Is it possible to beat Borderlands 2 with ONLT The Minecraft Longbow? What if we tried it on OP10? Can we beat Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode as a Minecraft Skeleton? Borderlands, Borderlands 2, Borderlands the Pre-sequel, and Borderlands 3 all have guns that can get pretty wacky, but wacky doesn't always mean good. In this challenge run, we try to beat the game with only the Minecraft Arrows! Want to see me try this challenge with a different gun, grenade, or shield? Comment below on what gun, grenade, or even shield I should try next! Any gun in any game (Borderlands 1, Borderlands 2, Borderlands the Pre-Sequel, Borderlands 3, Wonderlands, or even Minecraft!)
Borderlands 2 is full of Easter eggs and references, but the most memorable one has to be the Minecraft easter egg in Caustic Caverns, Today we ask ourselves, Can You Beat Borderlands 2 with Only The Longbow? Here are the rules for this run, First off This will be an Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode Over Power 10 playthrough, for the Minecraft players that never played this game (thanks for watching btw) this just means enemies have 4x health, health regen, and are all 10 levels higher than us. BAR will not be allowed for this run and the Longbow is the only gun I can use, The longbow being a sniper-type weapon means that the Zer0 is the character to pick, We will be using the legendary sniper class mod for a bunch of sniper buffs, this com has us trade off 2/3rds of our shield for some pretty intense crit damage bonuses so we will super squishy for the whole run. Melee and Zero’s kunai skill will be allowed for applying death marks and slag to the bad guys but I can't kill enemies with melee damage, if any of the run invalid babies wanna complain about this, I literally put it in the rules so don’t make a fool of yourself. As for the other gear, we have a basic shield and the Vault Hunter relic as a placeholder. Here is a quick peek at the build pretty basic sniper build so let's hope into the run. We start our journey in tutorial town, a village recently overrun by pillagers and their fearsome ravagers, and just like any Minecraft raid I used my bow to start taking these guys out from afar, Lucky for us every single low bow you find in this game comes with a Flame 1 Enchantment, making combat with these fleshy bandits and creatures relatively easy. Here I had a chance to learn the arc of our arrow shots and get used to it, the longbow being 1 of 3 snipers in this game with no scope and also shooting Minecraft arrows at an upward angle made it a little goofy to aim, the 10/5 in accelerate tripling our bullet speed also made this pretty chaotic to learn. I found the best thing to do was to use the top of our crosshair to aim as opposed to the middle, anyway, we met with the village's only surviving villager, made ourselves an “iron golem” and made our way toward our first boss fight boom Bewm, Here we learned a pretty valuable lesson for this fight, no crits, no damage. The sniper is definitely a skill especially when it comes to armored enemies like Boom Bewm, body shots won't get you anywhere but if you set it up and land the headshots, you get the results you need. Gas really should’ve added the Infinity enchantment, would’ve been much easier.
At least this bow has mending, even though the current patch has a glitch where you can’t see it.

Seeing that Goliath just return to the top of the tower by sheer rage alone, only to plummet off is genuinely the most Borderlands thing Borderlands itself could pull off. I am so glad you got to see that, lol

All of the little Minecraft puns and edits are so dumb. I love it.
The damage three loaders step is my least favorite part of any quest in the game. I'm playing Maya currently, and have cloudkill, so it's basically impossible to damage them enough without killing them. Fortunately, if you kill all of them, the door opens anyway.
The second worst is anything that requires kills with a specific weapon, until I found The Bee and my gun damage could actually compete with cloudkill.

Not gonna lie, for a Hyperion, E-Tech, scopeless and locked to fire only, Longbow sniper rifle is pretty damn solid.
Oh, and there's an idea for a future run: "Can you beat BL2 as a bandit?"
Rules: normal Bandit gear only (so, obviously, no Slagga or Badaboom), UVHM, and no relics (I mean, have you ever seen a bandit with a relic?)
As for shields: Pot O' Gold. Yes, I'm not kidding.
As someone who has 1200+ hours in Bl2, and never played mincraft, this video kinda felt like a fever dream. And I thank you for that.

Video idea (kind of easy kind of hard) beat the game using the unique items each boss drops (grenades and guns) and change them each time you kill a new boss
For instance, Hornet for Knuckle Dragger, Bp for BB, Fireball fist for Flynt etc.
Use regular shield and relic, class mod depends on vault hunter.

As someone who’s been playing Minecraft since 2012ish, the amount of Minecraft puns in this was freaking brilliant! For some ungodly reason the Firehawks line in the book and quill was way funnier than it should’ve been .
NPCs are generally fine, until you need a second wind and suddenly they turn into killing machines and take out every single enemy

hey Gasmask, I think a playthrough where youre allowed to use both the Longbow AND the Blockhead would have been a bit more interesting, because there would be some dynamic decision making from time to time on whats better to use (although it would mainly be an ammo management thing)

Ah, I miss BL2. I played every character so I have fond memories of snapping my fingers and taking out entire boss fights with turrets alone via Axton, ultra-gunzerking with the tank tree to make Sal unkillable, becoming Speed of Sound Sonic from One Punch Man without the weakness of having nuts cause Zer0 doesn't have any, becoming an ADHD demon with Gaige, doing a single-player two-character run with Maya, and going so far as to mod Krieg to spec into every single skill point which promptly created a nigh-infinite being of destruction that I didn't even have to FFYL because all the abilities activated at once nukes everything almost instantly, so the only thing that beat it is the FFYL counter that can't be beaten. I love them all, but I gotta say, there's something uniquely satisfying about aligning your abilities and going absolutely apeshit with one combo via OP Zer0. It actually requires timing and finesse while most of the rest can be specced into "press and forget" skills (hence my love for Krieg because he automatically demands a different level of control to keep alive since he's basically suicidal as a skill), and that's why Zer0 is STILL an enigma.

Challenge Run ideas
1. Simple idea I wouldn't mind seeing a Volcano run since it was good in BL1 but not so good in BL2 would like to see just how not good.
2. Complex idea, Lowest level you can get away with for some of the best weapons in BL2 without excess help like bee shield or major damage boosting glitches on OP10. This was inspired by joltzdude saying that the flying sandhawk without bee shield is pretty meh and just the idea of stuff like just good weapons like norfleet or pimpernel

This is my favorite video from GasMaskGaming. He honestly does not suffer too much in this challenge and he genuinely is having fun with it. The Minecraft references also help the video a lot. I hope he had as much fun making the video as I did watching it
I remember one time I had trouble killing flint because I was away from the game for so long and my weapon that was dealing normal damage was a slow sniper still, and, He did his jumping attack and got stuck behind one of the walls, I was going to cheese him because he was stuck be he just, walked through the wall.
Needless to say I died that time.
