I live alone in rural far-east Texas. Three sides of my place are thick woods. A couple of times late at night I’ve heard some SCARY howls coming from those woods. I kinda laughed and said to myself, “Sasquatch,” but then I noticed that the people up the road have a huge Sasquatch ironwork statue in their yard. Lol. Kinda makes me wonder. 😂

I lived in Tyler, out in the country of Smith County. I also heard some wild, creepy sounds out in the woods there. I thought maybe it was the wild pigs that are everywhere in that area, or bulls. But honestly, I don't think it was those animals. It made my hair stand on end and gave me chills.

I live in central Missouri. My ex husband thinks he had an experience with MoMo. Before we met and started dating, he was camping at Pine Ridge Camping ground in Callaway County Missouri. It’s a heavily forested area, huge pine trees, we all just called it “the Pines.” Anyway, him and a group of his buddies were camping there one night. They did the usual - eat, have some beers, chill around the campfire. He said they were up until about one am and decided to go to bed, all to their respective tents. He fell asleep and woke up about two hours later when he heard footfalls in the woods behind his tent. That area is a deer highway so he just figured it was a herd moving through. Then he said the crunch crunch of the footsteps was HEAVY. And getting closer. Kind of freaked out now, he woke up fully and listened intently. He said his pulse started racing and he was all of a sudden just riddled with fear. The steps would crunch every couple of minutes or so, like whatever was approaching the camp ground was going very slowly and meticulously. He then heard what sounded like something sniffing. Not grunting like deer, something audibly sniffing - MUCH closer to the tent now then it was seconds before. Then everything stopped. My ex said he wondered if maybe it was a black bear since we have those in Missouri, though at that time in the late 90s, pretty rare. He said after a few minutes of silence he finally got the nerve up to unzip the “window” on the tent on the side facing the woods. He unzipped a small corner and looked out with his flashlight and scanned the tree line, which was about 20 yards away. He said he saw nothing. He scanned a few more times, still didn’t see anything and decided maybe it was one of the guys messing with him. So, he unzipped the front of the tent and got out and looked around. All of his buddies were passed out in their tents. Still kind of freaked out but convinced whatever it was had moved on, he went back to his tent, zipped up, and went back to sleep. About ten minutes later, as he was sleeping (his head on the side facing the woods, all of a sudden there was an enormous THUD and a MASSIVE HAND pressed down on and INTO the side of the tent. He EXPLODED out of his sleep - he said the force was SO hard it actually bent the tent pole on that side. He could actually see the imprint of the ENORMOUS hand pushing down and come within inches of his face but never actually touched him. And just as soon as it all happened, it stopped. The hand on the tent retracted and everything went quiet. No sound, no footsteps walking away. Just GONE. My ex said he had never been that scared in his entire life. He laid there eyes wide open in terror until the sun came up. He finally got out of his tent and walked around. Everyone was still passed out and there were zero footprints or any type of sign of anything disturbing their camp, everything was left as it was. With the exception of the bent tent pole, there was zero evidence it happened. He confirmed later with his friends it was definitely not them. They laughed at him and gave him grief of course like friends do, and said he probably pissed off MoMo because he snores too loud. Sorry so long, but his friends actually backed up that story and insisted years and years later it wasn’t one of them playing a joke. Ryan, my ex, chalked it up to having a close encounter with MoMo. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Wow now that you’ve reported that has the hair the back of my neck standing up. I’ve been there hiking to devils back bone trail and one time headed back to the trail head at the pine ridge campground I had this overwhelming feeling of being watched and the woods seemed uncannily quiet. It was the creepiest feeling I’ve ever had hiking. This was in the mid to late 80s when I was out there.

A lot of people that don’t really know the geography of Missouri think it’s all prairie when in fact there is SO SO much forested areas, especially down in the ozarks/southern MO. Plenty of room for Sasquatch, all over the state. I can do a little digging and see what I can find though! 🙂

I grew up in Southwest Missouri in the Ozarks. Ten years old almost asleep I rolled over in bed and outside my window was a 9ft tall monster. It was a full moon slightly above and behind it. It traumatized me badly. It almost made me go insane. I stopped going outside at night and stopped playing in the woods. This happened over 40 years ago and I haven't gone into any woods and I sleep with blackout curtains so nothing can see in.

I live about 45 miles south of St. Louis on a short dead-end road surrounded by woods on three sides, and we're about 10 miles from the Mississippi. I drive a big truck and park it just up from the house. To start with, I'm not scared of the dark at all and don't get spooked very easily. I've always had a really good sense of feeling when someone gets behind me. Even working in a load environment and wearing earplugs, I could feel when someone would walk up behind me and turn around and catch them before they could pat me to let me know they were there. One night, a few hours after I had gotten home, I realized I had left my phone in the truck. It was a pretty dark night, and I remember as I made the turn on to the road, I was thinking I should have grabbed a flashlight because I was looking straight down and could barely see where I was walking. We don't smoke in the house, so my girlfriend came out onto the porch to smoke while I retrieved my phone. I suddenly got that feeling someone was behind me. I knew it wasn't her because I would have heard her. I stopped, leaving my feet planted, I turned my upper body to try and see who or what it was. I stood there for a couple of minutes before she hollered to see what I was doing because she didn't hear me walking. At first, I was thinking someone up to know good was standing out there. So I hollered to her to grab a light and my pistol, thinking it would scare them off. When she ran in, I stood still so I could try and hear which direction they were going to move in. As I could hear her coming towards the door, I turned my whole body, and I heard a stick snap as it was stepped on. As she came out the door, I started walking at a strong pace towards the house. At that point, whatever it was started moving through the woods at a very fast pace away from me, just crashing through the woods. Very loudly. It scared her so bad that she panicked and was fighting to get the door opened that she had just closed behind her. Needless to say, at this point, I'm at a dead run for the porch, which I'm sure didn't help her nerves any. Lol. I grabbed the light and the gun from her and ran to the edge of the yard, shining the light to try and get a glimpse of whatever it was. I stood there for a while, but whatever it was was gone. I went on to the truck and retrieved my phone. The next morning, I went out into the woods to try and see any signs of what it was, but with the leave coverage on the ground, I never found anything. Now I'm not saying it was Mo-mo, but whatever it was, it had to be pretty good-sized to crash through the woods the way it did. As you can imagine, my heart was thumping pretty good at the time, and once I calmed down, I realized that I couldn't see anything in front of me, even after my eyes had time to adjust, so I don't believe a man could have ran that fast through the dense woods as dark as it was. Secondly, I realized that little pistol probably would have just pissed it off. But hey, it still made me feel better. Lol

I’m used to the woods in Pennsylvania. Years ago I traveled and camped in rural Missouri near Springfield and I was struck by how dense the woods were compared to Eastern PA. It was like the PA woods on steroids. It seemed much more wild and in parts impenetrable. It was June, hot and humid and the sound of locusts filled the air. I believe Missouri also has much more robust wildlife population including black bear, cougars, wild hogs, beaver, etc, and lots of deer. Perfect habitat for Sasquatch.

    • @anthonyaubuchon765
      @anthonyaubuchon765 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

I live here in Missouri, and yes, some areas are very dense. But I've been to the state of Washington, and I have to say, the forest there is so dense in places that you can only see a couple feet past the treeline. You could literally be standing a few feet from something and never see it. I know some people wholeheartedly believe they exist, and I'm not one to say they don't. For me, I would think someone would have found bones are something by now. My girlfriend believes they are an Indian spirit, which would explain why nobody has found real prof. I don't know. I'm not a skeptic, but I just don't know one way or another. I know there are several states with dense enough woods or forests that something could stay hidden. I mean, after all, as you mentioned, here in Missouri, we have bears and cougars, and I've never actually seen one of those either. Well I did find tracks of a cougar and of a small deer that it was chasing. I was able to follow them enough to find the carcass of the deer. That'll raise the hair on the back of your neck.

Love these stories..I would listen to the whole interview.. I really love hearing every detail possible. These stories fill the mind with so much wonder.. I was on a late night hike one time, and out of nowhere a little bird made a tweet or sound..just one..then silent..I felt it was alerting me to something. I keep walking but stayed cautious.. and about 8 to 10 min later a huge crunch of a log happened right behind me on the ground..the sound was so heavy it instantly wiped out mountain cat, deer.. and I didn't feel like it was a bear.. I did not turn around.. in fact my 2nd instant thought after it obliterated common forest animal's.. was do not look back keep walking.. I was terrified but kept my mind blank best I could.. I heard no other movement I made it safe out 20min later.. I relate to him hearing that sound of heaviness not matching up.. I wont ever willingly go on a forest night hike again.. I often wonder what was right behind me.. so scary..

Really enjoying your stories Chris! I used to do a lot of backpacking and camping. Been wanting to take the tent out again but will never EVER camp alone on the ground in isolated areas after hearing these tales. Think I'll just hit the local campgrounds at a nearby lake. As I've commented before on one of these videos, three people I know have seen Bigfoot, 2 in broad daylight. One is a brain scientist who's published in scientific magazines. You've created a wonderful show. Keep 'em coming!

Hi, Chris, I love your stories and love to camp and hike as well. But after listening to some of these people's story, you are much braver than I. It's been a while since I've been able to get out. Lately I been only going to parks with trails that are concrete or walks around ponds. Just haven't had time away from work and some depression of money matters that don't allow travel time.. But I think every time I do go out, even to my back yard to have a fire. I think about oogie boogies.. I have seen alot of crazy things in my life, but I don't think I could even go out there and especially tell stories the way you do without creeping myself out.. Stay safe my friend. Stay Brave

I really enjoyed this format, Chris. You're a good interviewer along with your story-telling skills 🙂 Kevin is pretty amazing to have worked through his issues with his encounter, and I wish him well. He's a pretty good story teller, too! (and I do mean that seriously - not like he's "telling stories" about his encounter - I believe him.) I'd like to hear the full conversation you two had. Take care! ~Robin

    Chris,
You, my friend, surely made my Sunday morning by posting this, your next and newest video; I loved it - all about the "Momo" monster! You've got an audible recording of the likely "Momo" (however indirect since he only heard it, though nonetheless, i'd say that counts!) witness along with newspaper articles from "Momo"'s legendary past haunting therein your featured historical Missouri town! And said town is exactly where our given witness originates from to this day, is it not?! Great stuff!!
You're becoming an excellent chronicler of history/field journalist and researcher, raising the research bar, seemingly everyday, in your videos, and giving us greater and greater stories with now further substantiative and supporting/background information offered!! It really makes these - already very interesting - stories you tell even more fascinating! Well done!
Thank you so much, Chris, for providing us twofold in great history/information as well as entertainment. The two aspects serve to highlight the other, making for ever-resounding stories told, stories that really leave an impression on your audience members, if, I, myself, as part of that audience, may offer a worthy testimonial, that is!!
Myself and my pet hedgehog, Buggles, really look forward to your work. And Buggles, like me, listen and watch intently to everything you have to say/everything you've doing amid every hiking adventure or whatever you're up to. And, like many others, heartily appreciate all that you have to offer. Congratulations on over 80,000 (80k) subscribers and counting. You'll be in the millions before you know it, sir!!!
Please continue to travel safe, smart, and soundly, my friend!!! Two-thousand twenty-three (2023) = continually onward and upward!!! We're humbled by all your excellent work!!
    Most Sincerely,
    Martin & Buggles

Wow what a terrifying event. I feel for this Kevin! I could see how originally he thought it was just someone coming towards the river. The fact that this tree could have killed him. I am glad he documented it. I am happy he told his story, that had to be a relief. 😮 I myself didn’t believe in Sasquatch. Two years ago for Halloween 🎃 I wanted to look up documentary on Bigfoot. I thought it was just a legend. I live in the northeast not far from New York City across in New Jersey. Only went camping once and down the Jersey Shore on vacations. I then saw how many people have seen Sasquatch and became interested in it. People talk about UFO’s but unless you have an experience yourself it makes a big difference. Love your channel Chris and your fireside chats. You made a believer out of me. 😊 ⛺️🌲

Lived in the Murphysboro, IL, in the late 70's. Had 2 personal encounters with them being on or near my property on Lake Kincade and encounters with several friends. One man was camping in the Shawnee National Forest located all over that area with a campfire going. Suddenly rocks and heavy limbs started falling into his campsite. He'd heard strange noises around him shortly before chaos erupted along with a terrible odor. He beat a hasty retreat and never camped again. This area has lots of lakes, rivers and creeks along with the forest. It's also just a few miles from the Mississippi River. Locals told of many such encounters including some about a white monster who I believe they called the Big Muddy Creek monster, a creek there in Murphysboro.

Thank you, I enjoy listening to weird experiences people have. Something which jumped out at me was you said this guy got such a fright that he eventually turned back again to The Lord. This is what often happens to people when they have a potential life-threatening experience, they think deeply about what really matters and get to grips with what they know deep down is the most important thing of all, and that's acknowledging God and seeking Him out. I had a near death experience and this is what happened to me, I turned to The Lord. There's so much about this Creation we don't understand, but one thing which we do all understand is that one day, each of us at one time or another, will stop breathing and die, but we don't cease to exist. Our Spirit (who we are) leaves our body and our body returns to the ground - see Psalm 146:4. We will forever exist in the Spirit realm, but it's important to understand that it's either good or bad depending on whether we choose God or choose to reject Him in this life. See John 3:7, this is the most important thing to choose in this life, before we stop breathing. Seek out a Born-Again Christian Fellowship and ask about it, this will be the greatest step you have ever taken in your life folks. Trust me on this. Thanks for the videos.
