    You should get a kinetic rope, it will be safer to tug and yank stuff out. Those tow straps will not stand up to that kinda work and kinetic ropes really work wonders for when you need to just yank something thats really stuck. Check out mattsoffroadrecovery for some good stuff.

      The downside of kinetic ropes is that the failure mode often involves high speed lumps of metal being fired at somebody's face at lethal speeds. They store a hell of a lot of energy...

    You need to get a snatch strap/kinetic strap for situations when the tractor is stuck like that instead of a normal tow strap or ratchet strap. Snatch straps/kinetic straps have some elasticity and store energy for pulling out stuck vehicles like you were! Also make sure you have something in the middle of the strap weighing it down. so if it breaks like that again the energy is put down into the ground instead of towards someone's windshield or head! Love seeing the compound content and cant wait to see what you make it!

    Adam you need to check if your tractor has a differential lock. That would make both rear tires spin instead of just one when you get stuck

  • @WhipsawWillys
    @WhipsawWillys ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @adamlz, tractor salesman here. Your left heel will have a lever to lock the rear diff. Stomp on that to help get unstuck. Also, push down those levers on your two lower rear three point arms and then pull out the ball end, it will extend the three point by several inches of play to make hooking up equipment way easier on the back. You can also look up a "quick hitch", it makes your bush hog and box blade quick attach and way easier to attach. Also, if you're back blading with the bucket on the front, keep an eye on your loader bolt tourque where the loader arms connect to the engine block, they can loosen up on you over time when you're back blading like that, then they snap, and it's no fun. Happy tractoring!

    On most tractor (especially Kubota) you can lock the rear diff. there should be a little pedal under your seat, just press on it !

    Use your bucket to try and get yourself out.
    Put the bucket in the “dump” position, put it into the ground and roll the bucket into the “scoop” position. It’ll push you backwards. You can also do it in reverse to pull yourself forward.
    Also, there should be a pedal mounted towards the seat, you’ll have to push on it continuously but that’s your differential lock

  • @steph240i
    @steph240i ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Bombardier is notorious for clutch rollers. You need to get aftermarket high torque rollers. The stock ones blow up under high loads. Same issues with they’re snow machines. Not a big job and pretty cheap. Without them your cam won’t do it’s job and you will forever have belt tension issues.

  • @ForceFed
    @ForceFed ปีที่แล้ว

    Adam -- the brushhog / bushhog mowers have a shear pin in them that is by design meant to break when you try to mow something too big for the blades. It snaps the shear pin instead of further damaging your blades. If you intend to keep cutting brush, buy a whole bunch of shear pins so as your mowing and they break, you just remove the broken pin and swap it for a new pin and then keep mowing.
    Also, like everyone else said, buy a kinetic tow strap asap.
    You might have been able to get the tractor out by itself just using the diff lock and the bucket. You tip the bucket all the way down so it's facing the ground, then push the bucket in to the ground to post and lift the front end of the tractor. Start driving in revers and slowly tip the bucket up (DONT RAISE THE BUCKET). The rolling motion of the bucket as it's tipping back will push the tractor backwards, as if someone was towing you out. You'll have to do that a few times and it's a game of inches but if you rinse/repeat on the above steps you can get your tractor out of a lot of messy situations. Speaking from experience lol.

    Learn to use the 4WD and the diff lock on the tractor....
    Diff lock should be a small lever by your heel of your foot that you can stand on to lock the rear diff.
    You can also use left and right brakes independently, to lock the spinning wheel when stuck...
    You can also use the brakes independently for when you need to make real tight turns...
    It doesn't work as good on hydrostatic trannies, or 4WD tractors, but it still works never-the-less...
    And there usually is a shear pin on the bushhog... it's a sacrificial pin to save the gearbox, for when you hit something big.

    Kubota should have a diff lock. Normally a press down petal too active. Wouldn't have gotten stuck.

    Next time use the bucket of the tractor to push yourself backwards. Dig it in on an angle and use the hydraulics lifting it to inch your way backwards. Works every time. Michigan clay mud teaches you things.

    Steep take off for the sxs jump is not the move. It's gonna buck like crazy. The less aggressive the better with sxs. You want your suspension settleled by the time you take off.

    gotta lock the diff on that tractor when you're stuck... it's a pedal on the floor of those kubotas. good little rigs. keep at it, you'll be a trail clearing pro before long!

    I think your tractor should have a positive traction button somewhere near the heal of your foot peddle area, it should lockup the differental and prevent you from getting stuck.

    As someone probably has already commented but doesn't the tractor either have a diff lock and/or split breaks to drive the wheel not in the air.

    If you're truly serious about getting the stumps and continuing the trail building, I highly recommend getting a mini excavator with a blade on it. You'll be able to dig up the stumps, rocks, or whatever else is in your way. It's also easier to maneuver since you have an arm you can use if you get stuck.

    You need to figure out how to use the hydraulics on the tractor bucket to push the tractor backwards as you try drive backwards. Crowed the bucket right in the dig it into the ground then just crowed it forward and use it to push the tractor back whole you drive backwards! You might need the revs all the way up to get the hydraulics moving stronger

    Side by side definitely needs a new belt. The sides looked really shiny. Shiny sides = slippage = belt squeal.

    If you get the tractor stuck again tilt the bucket all the way down like your going to dump out a load of dirt. Then burry the bucket in the ground and use the curl up on the bucket to push you in reverse. That and a little bit of throttle can get you out of a lot.

    your tractor should have a rear diff lock down under the seat you press it with your foot

  • @DaGrassy

    You should get a grapple bucket if your tractor has auxiliary hydraulics. If not, a root rake will work for removing those palmettos out that u asked about

    That's some green acres stuff right there. You've got some good equipment,though. You could get a 4runner, build it to take the trails and be a hurricane urban assault vehicle.

    Step on the rear diff lock on the tractor. They are open diff but there is normally a manual override around your left heel.

    depending on the model of the Kubota, there should be a little foot lever by your right foot (in the back of the right hand floor panel) which if u press and hold down, engages Pozzi traction/2wd. And since u can't put your foot on the gas pedal, there should also be a throttle lever right side of steering wheel, next to bucket controls. This is all if you have that Kubota....lol

  • @nightnope

    dont you have diff lock on that kubota? look for some small lever you can press with back of your foot.
