You can remove one of the resonators right behind the cat, and then keep open the exhaust flap and that'll be the same as the type S. You can also get the type S damping module and that smooths out the suspension. Makes it a bit of a fusion up to type s a bit. Really great, easy, and super cheap things to do.
I've owned a '24 for 9 months now. I would agree the exhaust is the biggest let down it's just too quiet. The cupholders aren't my favorite either and the tire seem to be magnets for nails. Daily driving it can be a bit of a let down compared to being able to open it up on the twisties. The price is steep but I think it's actually well valued for what you get. +R mode makes me feel physically sick on all but the smoothest roads. The piped in sound kind of sucks. I put the ITS module in it and it's a great mod. Comfort mode now actually feels fairly comfortable. Overall very minor complaints and I'm super happy with mine.
I keep hearing about the car not having heated seats and being in the south that's not an issue. The back seat is perfect because if you are driving in type r mode having a middle back passenger they would get tossed around.
I've had a FK8 and know a Fl5. I live in Los Angeles and on those +90deg F days the shifter does not get uncomfortably hot to the touch. People are exaggerating.
I have the same model, the same colour. Wonderful car, after half a year ownership I can confirm all what reviwers say is true. But I would like to point out a few practical cons. 1. It is wider than normal car. So parking in tight space or driving at narrow streets is not so easy. 2. It eats a lot😅
They’re going for msrp now with a little negotiation! Last Saturday I had two dealerships fight over the sale. I even managed to talk them out of the pre-installed dealer’s “options”! The holidays are a great time to buy a car since dealers are hurting for sales.
Banged my hazelnuts on the seat bolster jumping in to my Type R the other day 😂. But damn it, what a great driver’s car it is. Character by the bucket. Five stars!
Yea idk why dealers like to put smaller tank sizes. And with all the hybrids, they have smaller gas tanks than older gens, if they had the same size, they'd have 600/700 miles range. But the Type R def needs a bigger tank 400 mile ranges.
I have an ITS, if you think the gas tank is too small wait until you see the windshield washer tank, i have to fill it up 3x more than any other car I've ever owned. But these cars drive 3x better than every other car I've owned so it's worth it
This is a car that I have always wanted as I am a Honda man. I don't need it but I've always wanted one. You could never get a Type R at MSRP. The dealers jacked up the price and put a crazy upcharge on them. I don't know if they are still doing that but it made the price very unattractive. At MSRP it's kind of a bargain for such a little rocket.
Keep trying! Took me few dealers before I found 2 selling at MSRP and picked one up. Visited both dealers in person at off peak day/time (one Sunday before closing, another Wed 30mim before closing). Emailing doesn’t seem to work. Ironically, dealer I got mine from I had originally emailed and they said wouldn’t do msrp 😅.
I was kinda bummed giving up my heated seats, but the microfiber never feels uncomfortably cold like leather does. The one thing that it should absolutely have (and does in every country besides the US) is parking sensors. Especially since the backup cam cuts out the second that you take it out of reverse. Other than that the car is absolutely perfect. Your resale estimates are also *WILDLY* off. Right now a 2019 Type R with 60k miles goes for around 34-36k, which is 92-99% of its original value. Oh and that's a real piece of aluminum for the trim around the shifter. :)
they come handy in the integra for sure, and especially In Japan. Honda definitely cheaper out here that being said the USDM bumpers without the sensors also look cleaner so there's that
@ShaiyanHossain idk if my bumper looks cleaner with scratches in it though 😆 was pitch black and pouring rain and the cam was too blurry to see the 3' rock wall behind me
This will probably be my next car for sure.. what a beauty, regarding that shift knob I would probably change it to a different one perhaps the longer stick ones just to have space for a cup if anything.. other than that love the red touches in the interior so beautiful.
why there are no many of them on the streets? Did Honda only fabricate a low number by year? is it because they are marked up really high over retail value?
Production numbers currently world wide are over 30k, if your in the us it's around 3k a year. I wouldn't expect more then 10k in the us for the entire run.
Biggest gripe is the +R suspension is terrible. Literally 0/10. Idk how anyone likes it. I don't even daily my fl5 and I replaced it with the ITS module. Way better in every way. Last gripe is the exhaust. Brought it to car meet and everyone stares but then laughs when I try to rev lol. Otherwise best car for overall for sure.

Buy it used. The car doesn't settle into itself until 7k-10k miles. I have 16k on mine. It drives better now than it did new from the showroom.
