Banged my hazelnuts on the seat bolster jumping in to my Type R the other day 😂. But damn it, what a great driver’s car it is. Character by the bucket. Five stars!
I've had a FK8 and know a Fl5. I live in Los Angeles and on those +90deg F days the shifter does not get uncomfortably hot to the touch. People are exaggerating.
Yea idk why dealers like to put smaller tank sizes. And with all the hybrids, they have smaller gas tanks than older gens, if they had the same size, they'd have 600/700 miles range. But the Type R def needs a bigger tank 400 mile ranges.
I have an ITS, if you think the gas tank is too small wait until you see the windshield washer tank, i have to fill it up 3x more than any other car I've ever owned. But these cars drive 3x better than every other car I've owned so it's worth it
why there are no many of them on the streets? Did Honda only fabricate a low number by year? is it because they are marked up really high over retail value?
This is a car that I have always wanted as I am a Honda man. I don't need it but I've always wanted one. You could never get a Type R at MSRP. The dealers jacked up the price and put a crazy upcharge on them. I don't know if they are still doing that but it made the price very unattractive. At MSRP it's kind of a bargain for such a little rocket.
Keep trying! Took me few dealers before I found 2 selling at MSRP and picked one up. Visited both dealers in person at off peak day/time (one Sunday before closing, another Wed 30mim before closing). Emailing doesn’t seem to work. Ironically, dealer I got mine from I had originally emailed and they said wouldn’t do msrp 😅.
I was kinda bummed giving up my heated seats, but the microfiber never feels uncomfortably cold like leather does. The one thing that it should absolutely have (and does in every country besides the US) is parking sensors. Especially since the backup cam cuts out the second that you take it out of reverse. Other than that the car is absolutely perfect. Your resale estimates are also *WILDLY* off. Right now a 2019 Type R with 60k miles goes for around 34-36k, which is 92-99% of its original value. Oh and that's a real piece of aluminum for the trim around the shifter. :)
they come handy in the integra for sure, and especially In Japan. Honda definitely cheaper out here that being said the USDM bumpers without the sensors also look cleaner so there's that
@ShaiyanHossain idk if my bumper looks cleaner with scratches in it though 😆 was pitch black and pouring rain and the cam was too blurry to see the 3' rock wall behind me
@ “its not that hard” lmao its called having a life and having work buddy. Im not driving several hundred miles and over for a car thats not even guaranteed to be msrp when i get there. And im definitely not paying for no flights. “Go out of your area” my ass. You’re the type to tell a homeless person to get a house. XD clown
Biggest gripe is the +R suspension is terrible. Literally 0/10. Idk how anyone likes it. I don't even daily my fl5 and I replaced it with the ITS module. Way better in every way. Last gripe is the exhaust. Brought it to car meet and everyone stares but then laughs when I try to rev lol. Otherwise best car for overall for sure.
Golf R faster, Less Room, German Engineering=Money Pit after 60k miles. But if quality build doesn't matter and you've got endless cash for repairs than go with the golf R

You guys are some of the best car reviewers I’ve ever seen I can’t think of someone better than you to review a car that I’m interested in.
That's very nice of you to say, thanks!
The color look gorgeous in the Honda Civic
Fantastic review!
Hopefully this means you'll finally review the Hybrid Civic Hatchback soon
Looking good - nice! Much better than Tahoe!

This one definitely look too fun to review!!
I've been looking to purchase this Type R at MSRP for about a year now. Dealers refuse to sell at MSRP. I'll patiently wait.
Buy it used. The car doesn't settle into itself until 7k-10k miles. I have 16k on mine. It drives better now than it did new from the showroom.
Yes worth price as well as type S.
21.9 mpg isn't bad, but they need to put in a bigger tank to increase the range

Who ever at honda decided to make the shift knob full metal is diabolical 😂😂😂
You can shift in the hot and cold be a man 💪🏾
I know they’re very different but how is ride quality and highway noise in the CTR compared to your 3 series? Thank you
A lot firmer and a lot louder

Y’all should a comparison video with the gr Corolla and the civic typerR
We will be making one with the Elantra N!
I would go with the type s integra if you’re over 30
Where are the bloopers of all the stalls? 😂
This manual is so easy to drive that neither of us stalled the entire week 😎 (thats not always the case with other cars lol)
No heated seats is a deal breaker for me. Maybe they'll become available for 2025 like on the Si.
Well you're missing out on some of the best oem seats available. 🤷🏻♂️
The Elantra N got a 5 on the smile meter so I’m surprised this only got a 4.
IDK.. Why Honda not compete in Supercar Racing Category? It has potential, but don't bother to do
It's out of Thinking IMO..
Spoiler looks like a shopping cart. I like the EN better at about $20k less money and you can get it in auto or stick.
Korean trash 😂
red interior immediately kills it for me… please tell me that’s optional, honda’s colored seats look so cheap imho
Red interior has always been in the type r. It's heritage at this point.

First mod be a rear wing delete. Too “boy racer looking”.
In Canada the civic starting price is 30g, and sells as high 47grand for touring, inflation on small cars wow. At 47g, you can buy Tacoma for 50
Stop crying 🍼
Where’s the 2025 ;(
You will be replacing those tires every 10,000 miles.
Not true
Ps4s last up to 30k miles but ok
lol $46k for a type r. Never gonna happen. Ive only seen $60k
So many people (including myself) have paid MSRP lol. Someone just posted a 2025 boost blue that they paid msrp for today in one of the FB groups

Beautiful car but I cant justify the high price for a civic. I'd rather spend the money on a Golf R.
No need to cry about it. 🍼
Hopefully Honda will make a killer automatic to compete with the Golf R and GR Corolla.

I would never buy another GTI or Golf R after a week in the FB groups. So many people get rid of them bc they have so many issues.
