Always wondered what they mean by fast action rods, thanks for the clarification, nice looking rods very informative 👍
Always happy to see you in here. Fishing for couple of years now, always trying to learn. I like the look of them rods.
Great video as always. Now my son is back from Uni we are hoping for some Bass action in Hastings this summer. Thanks for your helpful tips and tricks, we need them!!
Always lots of information on your videos your continually talking whilst fishing which is really good. Keep it coming 😊
Thanks, will do!
Always enjoy your videos, love fishing for Bass and hoping to do some lure fishing for them now I'm able to walk better. Great stuff keep them coming.
I’m looking to start sea fishing as I’ve only ever course fished on river and lakes. This channel is really helpful and enjoyable to watch. Thank you Matt 👍
Excellent video Matt. I'm hoping to have a blast with some lures through summer in North Wales. This video Def. Gave me alot to think about, cheers Karl.
Great information, I’ve started fishing again after 20 years and I’m completely hooked again .looking forward to more of your videos
Another great video. Your attention to detail is always brilliant and explained so well. Thanks again 👍
Thanks again!
Cheers Matt, full of tips as usual. Looking forward to the silver-season this year. Let’s hope it’s a goodun 🤞🏻😊
A silver season! Like that idea
Been looking for a 9ft rod for a while now , must have a try of these great looking rods, keep up informative vids , thanks
Great video as always, some great scenes and landscapes too. Always good to get an independent review of a rod by a real angler who knows what a decent rod feels like and what it should offer.
Thanks for saying that. Im always looking for that balance of cost and quality personally.
Bass go for so many different things, I saw a guy practice casting, he had those pop up balls on a rig with no bait, he hooked a bass. Great video as always.
Hi Matt, i purchased the DRX1 5-35, a couple of months ago, I’m currently using it in Portugal, I have to say, it’s fishes beautifully,I’ve teamed it up with the Sedona 4000, probably should have gone with 2500-3000, still it’s a beautiful rod, yet to catch… plenty of Bass jumping, after the Sand Eels,I will catch one of those Bass!, thanks Matt for another great Video.🎣
Cheers Matt, Very interesting, I've never tried Freelineing but thats inspired me to give it a go as I fish the south coast as well, mainly Shoreham.
Yea look for a better flow than we had in this video but it can be deadly
I wish I could get to the coast and fish more often. Looking forward to some sea fishing in August on the south coast. Thanks for the tips and advice Mat. Great channel fella! 👍
Always enjoy videos and learning a bit more about fishing is always good 👍
Great video as always. A newbie getting into my lure fishing so great to get the fundamentals correct and put me on the right path
I am looking to get into this lure fishing Thank you for the video, I also fish Bexhill and Hastings.
❤ your content always well put together I remember you once said if you want to catch more bass move to the coast😂for now it’s just holidays😢
Yea I stand by that - harsh but true
Thanks Matt! Always nice to see a rod review…. There’s so many and the price can vary so much….
Look forward to the next one.
B🤓
Another good show! Looking forward to getting out and putting some of your advice to the test around Portsmouth! Tight lines mate.
They look good rods , thanks for all the videos Matt we all enjoy them , here's hoping for loads of fish this summer !!
Thanks for the video Matt, very useful information and I would say a honest review / opinion of the rods. Looking forward to seeing some of your catches on the lures, tight lines. Steve.
I'm going to be investing in a drift rod to add to my collection. Always enjoy your videos. Thanks Matt.
Really like the look of the 8ft rod. I use a 9’6” and fish of rocks a fair bit and sometimes struggle with the back cast, think that rod will be perfect for my fishing. Have a great season 👍.
My go-to lure rod is always a medium fast-action 8 foot and 10 - 35 grammes. They really are great for putting movement into soft plastics and punch out a metal lure when needed, with good accuracy. I'm really itching for some bass fishing.
Good stuff - I think some
Manufacturers call a rod super-,fast ultra-fast etc when it’s the same as a rod branded just “fast” these rods are not particularly fast especially when compared to the dialuna which I’d call ridiculously fast !
@@SaltwaterAngler
Yeah, I've noticed that with some rods. It's like some ambiguous label they give to number of different rods with different flexing characteristics. That's why I'll always test a rod first, despite the label.
Hi, looking forward for summer fishing season 😄👌 will check rods you reviewed.
Thank you for inspiring people to be closer to nature.
Interesting, informative, and well-presented, and as always, a joy to watch. Well done Matt, another great video. I do try to keep an eye on the birds, but my wife gets quite cross!
Thanks, some birds are worth watching !
Thank you for the information! Always enjoy your uploads, tight lines.
Only just getting into lure fishing for bass , I still haven't caught one yet but I'm enjoying trying . Your videos are really helpful but they're going to cost me money 😂 I'm sure the wife won't mind.... Thanks.
Nice one Matt, they look like good rods. dont forget making a push net please
Noted
Another informative video, advice easy to understand without being to technical. Thank you.
Thanks for another great video. Perhaps I'll bump into you in Devon. Cheers
Nice looking rods, like the orange and the reelseat and eyes look good quality, never heard of drift before but will look into them now
Great review from you Matt, the rods seem to be up to the task with a classy finish and good action. Interesting video from you, very enjoyable. Cheers Matt👍
Great review, definitely worth a consideration. Pity we never saw you land a chunk on the 35g rod😊
Next time!
I'd love a second heavier rod and the 20-50g looks good for that. Cheers for the review...
Thanks for the great video, full of information 👍. About the soft plastic lures (expecially they use it with Prawns), the ones including TPE (thermoplastic rubbers ) metarial, melt when you keep them with other lures.
Great tip! they react badly !
@@SaltwaterAngler thanks :) Tpe prawns seems to have better tail action like sg 3d manic shrimp and even the chinese ones. I don’t like their casting distances though, even with lrf roads, in windy conditions no chance. I am after vodoo shrimp (also see in your video) for a long time and I will have chance to try them this summer finally. I tried westin salty shrimp, z-man but couldnt catch sea bass yet. I keep on trying :)
Nice presentation as usual. I really like the look of the 9' 2" 20-50g.
It definitely has its place. I see it as a long distance big lure or metals over deeper rock marks or long casting on estuaries
@@SaltwaterAngler Even a bit of very light ledgering.
Great video / review, Mat, as always. Very informative, and I love your knowledge of lure fishing. Keep up the good work, mate. 👍
Much appreciated!
Very Informative Matt, like another subscriber mentioned about fast action rod now I know what to look out for. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🎣🎣🎣
Nice looking rod, and thank you for the fishing tips. I just got back into lure fishing this year and am hoping for a few bass.
Another really enjoyable video as always. Definitely learning lots from your videos
Jolly good 👍
Cracking Video as always Matt , many thanks
Still got my old fish zone 10 foot spinning rod that I will give a run out this week. Has been a great budget rod and still going strong, had it years.
If it ain't broke don't fix it applies I think 😊
💪
Great review, looks a nice bit of kit. Nice to see different indepth reviews
Good video, the rods look lovely, I already use drift soft plastics and find them really effective and we'll priced so I'm sure the rods will be good quality too.🎣🐟
Really like drift lures, I'm definitely considering investing in a drift rod. Appreciate the videos always very informative 👍
Another helpful video as always. Will definitely put these tips to work. Thank you.
Good information on rods and reels etc going to start lure fishing so quick and easy after a day's work
Another Amazing video full of useful info Matt. There’s always something to learn here. Good luck in the draw everyone 😊😊😊
Thank you 🙏
I'm going to start lure fishing in the south east. Can't wait to catch my 1st bass. Have been using Google earth to hint for marks.
Good luck! and a good move on google earth will make it more exciting when you catch that you found the spot. Also stay safe watch those tides
@SaltwaterAngler I hope to get out more this summer also along south east coast. I fish alone and can get nervous about those tides. Understanding the tides might be a topic for a video sometime. safety
Intresting review. I'm not that experienced in sea lure fishing but I'm thinking if i put into practice what I know about lure fishing the river for perch same sort of retrieve ect I might hook into a bass or a Mackrell. Great review mate look forward to your next video tight lines bud 🎣🎣🎣
Very much so, lots of commonalities with Perch for sure. Us Bass Anglers could learn a hell of a lot from freshwater luring and game
@SaltwaterAngler that's intresting you say that. Turns out I could be a really good bass fisherman then. 👍🏼👍🏼🎣🎣🎣
I'm still trying when i can, no joy yet Matt. Great information thank you 🖖
Never heard of drift until now, certainly worth considering as I'm looking for a new bass rod combo
Great looking rods, nine footer especially. Only had two little schoolies on a lure, but definitely need to get out for something bigger this year. Thanks for the advice on instagram by the way.
Great infomation, i need all the advise that is on offer. Great work keep it up.
hello matt, nice rods and reels looked well matched, with good action. please to see you out again chasing the bass. take care and regards patrick chapman.
Thanks mate
Always good to see your reviews 👍
Nice video as usual Matt, combo looks great!
It does!
Nice combination of review and tips in this video.
Glad it was helpful!
Let’s see you catching and where to fish from Bexhill to Hastings great videos thanks
There’s hours and hours on the channel ! Although I need to discover more from Bexhill this year
Im Thinking of getting into lure fishing for when i go to the south west for holidays as such ! so will look into this rod and the Favorite Cobalt !
great videos, thanks for the detailed reviews, they are helpful while I decide on this years upgrades
Brilliant, been waiting on your video dropping thanks for sharing
Great video mate keep them coming 👍
Look forward to more rod and reel reviews
Like the look of the 5-35g rod, nice action. I'm currently using a budget Shimano rod rated 10-50g, in reality it struggles with more than 25g. Also while I'm here can you have a word with Drift about producing spare tail packs for their Drx Sandeels, I have a pack of 2 both with snapped tails, due to angry bass.
Thanks mate great input I’m sure they will read this
Good looking rods mate. I also have that Nasci 4000XG but have lost the winder and have spent over a year to get a replacement (as yet without success). Good to see some mackerel being caught.
you can use a couple of other handles with this - will have a look for you
@@SaltwaterAngler Thanks Matt - It's an odd one - a screw in fitting.
Shimano have not been very helpful.
As fate would have it - have just received a call from Oakwood Angling that they’ve finally received my winder for the Nasci 4000XG from Shimano.
They’ve been waiting on Shimano UK since September 2023.
Let’s hope it’s the correct one as I have previously returned 4 wrong ones for the later gold Nasci.
Would love to try one of them 👀 cracking info as always
Many thanks for sharing the info on the Drift rods.
Nice wee review, really enjoyed it yours channel, tight lines mate 👍😊
Nice looking rod. Thanks for the very informative video as always.
Thanks for watching!
Nice looking rods to be fair. I have a favourite cobalt as a backup rod for my savage gear sgs5 and I really like the 9ft+ rods I find that for a lot of my fishing I need the casting distance but have never found myself needing anything more than a 9 to 35g I think it's perfect.
Also nice when paired with a 2500 - 3500 size reels
Nice to have what a fast action actually is explained for once! Thank you! Oh and pick me 😂🎣🎣
Great informative video again Matt - thanks buddy
I’m using the savage gear sgs6 and absolutely loving it so far
Good honest review.
Thanks!
Look like a good budget rod thanks for highlighting it.
Another informative vid😅eo. Thanks!. I don't think I'll be allowed to buy another rod though... 😂
Another great vid Matt, how do you fish your prawn lures?, under a float or cast and retrieve.
Another great video, nice introduction to rod selection.
Not heard of the Drift brand!!
Would like on of those👍😜
great video as usual Matt
Great film, thanks mate!
Great video , thanks for the chance to win a lure rod
No worries your in the draw
Great video Matt ! Really Good rods for the price 👍
I love the Abu Garcia Devil Spin rods great for the money less than £30 - £50
That DRX1 5-35g rod would suit me, I've just bought 3 of Drifts New Launch Jig lures that would be great on it
Great video again
As usual an interesting and informative video, thanks.
One comment, I have a 30gm rod that I've caught many pike on, don't get to sea fish nowadays. It cost under £30 and has never given me any problems, you can get cheap very good rods. It's unbranded and may well come from China but who cares?
Thanks for the info! Yes most rods do come from China. You can find some real bargains out there for sure. Im always searching for that sweet spot of cost and quality, thanks for your comments as usual mate
Good video keep them comin I've just bought a 9ft gs2 ugly stick spinnin rod what do you think of them
Great video. Thanks for running a giveaway, would be great to win.
Excellent channel very informative
Always very helpful mat thanks for the vid👍
Great video. Any luck on the creature baits. Been trying them out around Plymouth with no luck yet.
Great video Matt always good information keep up the good work i
Good review. I like the look of them
