Iron Maiden would be perfect to get your blood pumping for those two amazing games. ninja Gaiden two is also an incredible game and that's the one I had as a kid. Thank you for wacthing and commenting!
I owned and beat all 3 Ninja Gaidens on the NES. Infinitely respawning edge of screen enemies should be illegal. There was much rage induced screaming and controller throwing.
This game is tough plain and simple. The golden rule is don't stop moving forward. Ninja Gaiden 3 is on my list to dive into. Thank you for watching and commenting!
According to someone who worked on the game, it was a glitch that Ryu gets sent back to 6-1 when dying at the final boss, but the sadistic bastards decided to leave it in :p Also, silly advice from Nintendo Power to use the Jump & Slash against the final boss when the game takes it away after each of the 3 bosses. At least each boss stays dead even after sending you back to 6-1.
Great video and breakdown. That was quite entertaining. I’ve had the same copy of this game since I was 9 years old. Not many things at all have stayed with me as long as this game. I can’t get rid of it. I still go back and play it on occasions when I need a fix for a lightning fast, responsive game that demands accuracy that the “Souls” games can’t give me.
That's amazing that you still have it and love it just as much. It's a game that is perfect in my opinion, and as I've said before I never had the first one, my friend did. I had the second and still love it, but the first is still the best. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!
Excellent video Jay. One of my favorite games on the NES. Many trips to the video store renting this game. To be honest, I did not know there was an arcade version of Ninja Gaiden back in the day. I'd probably spend my Saturdays at the arcades trying to beat this game. Will there be another "The history of..."?? If so, can't wait to check it out. Cheers!!
Hello my friend! Yes there will be more history of videos. This is the third I've done. The others can be found under the Video Games tab on my channel. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Great video on the history of Ninja Gaiden > You give alot information on the controls as well as different upgrades that you get during this great NES video game. You do very good video history's.Do you do the audio separate from the video portion of your video?
Ah this makes me happy. A well done documentary on my favourite game ever. I also learned a thing or 2 about some of the history and that was cool to see. Now I got the itch to play this game again, and we will beat 3 together before the end of the year right buddy? Just follow in my footsteps lol
Right, but I put all martial arts together in one category. They were huge in the 80's and Ninja's were a big part of that. Appreiciate the view and comments!
Ninja Gaiden 1 & 2 were some of my favorites on NES. Use to play Iron Maiden in the background when I played them. Good times.

I dunno, it's a predictable quirk applied across the board, so it's pretty fair.
Great video Jay. Awesome Game. This and Double Dragon 2 were always super fun on the NES
Thanks Mr. Vegas! And yes, Double Dragon 2 was awesome on the NES! Loved it
Great editing skills. This game was a huge part of my childhood and thank you for taking me on the wondrous journey down memory lane.
Oh mate thank you for saying that! Very kind of you, and my pleasure

Yes I remember reading that. It just makes the game that much more brutal! Thank you for watching!
Alfred Hitchcock was from the future. His movie, The Birds, was an homage to the Ninja Gaiden birds.
LOL I love it. All true. Those dang BIRDS!!!!!!!
I always wondered why the arcade and NES versions were so different. Another video for posterity. Thanks Jay 🍻
Thank you Skyfall for watching and supporting brother. Much love to you
Excellent video, Jay! Great to see the backstory too as it seems like Ninja Gaiden had some deeper storytelling behind the gameplay.
Thanks Ken! It's interesting to see how and why the NES game turned out like it did. Thanks for watching mate!
Take a bow Jay…this video was truly excellent! One of your very best!! Cheers brother! 🤗🍻🤘🔥
Awe thanks so much Packers. That means alot dude :)
That pixel art style though on the cutscenes.. .Never gets old
It's so good! And the story is so well told. Thank you for watching and commenting!

Loved it! Amazing video again, keep em coming!
Thank you brother! Will do!
Nice video highlighting the era and game! I really liked how you did an in depth breakdown of the stage names!! Good stuff! :)
Thanks so much mate! I'll give you a sub and check out your content as well
Awesome retrospect Jay! Glad you touched on the game's sountrack, it's always been one of the better action game collection of tracks!
Ya I don't hear alot of people say Ninja Gaiden when talking about iconic sountracks, but I'm with you it's up there!
Hi, Jay. Thank you for another wonderful stream, my friend!

I still have yet to beat this game. Made it to Jacquio, but just can’t beat him.
Great video Jay
Thank you so much!

Yes I do
The Great White Ninja, Chris Farley (Beverly Hills Ninja), is the GREATEST ninja ever.
I mean I'm all about Sho Kosugi, but you do you!
You make the game look easy to play Jay
Ah thanks buddy

100% Gotta get through 2 again first, but three is on the list. Thanks for watching and commenting mate
Jay,hope you can do Ninja Gaiden 2 & 3 as well.
Thanks for the input Oliver!
Nintendo games teach patience and resilience.
100% agreed! I think that's also one reason the Souls games are so popular. They don't hold your had either. Thanks for watching!
Gaiden II, then 1, then, WAY down the list is III. YUK.
I'm there with you. Didn't spend alot of time with 3, but I'm going to revisit it soon
Yeah, Double Dragon didn't really have ANYTHING to do with ninjas, my guy...lol
Right, but I put all martial arts together in one category. They were huge in the 80's and Ninja's were a big part of that. Appreiciate the view and comments!
