken system, but doesn't apparently believe in the long term strategy of investing in third party movements.
The first thing she says is that a third party candidate for president is not viable base on our electoral system. The second is that they want the Harris campaign to change its policy of blinders-on for what Israel is doing. The third is that Trump is a threat to Palestinian Americans and those who believe in democracy, the Bill of Rights and peaceful protest. So it may come down to a Hillary 2016 or Trump 2020 situation where voters of the respective parties left their presidential candidate's box empty. But there is still time for Harris to change.
This is the exact point. Yet, if you listen to those that in 2020 opposed Yang & Williamson and now will claim opposition to a 3rd party. They think "uncommitted " is viable and voting for the green party is a waste of their vote. If one can't see this is playing into getting the other war supporter elected, we all need reducation and stronger glasses. If you claim anti-war, stop the killing now or for future populations, the decision is about courage and different action. ✌️

Why won’t they move towards Dr. Stein?
Because they're actually blue no matter who Democrats pretending to care. They are putting up a front to try and change Harris' mind (they won't) but in reality they're going to fall in line and vote for her. If you actually care about the outcome (which is the whole point), then 3rd parties are not viable for a national election, not in the system as it is currently. Even when they win the majority of the vote, the Dems still often don't win the presidency, or control of either the House/Senate, or even control of state house/senate. A 3rd party might have a chance in a local/state election, if the state isn't gerrymandered that is. Elections are a game, and we play by the rules as they currently are, or we are not doing what we can to prevent what we see as the worst outcome. That is the choice before us.

I was surprised to hear that Jill Stein is doing better than Kamala Harris with Palestinian Americans, but I guess it makes sense.
Still, probably the best play is not to endorse anyone, in the hopes that Harris will change her position before election day. They should probably call on their supporters not to early vote (unless they're out of town on election day) but wait for election day to make their decision on voting for president.

The Uncommitted Movement is trying to walk a very fine line, and they’re doing it well with so much integrity and grace. Harris is a fool for the way she’s handling this whole subject. But I really appreciate their realism and pragmatism to try to create the best outcome possible. I so deeply respect and admire the Uncommitted Movement’s spokespeople. I’m proud to have voted uncommitted in the Primary.
The best thing we can all do now is to keep calling our representatives to make sure they understand how important this issue is and that we cannot continue to break our own laws, let alone International Laws and norms, to be complicit in genocide by funding all of it. We must stop sending weapons until Israel at least stops attacking Palestinians, and now Lebanon.
