Chris here - tonight we have an absolutely Creepy and Frightening story about a solo Elk Hunter in the mountains of Colorado! I talked with One of our viewers...Dennis is an avid outdoorsman and experienced hunter. Dennis goes out on a solo elk hunt in October of 2014 and has an experience there that effects his life even today!! His encounter gave him Nightmares...for years!!

People who don’t believe Sasquatches are out there are sheltered. I was a skeptic about it because I didn’t realize so many people were claiming to see it. I feel like if most people realized exactly HOW MANY people were seeing these things they’d be a lot less skeptical
The last grizzly bear in Colorado was not shot, it was stabbed with an arrow by a man named Ed Wiseman, who had been attacked viciously by the grizzly. By some miracle he was able to hit the bear in its jugular vein with the arrow and saved his life. It's an amazing story of survival and the repercussions after that he had to endure. He was horribly wounded and took many months to recover. Then, he was put through grief by the government for killing the bear. I used to work with Ed in Salida, Colorado, at a construction company just before this happened. Ed was a big tough guy and anyone else probably wouldn't have survived. It's sad that he had to kill the last griz to save himself.

If so I used to hunt there and was always alone.
I did run into them there in 2016 while scouting in August for archery a few weeks later.

Chris. I sadly have not gotten over my anxiety issues even though being finally retired with no financial worries. I wish I was as active as you as at one time I actually was, but I just can't find the motivation anymore and put on weight and am basically depressed. NOT to make that the focus of this post. I want to let you know I look forward to your posts each week and lose myself in the stories. THANK YOU for doing this for me and everyone else. You may or may not know how much your'e appreciated, but I for one want to let you know you are. Another great one brother.

Hearing this guy tell the story in his own words really adds to your own great storytelling. I’ve seen a lot of people interviewed about their strange experiences and you can usually get a feel for the ones who are genuine - this guy was totally credible.
Greetings from Laos. But originally I'm from Seattle. Washington state is Sasquatch country. I love these stories Here in Asia especially in the Himalayas, they have the Yeti. It's Sasquatch cousin.
This poor guy is suffering from PTSD. It would be hard to lay that down at the feet of a typical therapist, you’d almost need a group therapy for others that have legitimately had incidents like this. His fear sounds like what an animal feels like when knowing it’s being hunted. Now I understand how jittery a wild animal can be around a human even though you mean it no harm. It has to retain that feeling so it can protect itself. Now he has that same feeling.
Always a pleasure to listen to you, Chris!--I had my own experience in PA as a kid in a tent camping with my cousin's in the Chestnut Ridge area, now famous for Big Foot sightings / A BF reached into our tent at dawn & tried to grab one of us, namely me! / Weeks later an elderly couple walking their dog had their dog chased away by what they described as a large hairy ape-like animal / Police were called out on what they probably thought was a joke until they found footprints 👣...An anthropologists from a local college was called in and made a cast, which he held up on a local news broadcast, which my parents and I were watching at the time. My mother's draw dropped and my father just looked over at me and said: "you boys are never to go camping in those woods again!"
Thankful you were not grabbed and taken by these horrible creatures. What a frightening experience for a child and it would have caused catastrophic distress for your parents.
I've been camping in that area many times, and the Allegheny National Forest, Ohio Pyle area, Adirondacks, Finger Lakes, through the West Virginia mountain chain, never had a problem, other than..One time in the Allegheny National Forest, me and my wife were camping several miles into the Forest..We had two Maine coon cats and a Rottweiler with us..They made a lethal pack on there own, the Rotty would chase bears and the giant Maine coon cats could catch just about anything, turkeys, Raccoons, etc.,So we were sleeping in the tent with the animals, and woke up to our rotty crying and crawling under our blankets, as the two cats started hissing, as we heard foot falls around the tent..Next thing we know the cats broke into a fight among themselves, the dog let his bladder go, it was complete chaos..I jumped up and opened the tent, but saw nothing with my flash light..But I was completely spooked, like I never have been in my life, and could't really explain it..I was up half the night and could hear foot steps in the forest..Don't know what it was, maybe just a bear, as many are in the area, but our animals behavior was completely different to the dozens of times we had been hiking and camping with them..They were usually/always predatory, not scared to death...

The Bigfoot was hungry and they do take children and eat them. Thank goodness it didn't grab any of you.

Very real and so scary for this guy. He obviously had PTSD for years afterwards, understandably. You could hear in the phone conversation that this guy was not joking. A very experienced woodsman who knew the sounds of the various wildlife. Another Sunday evening complete with a hair-raising Chris story.
The level of fear generated by these encounters seems to be a hallmark of these experiences. It's not normal for these seasoned, hardened guys to be so struck with fear, and to be so profoundly affected for years afterward. Another great story, Chris. Looking forward to your next video.
It's absolutely normal for them to be that afraid especially since man thinks they are alone in this world when that's simply not true.
"Fear" and "story" is a common theme in these comments, its pathetic you take these videos as fact, people are feeble and imaginitive, Chris is a good storyteller for sure, not one ounce of evidence

As soon as i saw the title i felt extremely anxious. 2016 i was hunting Elk alone North of Durango Colorado, where i live. It's too involved to describe here. I can say, in a lifetime in the Rocky Mountains, nothing could have prepared me for that level of fear. That event changed my view of wild areas forever. I still go out. It just cant be as enjoyable as it was for decades. Great Channel you have here !
What happened ?
So sorry to hear that Dennis, I was solo camping May 1st last year and was terrorized by something imitating barred owls and what sounded like demonic chimpanzees.
I too have camped solo lots, but haven't been solo since.
I honestly never gave these things a second thought, but now I don't go into the woods at all without it always being in the back of my mind.
I wanted to start a channel of camping, bushcrafting and hiking adventures, but I don't know anymore.
Thanks for sharing your story and maybe we'll be able to work through the traumatizing effects of our experiences and make it back to what was a true passion.

This is so bizarre! A few days ago I was visiting my mom in the San Juan islands, WA state. In the middle of the night we were awakened by the sound of a cacophony of fake sounding barred owls, along with what sounded like kids yelling on a play ground. She lives in the forest and this was around 3:00 a.m. Sounds so similar to your experience!

I love these stories, especially the ones from my native state of Colorado. In 1979, I worked for the Dept. of Interior. Two game wardens told me, {because I asked them} if there were grizzly bears in Colorado, because my Dad saw one. They looked around, as we were in an office, and put up 4 fingers in the air, then put their finger to their mouth as to tell me not to say anything. Much is kept from us. I have found bigfoot tracks, and have heard them. Thank you Chris. From western Colorado , take care.

As for the girz yep they are there down in the south San jauns and for sure DNR wont talk about it.
I lived in teller county next to the fossil beds but no sign of anything right there.
I live in Delta County and have seen a wolf while bow hunting on the grand Mesa. They have started introducing wolves to Colorado but I seen seen it back in 2013 and had 2 of my younger brothers with me who also saw it.
@@devingrant8847 I live in Delta county also. I have seen a wolf in 1979 at owl creek in the San Juans, and then another one by the old Grand Mesa road in 2008. I have also seen bigfoot signs, and heard them on Grand Mesa, I am a native here. People that are not from here call Grand Mesa, the Grand Mesa, but it is just Grand Mesa.

I feel for Dennis. Hopefully, he will realize that if they meant him harm, he wouldn't be here. @@Gizziiusa The attitude & disrespect was unnecessary. No one is an expert on these creatures. Have u not heard of Missing 411 & all of the missing ARMED hunters? To presume u can get the jump on 2 potentially 600-800 lb & extremely intelligent creatures who are scheming on u, while you're stuck inside a little tent & can't even see where they are isn't rational. Thankfully it appears most ppl aren't harmed & it seems they're just trying to make humans leave the area, so I don't want anyone to fear the woods with this info. Just don't be presumptuous.

@@MichaelCherau-kt8gy No, I don't believe for one second they are afraid of us... stalking in pitch black darkness, throwing huge rocks, roaming in the wilderness freely at night including in trees... also known to shapeshift. They are territorial, highly intelligent, physically beyond our capabilities, and they simply want us to leave those isolated areas.

@@toomanydonuts I think you're correct on the 'more than we know', as there's a bit of ESP that runs in my family, that has warned me to be more cautious at times. I adapted a trick from my militay jungle survival training: I set up trip wires around my camping sites. Up wind, down wind, and one in whatever direction my is pointing. Plus, I keept a 357 Mag on my person when asleep. Good story!

You could say that, now, he knows what it’s like to be hunted. Pretty scary stuff and luckily for him their motive wasn’t to harm him but to let him know they didn’t want him there. Glad he’s recovering❣️

Get out, get the fire roaring and stay on watch where you can actually SEE and defend yourself vs just waiting for the tent to collapse around you as you are killed by something you can't even see . 😂
I sleep with a 10MM in my sleeping bag with me. It has a 1350 lumen (55k candela) Modlite pistol light, and an enclosed emitter AimPoint ACRO red dot.
When that light goes on, night turns to day, and the red dot is just fast as hell for quick target acquisition.
Sometimes I have a 12G or a 45-70 as well it just depends. If it's hunting camp I have a big bore rifle of some kind, but when backpacking it's pistol only to due to weight constraints.
I also bring my Red Heeler. He knows what's up, nothings getting close without him at least realizing and warning me.
I feel for this man. I hope one day he will be able to find peace in the woods again. Thank you for sharing your story.

I’ve had a few stalkers when running, including the scariest in Orlando. The last one in my town made me hole up for a while not wanting to go out beyond taking my kids to school. I had to fight myself to get back out there. Part of doing it was getting a protective dog to run with. Then he was attacked by bigger dogs we ran into and the process of switching to his protector is what brought me back to myself. For what it’s worth. 🤟🏼☺️
My husband and I are both elk hunters and my heart goes out to this gentleman. I hope and pray he gets back out there with others to be able to do what he loves.

First time I’ve heard a witness talk about feeling the vibrations of the Sasquatch’s warning sounds….we’ve all experienced the feelings of the speakers from another car, or a sound so deep it’s felt….that would be terrifying to experience in the forests of North America because our forests are so dense and wild….truly alone out there 😳.
First Nations lived here long before Europeans, and they knew about them centuries ago!

He believes he had an encounter with a Big Fooit stalking him one night when he was leaving the woods after dark. His story is no where near as intense as this one was. We love your stories. It’s very interesting that you would mention telepathy, I’ve been in the woods and have picked stuff up telepathically, I’ve done that randomly with people as well. We have very little understanding about the world we live in.

Brings back memories of having creepy experiences myself yet drawn to The outdoors. When someone decides to change their lifestyle, it changes the person. It takes a dramatic event to alter ones life. A very sincere story. Thank you for hunting these or us.
Chris, The hair was standing on the back of my neck! I also have heard this exact Whooping while out deer hunting in the Gilla National Forest in western New Mexico. Frightening.

I had a similar experience happen to me in eastern Utah in the Fall of 2021. I heard a very loud thud to my left, like a 1000 lb rock had fallen out of a tree. Then as I kept walking I heard 2 loud tree knocks ahead of me. I answered back with a owl hoot and some rock clacking. Then this loud bipedal walking came towards me until the edge of the tree line. Then I could see glimpses of this large, dark, tall body walking inside the tree line for 200 ft or so, like he was checking me out. Then I realized what it was and went after it, but couldn't find it. I have gone back to this area a few times and heard tree knocks and left treats on their tree structures, but only found some elk and deer kills. Last year when I returned to my truck after looking for them, I found a dead chipmunk next to my door that was still warm

Yeh, I’ve been there, twice! I’ve been unable to return to my favorite camp spot for years! I think civilization is so crushing to their way of life! My Buddy and I knew instantly that we needed to pack up and get the hell out! It was super natural, it was not something you could deny!
I commented one one of your videos before, but I'll state my own possible bigfoot story again.
This was in October of '21, camping out of my car on a forest service road in the Pisgah National Forest in the Appalachians, just me and my dog. It's getting around 8:30-9pm, and I decide to get into bed, so my dog and I get into my car and start relaxing.
After a few minutes, suddenly everything went dead silent, no bugs, no frogs, nothing at all, pure silence.
Then, after a few seconds, I hear something walking down the road, i don't know what it was, but I can tell you two things. One, it was large, very large, secondly ..it was bipedal...
The amount of anxiety and panic I felt was unbelievable, and I enjoy solo camping, and I do take the necessary tools to defend myself just in case.
But now ever since then, I always feel a little uneasy solo camping, and I will not camp in that area! I even feel uneasy driving through it.
I've also never seen the forest go dead silent for anything before then, not coyotes, not bear, not mountain lions.

Hey Chris hi, I usually watch your camping stories on Sundays in the evening when everything is winding down and during week nights after work when I can, it's great to settle down and relax and listen to your stories. Very calming for me but all very interesting stories especially the Sasquatch stories and some pretty scary ones at that. Keep the great stories coming.

You always tell such great stories, makes Sunday nights so enjoyable. This guy definitely seems legit, doesn't come off as a person that makes things up, at least to me. I would have been terrified for sure, especially in such an isolated location 😱🏔🏕
Wow that was intense! I bought all of my camp supplies to solo camp in Colorado. I was going to create a base camp and do short hikes from that location. I’m now re-evaluating solo camping/hiking in remote areas.

Do it you will fall in love with the woods there.

Good story Chris. Really enjoyed hearing the phone call with Dennis. Was able to get a real sense of the fear that he has now. When I was younger I used to do a lot of wilderness backpacking on my own. I never really worried. Had a couple encounters with bears. But as I got older I don't know if you could rack it up to wisdom,age, or caution I stopped doing solo trips and always found a buddy to go with. As I've aged I know now that really don't want to go by myself if anything happens I'm S.O.L. I've never had an encounter like the one Dennis described nor would I ever want to have one. Where I would go we're not driving areas. They were hike in and Hike out and it was usually rough and rugged terrain.

This story of this guy’s experience has me almost a believer, as I have always been agnostic when it comes to Bigfoot and other cryptids.
I will say we're not the apex predator. Although the newspapers in the government hid it there were four men killed in Yosemite by being ripped apart. Four young strong men. Correction there were three young strong men the fourth one got away although he was severely wounded. They asking what happened and he said we were attacked my what look like a wolf walking on two legs. He said the top part look human had a Molly hairy chest and human arms human fingers except each finger head disemboweling claws on the end of them. He told the park rangers that his buddy threw a rock at the animal which is what made it enraged. Well the other Park rangers were doing an investigation and a clean up the Green Beret was off in the woods they had their own command center and the park ranger said it look like to them they were hunting something.

P.s. my husband and I saw some tracks in the San Isabel forest, large single file tracks in the snow with a large stride, two of them side by side coming out from under some trees. The snow was fresh, from that morning. It's an active area.
I seen a short online where this cougar is chasing this monkey up a tree and the monkey is bouncing off every branch he can get to. The monkey ends up at the top left of the tree and then jumped across the top to the right. That cat followed the same path and when it got to the top left and was facing outward, he took this incredible jump up and inward doing a complete back flip to towards the other side of the tree to the right landed on the branch the monkey was on and it was game over for that little guy. Wild life is smarter more aware and able to out smart a human in my opinion. All we can do is fire ammo at it and hope we take it down before it takes us. Just another fascinating story Chris, so glad I found your channel.

I only witnessed footprints in Temecula. I cannot forget that. I saw in person rattlesnakes, mountain lion, jaguarundi. An encounter with sasquatch cannot be easily forgotten. You witnessed a miracle, my friend.

We live in the springs and go into pikes and San Isabel Forest a lot. Just did my first camping trip of the year this last weekend out there. Saw whitetail deer walking thru camp at midnight so felt really safe, but I get that Erie feeling now and then when I'm up there like being watched or that there's something out there nearby that I don't wanna see!

I really do regret it, but for me it`s time to leave the channel. I was one of the very first subscribers & loved all the stuff you have been doing over the years. But the problem is: I love outdoor videos, hiking, exploring the wilderness. All the things you have been doing until last year. I also loved the educational part. But none of all this is left over. The stories....that`s a complete different thing, I am not interested in this at all. I totally understand that you obviously get more viewers with the stories. And on top of that, it`s less work than making videos outside in the wilderness.
But I want to say thank you for the great videos in the past, that gave me & many others such a great time. As I already mentioned once before, I am living just a few miles away from the ukranian war. The beauty of the world you are living in gave me always hope & inspiration.

Thanks so much for telling us Dennis' encounter, Chris (and part of the phone conversation). My bet is that his nightmares of having the huge hand come down on him while he was in his tent may have actually happened. He may have been in an REM sleep when it happened, and his nightmares are bringing it back.

Thank you for sharing another story with us Chris! This story sure was interesting. A guy who was quite experienced with the outdoors that came to great fear. Though it's scary, I would love to see one of these as I've always said. Someone has to get a closeup!!! Has it ever been known if these creatures are half man, half human? Another thought I had is people who has encountered them, didn't get harmed. They must be harmless. Boy, would I like to see one!!! But only with a group of people. Lol . I'm not that brave!!! Or you simply never find a trace of the people they harm. Lots of experienced outdoorsmen disappear every year in the wilderness. Most they never find a trace of.

I had a night of terror similar. I had a 45 auto but as soon as I saw the outline through my tent I knew I didn’t have the firepower. The amount of fear during my and other people’s encounters is the common denominator in true story’s.
I just loved it this time. Especially at the end we got to hear the real guy talking about his adventure. It sounds like it scared him into ptsd.
Love you going to these different places and telling these great stories and the beer .

There seems to be a pattern to the way these Big foot encounters go. It is obvious from descriptions of sightings of them, that they are large enough, and muscular enough to do serious damage to any human. Yet they choose to scare people away, rather than physically attack them. Of all the descriptions I've heard of them throwing stones, not one reports being hit by them, they seem to be more interested in making you leave their territory, not actually harming you.
Best report and telling experience yet... I know panic attacks and if it induced that in him it was a threat beyond description.

That's ultrasonic sound... From another story involving the US Marines in California that was in a support role with the DEA on a raid on a marijuana farm in the hills. They said the dealers usually protect their crops with electrified wire fence and traps, and a bigfoot was caught, or maybe injured. When they pulled up, and this was at night, they saw a huge animal trying to free the smaller sized on, with another smaller two peeping from behind the tree's further in. I think you know the last thing you want to do to Marines, is freak them out, and that is exactly what happened when Mr. Bigfoot let out a loud roar towards them. They all opened fire, 50 cal and all, and they did not hit bigfoot once. It was the driver who pulled his 45 and shot at the feet as bigfoot was running up towards them, while the other Marines were running for cover and reloading. Bigfoot fell and the 50 opened up on him and that was that. So apparently both mother and father bigfoot died that night. The Marines had their uniforms taken away and they had to be admitted to the hospital for ultrasonic sound damage to their organs. They were given pills and what not. This is what I remember from so long ago. I just found it interesting that ultrasonic sound could damage you and from bigfoot at that. Just goes to show, there's more to this than we know, and those Rumbler Sirens the Police use.....someone's paying attention!

@@basecampchris look up AYR australian yowie research same as squatch. We also have a second "type" Jungaree ?? smaller, very different..seems rarer.
I feel so bad for all the people that have been so severely impacted by these horrible creatures. It's like you can't go hiking or camping unless you have a grenade launcher with you.

Well, I would say if these things exist, then they had the opportunity to do harm to this guy, and do far more than scare him..Meaning that their goal was to scare him off rather than to do him harm And we may be at the top of the food chain, but when we are alone in the wilderness we are always vulnerable, even if we are armed..A bear can move fast and come out of no where, faster than we can pull a gun..We can make a mistake and roll an ankle, fall down a cliff, get lost, get sick, charged by a moose, elk, bit by a snake and horrible things can happen..We are always vulnerable when alone in the wilderness, and we are always tempting the odds..Chances are we will be fine, but reality is, some of us won't be..
