IT Repeated his Words from the Woods | Strange Encounter in MISSOURI

- Hi Guys -
Tonight we have a story from one of our viewers named Jerrod from the Ozark Mountains of Missouri. There in 1991 he and his family had purchased 20 acres of land near the Mark Twain National Forest. Over time, they had many encounters and experiences with something strange that was living on the land. Until one day it approached their trailer and mimicked Jerrod's exact words in a deep raspy voice! Very Creepy!!

Growing up ( in my preteens years) I would go mushroom and berry picking by myself. Loved getting into the forest areas not touched by humans ( you recognize those right away). Now, few decades older you wouldn't pay me to go all by myself 😊
They watch over me when I’m out there.
Because we know things now that our ignorant young selves didn't!
I've heard this many times, them imitating the home owners voice, calling their animals out into the woods and ppl. It's very creepy and scary.
I live north of the Missouri line on the Mississippi River Pool 18. They traverse the bluffs all the way along the Mississippi River down south of me. Duck hunters and goose hunters around here have all kinds of creepy stuff going on. Thanks Chris for another story, stay safe brother.
Wow so you have proof of them traversing the bluffs all the way along the Mississippi river? You're gonna be famous soon.
@@woodspirit98why are you here... just to be a dick, you are no wood spirit for sure. Are you spiritually dead or are you just to scared to acknowledge there are things that you don't understand.

No matter how scared I would be, I wouldn’t ever leave my dog.
NEITHER would I, NEVER!! 😍😚😙🐕🐾
Not ever. Not for anything ❤

@@Velshard that’s ok, at least my dog didn’t go alone!
My dog is named Gypsy Rose. Ever time you say Gypsy, in a tone that is clearly reserved for a dog, she is looking for you and trying to figure out who/where you are.
It's hilarious
Oh she sounds sweet and precious! Please give her lots of LOVE for me, thank you! ❤ 😍😚😙🐕🐾
Awwwww, cute doggie.💖
Creep factor times 10!!! The mimicking would've freaked us out. 😳 We love it when folks agree to be on your show. Thanks again, Chris! Take care & God Bless!
One thing that really bothered me about this story is that they didn't bring their faithful dog into the trailer! Being a sensitive woman and a dog lover I was very upset that Gypsy had to stay outside all alone and be terrorized by that thing in the woods! Poor dog! 😳😟😮😢😢😢🦮🦮🦮🐕🦺🐕🦺🐕🦺
@@dizzylizzy6571I understand. One point of the story he said that Gypsy was brought into the house. The next time she would not listen. I was thinking I would have a collar on and leash in hand.
@@dizzylizzy6571 That's what I said too! Gypsy should have been in the house! ! 😍😚😙🐕🐾
@@purrrfect6032 EXACTLY!
That mimicking is quite popular and normal in these stories. Mostly it's owls, birds and humans more sparingly. Once on Sasquatch Chronicles I heard a guy calling his dog peanut at night but one night he heard deeeeep voice ,here peanut. Most everyone freeks because they know it's not a human type frequencies but muuuch lower db they call them. Like bass.
This story seemed more like real country folk that don't get too freaked out about what they encounter on their wild lands. The only sketchy part was when he was hurting and could start getting around. Then all the sudden he could sprint home. I guess adrenaline explains that. I love that they just respected the visitors right to be there as long as he respected their space.
I used to camp all the time way back in the swamps in an old graveyard from the 1800s in a jungle hammock with all my hunting gear that carried in, because it was the highest ground around. Most of the graves are just marked with rocks, which makes them pretty obvious because there are no rocks in the swamp, just oyster shells. But there was a small area where the people that I assumed were rich were buried that had carved headstones. There was some deliverance type locals that were the only people I would run into so far back into the swamps. But when they found out I camped in the graveyard I got their respect as none would go near it because they said it was haunted. When the nastiest one around tried that intimidation at gunpoint crap on three of us one after another each individually, he was backed done at gunpoint each time. That was not what he was used to from outsiders. Rumor had it he had killed before and even served time for murder. When I hiked out for supplies and stopped in for a drink at what I called the missing pieces bar because all the locals that frequented it were missing body parts (being a waterman is a dangerous occupation) I mentioned what happened with that guy and they were all amazed an outsider got the better of that nasty fellow. They knew exactly who he was from my description, and all said that they wouldn't mess with him. But like any bully he was on good behavior once he knew that he couldn't get away with it with us. We weren't going to be scared off so if he wanted to be there it would be on our terms.
Anyway I know what it is like to be living in very remote areas. I heard lots of weird stuff in that graveyard at night, but nothing ever truly interacted with me physically. I figured as long as they didn't bother me I wouldn't bother them. Come daylight there was never anything unusual. But while hunting near my camp I met a nice guy with clothes that didn't fit the time period. They looked to be from a very long time ago. But the poor hand down their clothes for generations if they stand the test of time well so I didn't think much of it. He apologized for interrupting my hunt and introduced himself by giving me his fill name. I was in a tree stand but got the impression he would have shaken my hand in respect at that point if I were on the ground with him. When I got back to camp there were fresh wildflowers on one of the few graves that had a carved marker just yards from the trees my jungle hammock was suspended between. The name on one of the markers of that family was the name he had given me. The flowers were on the grave of the wife of the name that he gave right next to the grave that bore his name, and it was her birthday according to the headstone inscription. When I met him the only thing that seemed odd was he had clothes that fit what people wore over 100 years ago and spoke slightly different English. But honestly all the local spoke different English (their own local dialect) so that didn't really seem odd. He was real nice and apologized for interrupting my hunt. We chatted for about 15 minutes. He seemed alive to me. But maybe he wasn't.
@treyt3764 damn amigo what a experience!! you don't got balls. you got Granite Boulders! sleeping in a graveyard as a campsite??

I'll go in a cemetery for a funeral thats it. old cemetery are very interesting. no way. period.
thanks for taking your time to share.

The graveyard was the highest ground around so it made the perfect campsite in the tidal swamps. I only saw one flood tide get so high that it put the graveyard underwater. But being in a jungle hammock I was still able to be suspended above the water. I had to use some ropes to rig up some makeshift suspended table like things to prepare food and eat off. It was a cold camp that trip. It was really interesting hunting when everything was underwater. It was a game changer.@@user-rd8re2lo9c

Pine needle tea is rich in vitamin c.
You boil the water, then add the pine needles and let it steep for a few minutes. Actually boiling the needles will kill many of the benefits. 😊
I always enjoy these videos, but there’s a small handful of stories that I found particularly haunting, and this will be one of those for me. It’s almost up there with the one where the girl and boy ride their bikes out into the outskirts of town so she can introduce him to her “cousin” 😐 and then they just chill with Bigfoot for a while and eat potato chips lol. CREEPY.
I remember that one too
Yep, that's definitely made the rounds!

Hello from the Missouri Ozarks!

If I came across what looked like a mass of burial spots or graves I would be ringing the police thinking there could be murder victims underneath. There could be missing people underneath those rock piles.
Thank you, Chris. I’ve heard audio of alleged Sasquatch calling out this married couple’s dogs names.. same cadence and very creepy
Wow Chris another great story. The creature he encountered didn't seem like it wanted to hurt him. Maybe it was just curious. He was right to go in when the creature came around the trailer and not mess with it . Anyway thanks again Chris.
@shb6867 I agree. since the thing was throwing leaves an dirt at the barking dog my impression is 'ole bigfoot was telling the dog to go away. I had to get after a bigfoot that attacked my dog that'd run into the woods alongside the road where I was jogging about 1am in morning under a full moon. damn dog came outa the brush lookin at me like "what'dja do that for dad? I almost had him"! damn dog.

WHAT ABOUT POOR GYPSY THE DOG? THAT IS HORRIBLE AND JUST PLAIN CRUEL TO LEAVE YOUR BEST FRIEND OUTSIDE TO FACE THAT CREATURE ALL ALONE! JUST TERRIBLE!
I agree with you dixxylizzy!
I'd never leave my fur babies in harms way.
Really? Like you're basically dealing with a monster, if you believe the story is real, that is. I can guarantee any person who claims they would fight bigfoot for their dog is lying. Almost all of us would probably shit our pants if we were ever confronted with a similar situation to these. Dogs are both smart and protective if they think they're protecting you they will put themselves in harms way, but they won't needlessly engage with something much larger than them that is a potential danger.
@@ragingmoderate6791 you would be wrong, I have a friend who put himself in harms way for his dog. Just as I would for mine. They are family. Maybe someday you'll be lucky enough to have this kind of relationship.
@van3363 Nope, no animal is worth my life. I've had dogs and loved them very much. They aren't family, though, and they aren't worth a human life. You might scare off a bear or some wolves for your dog or even stand up to another human. If you think you'd be Tough Man Tim when a 9 foot ape man that isn't supposed to exist pops out and tries to snatch your dog. All I can say is okay dude keep telling yourself that.
Great story, Chris! It would freak me out big time if that beast was repeating what I said. Time to get the heck out of there. 😲😯

Regarding the trees dying. I think that if someone dug a hole for a burial that it would damage the root system. This could be the reason for the tress dying
Good call!....
I know in Shenandoah National Forest, prior to its "purchase"/creation, there were many rural folks living in the mountains in their homes. You can still see the remains of some of those homes and associate structures in the forest. I wonder if Mark Twain also had a similar background, and at some point there were people living on those lands? Also, didn't indigenous tribes in some parts of the Americas build their homes on top of stone, and when the homes eventually deteriorate, only stone is left?
Good story!Glad the bigfoot did not kill the dog.Throw, ing leaves was OK but the voice matching was scarey! Thanks for the strory.
Yes, I was thinking about what if that Bigfoot killed and ate Gypsy? Then it would be the fault ofJarrod and his dad!!
I like it when he interviews the people on the phone after the story since that usually provides extra information about the situation that might not have been included in the actual story.

Hi Chris, very interesting and really scary story, perfectly told for us.
That weird, unnerving, mimicking behaviour has been shared by ‘experiencers’ before, so Jerrod’s scenario adds to this body of information.
Good to listen to Jerrod. It would be quite tempting to dig at the rock piles, but that would be a big step to take - could be very culturally inappropriate.
I had a blue healer (called Blue!🤣)
Super lovely dogs.
Thanks Chris - Kiwi Linda, from sunny New Zealand.
I have never heard about this mimicking before, that I can remember. I think I would have remembered that though, because THAT is creepy!

@@AnnaMendozaKCMO Hi , I’ve heard of the mimicking several times over the years. Not only as it pertains to BF. I’ve experienced what my friends and I finally assumed was demonic after having heard someone say our name thinking it was one of us , but turns out they were either sleeping or not around. Not to jump on the “demonic” bandwagon , but my understanding is that if you hear your name from a familiar voice but that person isn’t there ..? It’s likely from something not good. Also, BF are known to be uncanny mimickers , able to mimic a Jake-break from a logging truck. A chainsaw , etc. . Sounds crazy , I know , but I’ve heard people make these claims too many times to dismiss it .
For some reason the pile of rocks looks like it’s been there for a long time. Looks like something you wouldn’t risk desecrating. I’ve heard an account or two in which someone has claimed to have killed a BF (and really regretted doing so. In one account they witnessed the mother of a young one they shot deeply mourning her loss…) and it seems like I recall the body/bones not being there when they’d gone back to look for it. I mean to say that I get the idea that BF burials don’t often occur. Idk, some do some don’t ? The “grave” in this account sure looks … like a large grave and not just a marker or ? Right ?
@@woodspirit98More thinking along the lines of this possibly being an old Native American burial area, or maybe early European settlers.
Thank you Chris for giving us our scary story fix. Glad you're warm and toasty...and I'm not even a beer person. Ha.ha❤. Gonna listen to the story of Gerrat.
I will say, that placing rocks over a grave will deter scavengers, especially if you don't go deep.

They obviously really care deeply for that poor dog.🤔😏

in the country its very common to have a yard dog. if you don’t tie them up they are completely safe.

Well I mean they mimic forest animals so that makes sense...but still creepy and scary!
Thanks so much, Sir Chris! Really appreciate your efforts telling us these incredible encounters. 👍😃
Love this one! It’s great to hear the person actually tell some of their encounter. But these videos would not be the same without your narrative. And I’m learning a lot about the great variety of beers. Though not a beer drinker, I’d sure like to try them out. 😅
I used to own 6 acres a little ways south of West Plaines. I never had an encounter there, but I didn’t live there, just visited friends on the adjacent acreage. Great area. What a story and the part where his words are repeated would have sent me right out of there. Great story and your telling of it was scary. Thanks again for an amazing story experience and I'm glad you were warm and comfy in your base camp studio.
For me the creepiest part was the most fascinating part, because it once again sets this being apart from other creatures and indicates it a much higher intelligence. We mimic animals so why wouldn't they mimic us? Except they don't, with the exception of some parrots and maybe one or two others im not aware of. I think he was right that it had no idea what it was saying, but it shows it has acute hearing and a fast-working mind plus good memory. I also believe it knew when he had woken up in the forest, as they seem to be able to read and scan people's energies, so it probably would've sensed the change in him when he woke up, with the added fear level. But interestingly it still sat there for another hour waiting. Its vision must be much superior to ours in the darkness. They seem to be very curious about us and prefer it when we are quiet.
I prefer that they leave me alone!!!
They do have superior vision from what people have said, they have eyeshine which means they can see much more at night than we can
Great story Chris , thank you 😊👍
I am new to the channel.
You do some pretty cool stuff.
Another great story chris. Good stuff.
It would be interesting if those graves could be investigated. First story ive heard of a potential big foot bury ground. Although, odd if it was human graves.
Yes it would be interesting if those graves were investigated. Though I wouldn't say it'd be too odd if it just turned out to be a really old grave site. Maybe Native American. Missouri had many Native American tribes. Or it could be possible remnants of an ancient Mound Builder civilization. People had different customs throughout history and the world. And much of America's pre-Columbian past isnt as well recorded/documented and preserved.. In the UK there are similar stacked-rock grave sites as described in the video, like the Clava Cairns as an example. They date back thousands of years, though they are circular in formation rather than rectangular, and are on a larger scale.
Oh yeah good beer choice!
Chris Happy New Year 🎉i love your videos

Happy new year Chris i plan on doing a ton of hiking this year hope i don’t see a squatch out here in Tennessee
That vocalization is different. Sort of creepy. It makes me wonder what sort of communication it was really trying to accomplish. Somehow, it knew the dog wasn't a threat.
I wonder when he fell asleep in the forest if the creature was concerned for him. Maybe it knew he was in pain, but not why.
My opinion keeps evolving with the more stories I hear. I believe they exist but, the behavior they exhibit keeps pushing them away from the animal kingdom and more towards something else. I dunno. All these stories, these experiences people are having, seem to be building up to a great revealing.
I believe in Bigfoot!
Good stories, zero proof.
Thanks for the story Chris. The mimicry was creepy af. I’m thinking it was good that the graves were not disturbed because that would have opened up a whole different story.
Thanks chris, I like the ones where they Are Friendly
I'd suggest the rock piles were just that, piles. When farming in rocky soils people pile up the rocks they plow up. They pile them out of the tilled space so they don't have such rocky soil. You see this in the Appalachian mountains and surrounding uplands from Maine to Alabama.
Thank you Chris and Jerrod, that was really creepy!
