- I'd been dying to have some fun with Hank since I got to Vegas - and we were lucky enough to stop by for a few hours on our last day. Iroz is so rad!

@jf8188 on the used market they are always broken at about 100k miles. When I was interested in audi's ten years ago you could find them all day long for under $5k under 100k miles but the transmission would slip or the turbos would be wrecked. In my opinion any car that's worth anything can go for 200k miles with minimum effort.
Hank is so nice and such a knowledgeable dude. I knew next to nothing about Audi-VW/5cyl engines/euro cars going into this video, but I enjoyed it thoroughly. Very cool sub-segment of the car community.

I’m a broke boy, but I’ve been researching 07k motors for years and I’m so stoked to see them get some shine outside of strip numbers. There’s an adapter plate for Ford/cosworth 5 speed (t5/tko etc) so you can put them in anything. Popular swaps in Porsche 944, can still get them low mile for $200 at the yard.
Also would be sick to mount up to Audi FWD 01X trans and mount mid engine in like a Porsche 914. 01X used in GT40 racing as mid engine application in search for reliability. So many sick possibilities. Adam build one bc I can’t please

@@mirrekku pretty sure you guys got the VW diesel 2.5 version. Same block, just need heads. All VAG 2.5s are 07k after like 2004

Listening to Hank just had me smiling the whole time. Impressive in what he does and love seeing the passion he has.
2 things I loved about this..
1) At the beginning when Adam said ‘I have an hour and half spare’. You can quite clearly see that he’s been there for HOURS! Haha

I barely comment on TH-cam but my gosh that guy is extremely humble and positive considering how he started, where he’s at currently and his level of work. That’s pure pride and grateful for what he’s been able to do. I feel like you don’t see that in the automotive culture to often . More so when they goal is high horsepower cars . Wow!

I was laughing at Collette talking about selling her TT and her seeing what her car could have been. LOL
But the TTRS had some flaws.....rattlesound from the engine, forgotten bolt on the downpipe.....a pain to work on every single engine part....

I’ve got a red S60r you never see them on the road mine has every option and the full body kit. One of the best cars I’ve driven. Don’t think I’d ever let it go

One of my favorite videos that’s been on the channel in a minute! As a lover of German engineering and Audi’s getting to walk thru and see hanks shop in quick detail left me wanting more! My first car was an Audi and still have one today, an Rs4 with the famous sounding V8 an era right before they got all this crazy tech and power but still such an awesome drivers car. I’ve always wanted to own one of these 5cyl motors to build into some car, so I hope I can live vicariously brought you and you build an old Quattro or similar chassis like importing one of the old s3 hatch’s and bringing some amazing German love to the channel!

Check out videos from Gatbil tuner/track festival in Scandinavia... Lots of 5 cylinder Audi's sliding around, mostly 4wd drifting with (relatively) narrow angle but extreme speed and insane amounts of tire smoke, they also use Ford escort cosworths for that as well and that is a glorious sight!

That was a very cool! It still shocks me that the 5 cyclinder caught so much grief. They sound great it would seem to be able to handle more rpm with less ware and tare on the engine.
I have a regular old Jetta 2.5 and wow have I beat it up and drive it to its max and it’s held up very well over the years - engine wise
